amitiza

Given your prior problems with anorexia, you know you can't mess around with severe dieting, but you might just see if that small a reduction has an effect. Aim for only one pound a month of weight loss, nothing more, and see where that gets you.
I get tired very quickly and must take a nap when I get home to reenergize. My hands and feet are constantly cold, I have loss of appetite, and today I weight 196 pounds. I have gained over 50 pounds in 4 months. Most of the weight appears to be in the thighs and abdominal area, I am also very irritable and depressed. Could this be Thyroid/endocrine related. I am a very health conscious person.

My psychiatrist is weening me off the Lexapro and is giving me Topamax which should induce weight-loss and also lessen the side effects of going off the Lexapro. Unfortunately, there is a lot of side effects of Topomax as well but weight gain is not one of them and need to loose the weight now !!!!
Hi i'm 76 years age female with stomach pain, bloating, constipation and weight loss. I've been in hospital many times in the last year and had all the ct scans, ultrasounds, blood tests etc and been seen by many gastroenterologists. they haven't been able to find anything other than say I've got constipation or that I have IBS. I also went to a digestive centre to see a gastroenterologist who took samples of my stools to test for parasites & bacteria.
my symptoms are weight loss, severe constipation, headaches, bloating, gas, and loss of appetite. Ive had and endoscopy, colonoscopy, cat scan, xray, multiple blood tests, allergy tests, diabetes test, fructose intolerance test, and stomach motility/emptying test and the doctors haven't found anything except lactose intolerance. I tried an IBS diet but that did nothing to alleviate my symptoms (it might have even made the worse especially the bloating).
This also causes a loss of appetite; as such this is accompanied by weight loss. So, record your temperatures, on a two hourly basis to detect an evening rise of temperature. Please check with your doctor to rule out this condition. Regards.
i also get like a burning feeling in my stomach on and off too. i have diarriah on and off too and occasional constipation, when the spasm and pain is severe i feel freezing cold and get incredibly shakey. i have tried various painkillers and buscopan and peppermint capsules all offering no relief.
I have seen 4 different doctors getting various opinions that range from a regular dr who put me on Amitiza low dose and when that didnt work recommended me to see a gi dr. That GI dr told me "oh its just IBS..nothing we can do for you." Then I went to the city to see a dr at a well known university hospital and they ran a million and one tests on me........... 1.
I am not the most articulate writer, nothing I write here could really express the difficulty I had in getting tests done and getting a diagnosis, or the total loss of hope and sad days. All I can say is don't give up, and keep trying if you know something is wrong. It seems like the answer will never come but all it takes is that one test or procedure and now you've gained your hope back. I will let you all know how it goes in the coming weeks!
Doc is out of town right now, but when his nurse calls me with the results, I will mention my weight loss to her. In the meantime, I am trying to eat higher calorie foods, and trying to eat things I like just to eat, rather than worrying about whether it's vegetables and fruit as I had done for so long, in order to get the bowel moving. I've started drinking whole milk with whatever I am eating. I seem to feel less nauseous when I drink milk, I noticed. I miss enjoying food.
My symptoms are abdominal pain that is usually under the left rib but sometimes under the right or just complete upper in general and sometimes it spreads to my lower stomach and back, weight loss, nausea, dizziness, constipation, pale stool, bloating, loss of appetite, and intolerance to cold. I am so desperate for an answer because i feel like the lexapro will not work. I have been taking it for almost a month now and at first i believed i was getting better but now Im back feeling miserable.
Hello and hope you are doing well. Activia is a probiotic. Lactulose is a synthetic sugar used to treat constipation. it can help regularize bowel movements. Gabapentin prevents pain-related responses. The mechanism by which gabapentin exerts its analgesic action is unknown. Hence your doctor would have prescribed it for the pain. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
There has been a continuous loss of weight and he now weighs a meagre 42kgs. This constant abdominal discomfort is distressing and making him lose interest in all activities of life. I want to know :- 1. If any effective relief can be given to my father & how ? 2. If it is possible to eliminate the trauma & discomfort resulting from constant pressure, squeezing and rumbling in the abdomen ? 3.
I think everything is over and I clean up. I walk out of the toilet and in about 2 minutes time the stomach cramp and the fainting sensation comes back (I've fainted only once to date from this and was out for about 15-20 minutes). 6. When I get back to the toilet I have a really violent Diarrhoea episode in pure liquid state.
Can you please help me with suggestions I am having weight loss, not sleeping and can just barely function enough to hold down my job.
I have tried medical marijuana, it does help, but doesnt relieve the pressure balloon in my stomach. I even try exercise, yoga, and weight loss but still no luck. Seroquel is very expensive, and I really hate to depend on it. If I could get stomach relief I would not need the Seroquel. I don't want to try other drugs. I have tried hot tea, pine nut oil, peppermint oil, and nothing works. I even get mad and yell at my own stomach because I can't figure it out.
gastroparesis. Many with this condition have severe constipation. And also have PAF. Leg problem was low circulating norepinephrine, which was a problem after I had been sitting for a while. Just a thought.
Thanks. I find that eating less fiber and especially carbs, or a liquid diet, sometimes helps. How is ur weight? I am pear shaped, range from 150-160 and I'm about 5'5". I think I'm about 155 right now. When I exercise I feel a bit better, but I don't lose weight. I even did a women's bootcamp 5 days a week for 2 months and didn't go down any dress sizes. I suppose I'm average but I can stand to lose some weight.
becoming beligerent at times, occasionally argumentative (she's always been easy-going and very sweet) edgy, double-vision, memory loss, sometimes hallucinates... I could go on and on. Now, I just now learned that her doctor had put her on Paxil way back in November. I am the family member who is supposed to be notified whenever any prescription changes happen. I was not notified. We're going to see a new doctor on Wednesday.
The cramps were really horrible, so I quit. AND, calling it dieters tea didn't work for me,no weight loss! not that I wanted it for that, but still...didn't work. I am still using Miralax and Senokot S. Gastro doc wants me to use this medicine, Amitiza. But I don't like what I am reading on the internet on it, so haven't started. Let me know how you are doing!
I have fatigue, constipation, swelling hands, shortness of breath, High cholesterol, brittle nails, bouts of anxiety, Abnormal menstrual cycles and heavy when I had one (hysterectomy-just cervix and uterus due to fibroids) , decreased libido, Weight gain or increased difficulty losing weight and other vague symptoms. I recently found out I had allergies. I was allergic to 32 out of the 38 they tested. I recently (2 years) developed those symptoms.
severe constipation (don't go for 2 weeks and when I do its rock hard and barely anything). I have seen a total of 7 doctors and have 13 tests/procedures done. I currently am on the waiting list at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesotta. Here is what I have had done so far.... 1.) Sigmoidoscopy Result = hemmrhoids internal due to straining, some irritation and redness but biopsies say no cancer 2.) Upper scope = some irritation and redness but biopsies say no cancer 3.
My family knows what is going on and is able to see that I am doing everything I can to maintain, but those who do not know me as well have made a few comments about having an eating disorder because of the weight loss, vomiting, and frequent bowel movements. There are a few people who are convinced I am intentionally causing these things. Those who believe this do not understand what happens when you remove the colon.
