amlodipine and swollen feet

Did you ever figure out what the issue is? I also have swollen ankles, feet, and lower legs too. My doctor is sending me to neurology. It's so bad sometimes I can't walk well and I pull muscles/tendons. It can also be very painful. I don't have the red splotches or numb spots that you describe. Like you, I watch my sodium, don't sit or stand for too long, and have had all the blood tests I should.

The usual answer looking at Amalodipine side effects is swollen feet or/and more common is swollen ankles. I find that this is not the case with me, and want to know my problem. I get spongy feet, where I feel the part of my feet between underside of foot and the underside of bone feels spongy when I walk, it is very uncomfortable, it does not happen all the time but is uncomfortable about 3 days in 7.

I take high blood prssure maedicines. Due to this my ankles and feet swell. Now red patches have appeared on my ankles onskin and they are moving upwardson feet. Can anybody suggest remedy??

Neuropathy includes muscle weakness, cramps, spasms, pain in hands, feet, and extreme sensitivity to touch. headaches above the eyes, ears, back of head or back of neck, paresthesiae including numbness, tingling, burning or a feeling of crawling in hands, arms, legs and feet. I start with Lisinopril 40mg, but my doctor added amlodipine. It helps but my ankles and legs swell up really bad. Thoughts or suggestions would be helpful. thanks.

old and since last summer I have been waking up in the morning with joint pain. My elbow joints, hip, and knee joints are all painful. And I have this tired weak feeling so it takes me awhile to get out of bed. The meds I am taking are : Nexium 40mg. twice a day, Amlodipine Bensylate 5mg. once a day, Trilipix 135mg. once a day and Ibuprofen 600mg. when needed. Pravastatin Sodium 40mg. once a day and Alprazolam 1mg. twice a day.

what is it call? I have red legs below my knees and it hurts and a little swollen.

Also sometimes the feet get hyper sensitive with the surface skin nerves, feet can go red sometimes, and if I brush my hand over my feet it is like a mild electric shock, also feel the same effect when putting on socks. My solution has been to take only one tablet every other day, by missing out a day, and that has helped minimise these weird uncomfortable side effects.

Have been taking amliodopine 5mg for approx 2 months, but last week increased to 10mg. Now every night I have swollen ankles and they are not comfortable. Has anyone also suffered this and if so what did they do?

Hi, I am a male 40 years with slight hypertension for which I am taking S-Numlo 5 (S-Amlodipine 5 mg). My height is 5 feet 10 inches, weight is 75 kg. I had bad asthma for 2 years which was treated with asthalin inhaler but I no longer have it nor do I use the inhaler or any other medication for asthma. I am a software engineer by profession. Fitnesswise - I can do about 40 pushups and jog for 30 minutes non stop.

Hi Jane68, I am on Amlodipine (generic Norvasc) 20mg/day for Prinzmetal's angina. My feet, ankles and lower calfs often swell, especially after I've been on my feet for any length of time, and I was warned about this by both my cardiologist and the pharmicist. I've gone up a whole shoe size and now have cankles. :) My cardiologist feels that a diuretic won't help (plus I have trouble keeping my potassium level up).

I was just prescribed amlodipine for my gastritis how ever I can't seem to find any info about it being helpful for that. All the info I have found is about blood pressure. Is this a common prescription? Should I be concerned if I already have low blood pressure?

Today though no swollen feet or hands and then I took a nap and when I woke up they were both swollen so Im kind of like but i didnt even work myself so my question does swollen feet and hands just come and goes whether working your self or not?

Hello Exforge is a combination of Amlodipine and Valsartin. A calcium channel blocker and ACE inhibitor used to treat high blood pressure. Possible side affects include indigestion as well as numbness and tingling of the extremities (feet and hands). I would call your doctor to describe these side affects so that he/she can assess the severity to determine if the medication needs to be stopped and changed to something else.

Hi ladies im 32 weeks and my feet got a lil swollen. One is more swollen than the other lol. Normally yes im tored my feet hurt aince i stand all day at work but once im up im ok i can handle it. I have a lot of energy. Yesterday i had a small baby shower just friends and i was walking around ALL day today i clean ALL day and now it hurts to even walk. My feet are killing me i feel like i cant even put pressure on them so i walk as if i have needles sticking out :/.

Yes my feet and hands have been swollen and yesterday my feet went down and my hands were swelling. The doctor told me to wear tight socks and elevate my feet and have ice packs or cool water over them.

Hi ladies my feet are swollen I went to Walgreen and got my blood pressure check it was 134 over 83 they said it was normal. I've been drinking lots of water and watching my salt and sodium intake. What do you ladies think and what should I do about my feet any suggestions would be great..

I own my own pair of boots which fit perfectly at the beginning of the day, but as the day goes on, after lots of skiing, my feet swell up and cause restriction of the blood supply. This causes pins and needles and pain in my toes. Last year, my big toenails went black and dropped off it was so bad, yet the boots have been fitted and fit properly and comfortably at the beginning of each holiday.

Any tips or advice for swollen feet except for drinking lots of water and putting feet up?
