amlodipine and anxiety

I was put on lisinopril and amlodipine. Ever since I started taking these medications my ocd has been totally out of control. There are rituals and image problems that I have never had before and it's really getting worse. Does anyone here have anxiety problems along with HBP and the medications have made them worse? Doctors don't believe me but I know my own mind and how different it is since I went on these medications.

I took it for about a month and began experiencing anxiety, depression and sadness, and panic attacks. I cut the dose down to 2.5mg. No problems now.

However, you did say the episode happened after your took the amlodipine besylate for the hypertension and anxit which is supposed to help relieve anxiety. The amlodipine besylate is not a new medication for you, is the anxit? It could be a reaction to the anxit but I doubt it. I still think you should see a neurologist.

I was prescrbed metoprolol 50mg and amlodipine 5mg. I have been taking this medine for a year. I have been regularly checking my BP ever since. It comes to 130/75mm/hg within a month. But Still I am taking the same dosage. My worry is : Is metoprolol and amlodipine safe to take?Since I am 38 only what would be its long term effects. That is taking the drug for over 30 years? Finally whether the dosage may be changed? Please help.

I was just prescribed amlodipine for my gastritis how ever I can't seem to find any info about it being helpful for that. All the info I have found is about blood pressure. Is this a common prescription? Should I be concerned if I already have low blood pressure?

Hi. I take quite a bit of meds everyday for my blood pressure and anxiety. My list is Lisinopril 40 mg, Amlodipine 10 mg, Clonidine .1 mg, labetalol 300 mg. All once a day except for my Clonidine which is twice a day. I have an erectile dysfunction issue that I would like to correct. Is there any medications I could take that will not kill me that will go along with what I take everyday?

I had been taking Amlodipine for a few weeks and BP rose. Doctor has increased to 5 mg. Not sure how long it will take to reduce BP. Has anyone any experience with Amlodipine? How is it? Any adverse side effects?

I am a male 70 years of age. I have been on 150mg Irbesartan and 5mg Amlodipine daily since October 2010. This controlled by BP within acceptable limits. Since late April, however, the systolic has risen to an average of around 150. My doctor wants me to add a beta blocker to the other medications. Since last October my heart rate was averaging below 60. Since late April it is averaging around 70.

They started me on losartan 50 mg and amlodipine 5mg. And for some reason it seams like it is not going down, so I went to the ER and they increased my amlodipine to 10mg and adv me to contact my primary dr that following week. Called the dr that next week and he increased my losartan to 100 mg and amlodipine to 10 mg, 1 each per day. However it seems like my bp is still hanging out around the upper 180's.

The brown discoloration is caused by the swelling. I looked it up and swelling of the ankle area was the most prevalent side effect for amlodipine. Thirteen percent of users experienced swelling. I got off amlodipine 2 months ago and have not had an episode of swelling since. It may take years for the brown to totally fade.

Yesterday morning i took my thyroid pill on an empty stomach, then around 6 i took my famotidine i ate breakfast around 7 and i took a 1mg of Ativan, and My Losartan 100mg which is a blood pressure pill and Amlodipine 2.5mg which is a small dose, also my Metformin after breakfast too. All day i felt tired i was feeling weak like i was going to fall out and i was crying a lot.

I'm 280lbs, 6'1, obviously overweight, I am quite muscular due to being very physically fit at one point in my life, so more muscle than flub. I have recently been prescribed Amlodipine-Benaz 5/10 MG capsules for treatment of hypertension. However, my resting pulse rate has consistently been in the 90's and increasing into the 100's at time, so I have been prescribed Carvedilol to help control the heart rate. My question is, doesn't Carvedilol control hypertension as well...Why should I be taking carvedilol in addition to amliodipine?

Amlodipine and Lisinopril have different mechanisms of action... These medications are prescribed depending on the status of the patient(co-morbidities or other diseases)... For example, Beta-Blockers(a class/group of anti-hypertensives) is not given to a hypertensive patient with asthma since this may exacerbate/worsen the asthma... Better a consult your doctor...

Hi I've had a positive ANA ranging between 1:80 and 1:160. I have also been testing positive for U1-RNP range considered positive is 81 or higher I was reading at 114. Now all of the sudden my U1-RNP is considered normal at 60? I have not been on any medication this far except vitamin D 50,000 and amlodipine 10mgs 1 per day. I've been having severe muscle weakness. My dr. sent me to a vascular dr. To have a muscle biopsy done.

I was on amlodipine for essential HT. Due to pedal edema changed over to Cilnidipine 20 mg . Now BP not getting controlled and followed with too much Ectopic beats.
