Now, she has many complications of Diabetes including Diabetes Neuropathy, eyes issues like cataracts, osteoarthritis etc. she also has complications in her back/spine. Hi I've had a positive ANA ranging between 1:80 and 1:160. I have also been testing positive for U1-RNP range considered positive is 81 or higher I was reading at 114. t cause neuropathy or lung problemes because I have had critical illness polyneuropathy that was resolved by ivig therapy and I also have illness induced asthma and high blood pressure so I need a blood pressure medicine thats not going to make me sick.

Hello I'm new to the forum and I'm glad I found it. I have a question about high blood pressure medication. I found out two years ago that I have high blood pressure. I also suffer with ocd. I was put on lisinopril and amlodipine. Ever since I started taking these medications my ocd has been totally out of control. There are rituals and image problems that I have never had before and it's really getting worse.

Have been on amlodipine and quinapril for about 6-7 years as well as other meds. My blood tests came back fine except for my RDW which is elevated. My NT-ProBNP was only at 6 pmol/L so very low. The Cardiologist immediately ruled out coronary disease - he said I was too young (40yrs old). Said it could be Atypical Angina that was causing the chest pain but no way to test accurately due to my age and said he he could not tell me it wasn't PAH.

Amlodipine and Lisinopril have different mechanisms of action... These medications are prescribed depending on the status of the patient(co-morbidities or other diseases)... For example, Beta-Blockers(a class/group of anti-hypertensives) is not given to a hypertensive patient with asthma since this may exacerbate/worsen the asthma... Better a consult your doctor...

They started me on losartan 50 mg and amlodipine 5mg. And for some reason it seams like it is not going down, so I went to the ER and they increased my amlodipine to 10mg and adv me to contact my primary dr that following week. Called the dr that next week and he increased my losartan to 100 mg and amlodipine to 10 mg, 1 each per day. However it seems like my bp is still hanging out around the upper 180's.

I'm on hypertension meds too. One side effect is dehydration therefore making sure you maintain a good intake of water is important and you won't get that cough or least, cough less. Make sure you speak to your Dr.

I was just prescribed amlodipine for my gastritis how ever I can't seem to find any info about it being helpful for that. All the info I have found is about blood pressure. Is this a common prescription? Should I be concerned if I already have low blood pressure?

then he gave me sorbitrate tab and one losartan tab of bp and also took my blood sample in which the SGOT level was 22 and blood sugar was 118 random he kept me under observation. Their my pain was reduced but was having head heviness,my ECO was also done which doctor said was normal.

My feet and ankles swell up every couple of days to a week. My sugar is good, blood pressure is great, I'm not pregnant. I also am not sitting or standing for long periods of time. The only sodium in my diet is from canned veggies and fruit. To lower the sodium from this source, I drain and rinse the veggies. Waiting on my blood tests for hormone levels, vitamin levels and other stuff. I also do not drink diet sodas, or use artificial sweeteners.

was taking atenolol 100mg, amlodipine, captopril and moduretic daily for the hbp but have recently dropped off atenolol and amlodipine and resorted to a reduced salt diet, little or no alcohol and little or no smoking. I have noticed that pirton seems to help with the rapid sneezing and antacids seems to help with the smelly throat and sour taste in the mouth.

I am unable to point to any change in my behavior: no changes in stress or diet, no dramatic increase in salt intake, etc. I am a 76 y.o. white male in generally good health, maybe 5 or 10 lbs overweight, with well-controlled hypertension, no family history of bad diseases.
