Avatar m tn About me: I'm 32 years old, male and have had mild Vertigo symptoms for 9 months now. The symptoms of feeling like I just got off a boat are constant and happen 80% of the day, all day every day. I have never fallen over from it but it does greatly affect my quality of life. About my medical past: Had Bells Palsy in April 2014 on my left side of my face (MRI, CT, Xrays done to make sure it wasn't a stroke), cleared up by June/July 2014. Vertigo like symptoms started in August 2014..
Avatar n tn I have been working hard on my health and diet and just got clearance last week to stop taking the last of my meds. I took Lisinopril, Amlodipine, and Metoprolol. I was weaned off them all. I am now med free. Yay! Curious if anyone truly saw weight loss after stopping beta blockers.
Avatar m tn pdf Bottom line, reduce the sodium in your diet, eat healthy and get some exercise and most importantly get some weight off. See your doctor and ask for a diet and exercise program that they feel will bring you results. Congrats on getting proactive at your age, you can add many years onto the back of your life!
Avatar n tn Hello Exforge is a combination of Amlodipine and Valsartin. A calcium channel blocker and ACE inhibitor used to treat high blood pressure. Possible side affects include indigestion as well as numbness and tingling of the extremities (feet and hands). I would call your doctor to describe these side affects so that he/she can assess the severity to determine if the medication needs to be stopped and changed to something else.
Avatar f tn Aggressive diet and exercise can often get patients off of their medications altogether, especially if couple with weight loss. Even a small amount of weight loss can lead to significant improvements in blood pressure. Your medication regimen appears appropriate. Keep in mind that going to your doctor may also cause anxiety which can significantly elevated blood pressure.
Avatar m tn Hi, I am a male 40 years with slight hypertension for which I am taking S-Numlo 5 (S-Amlodipine 5 mg). My height is 5 feet 10 inches, weight is 75 kg. I had bad asthma for 2 years which was treated with asthalin inhaler but I no longer have it nor do I use the inhaler or any other medication for asthma. I am a software engineer by profession. Fitnesswise - I can do about 40 pushups and jog for 30 minutes non stop.

Avatar m tn Hi My age is 41, weight is 85 KG and height is 1.7 meters. At the beginning of this year I started feeling slight dizziness and shortness of breath. I latter found out that my blood pressure was on the high side averaging 140/90. I tried to exercise this pressure down, healthy eating, no salt, but problem is that sometimes my pressure would spike to levels like 160/110 pulse 150 for a short time of less than 5 minutes and then leave me feeling weak for a few days.
Avatar f tn Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker indicated for hypertension. The S form of amlodipine is said to be responsible for dilation of blood vessels and lowering of blood pressure. The S- isomer of amlodipine or Asomex® is being studied in clinical trials and may lead to side effects such as fatigue or tiredness, dizziness or fainting, headache, flushing, or swelling of the legs or ankles. Side effects of amlodipine are generally mild and reversible.
Avatar n tn I was just prescribed amlodipine for my gastritis how ever I can't seem to find any info about it being helpful for that. All the info I have found is about blood pressure. Is this a common prescription? Should I be concerned if I already have low blood pressure?
Avatar m tn My 40 year-old wife in recent months has undergone a number of tests following some weight loss. It transpires that she is suffering from hypertension with her 24hr ambulatory readings averaging at 170/110. Further diagnostic tests (ECG, echo and cardiac MRI) were undertaken and her cardiologist told her that her heart is enlarged (moderate) with impaired function (I believe ejection fraction in the region of 45%) but has not been able to identify the root cause of the hypertension.
Avatar m tn tony thanks for your response the benazepril is to treat the hypertension and to reduce protein loss through the kidneys the amlodipine also for hypertension and control her plood pressure which was elevated the plavix is to reduce the chance of blood clots i also give her fish oil and give her chopped green cabbage with meals , i have started to wake up and give her a meal at 2;00 am and seems to have stopped the vomiting of bile . when karly was diagnosed in oct of 2015 she weighed 9.

20003202 tn?1488258062 (stopped working), now just Amlodipine 10 mg. Since taking the Amlodipine 10 mg. for about a week, my blood pressure keeps going higher and higher. Today readings were between 160/90 - 165/125. Also, my lower legs are sore, I have dizziness and feel light-headed, and are extremely lethargic. Is there any light at the end of the tunnel? Is there a cleaner medication with better results and less side effects. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am desperate....
Avatar n tn Side effects of Lyrica including sleepiness, dizziness, blurry vision, weight gain, trouble concentrating, swelling of the hands and feet, and dry mouth. Lastly, Paxil can also be associated with weight gain. Again as stated before Wellbutrin has a lower incidence of weight gain . The average weight gain with paroxetine (Paxil®) for someone who weighs 150 pounds is about 5 pounds. Some people can gain much more.
Avatar m tn I had been taking Amlodipine for a few weeks and BP rose. Doctor has increased to 5 mg. Not sure how long it will take to reduce BP. Has anyone any experience with Amlodipine? How is it? Any adverse side effects?
Avatar m tn I am a male 70 years of age. I have been on 150mg Irbesartan and 5mg Amlodipine daily since October 2010. This controlled by BP within acceptable limits. Since late April, however, the systolic has risen to an average of around 150. My doctor wants me to add a beta blocker to the other medications. Since last October my heart rate was averaging below 60. Since late April it is averaging around 70.
Avatar f tn I am on Amlodipine and Metoprolol. Prior to starting this I was doing well on an 1100 calorie very low carb diet and I also hit the gym for 2 hours a day. I have not lost any weight in over three weeks. I would like to do a trial of not taking the b/p meds. I think the only reason my b/p went up was because I had gained 40 pounds. I have a home cuff and will monitor myself and lucky for me when my pressure goes up I get a headache.
Avatar m tn I was put on lisinopril and amlodipine. Ever since I started taking these medications my ocd has been totally out of control. There are rituals and image problems that I have never had before and it's really getting worse. Does anyone here have anxiety problems along with HBP and the medications have made them worse? Doctors don't believe me but I know my own mind and how different it is since I went on these medications.

Avatar f tn Hi there. What is your diet and weight like? do you take any other meds for anything? Have you had bloods to rule out secondary causes? rare enough, but worth a look at. Did you have a kidney function test or test for blood sugar levels? How long are you taking the Amlodipine?? Did you have 24 ABPM test to get a full day BP average?
