Ambien withdrawal dreams

Common Questions and Answers about Ambien withdrawal dreams

ambien

Avatar n tn My poor husband took me to doctors, medical tests, etc....The neurologist thought it was ambien withdrawal but the others weren't so sure since people go on and off ambien all the time....It took about 6 months to return to normal. If you are one of those who has this reaction, hope you have a large support network, and a faith community which helps tremendously. Just remember, you aren't going crazy, and you will have ups and downs in your recovery.
Avatar f tn When I went through vicodin withdrawal I upped the dosage to 10mg, which was my script max. I have had withdrawal symptoms galore. I got body jerks, metallic taste, no memory, disorientation, depression, anxiety, difficulty swallowing, breathing difficulty, panic attacks, vertigo, high to low BP... on and on. My dreams were vivid. The very slow taper and OTC drugs helped with the insomnia. Are you back on Lunesta?
Avatar n tn If you want to stop Ambien, do so but there are alternative drugs to Ambien. One of it is Elavil/Endep. It has sedative effects and is non-addictive. Ambien is intended for short-term use. You can discuss this with your doctor and ask for substitute drug as you want to do off with this. Also get a sleep test done to know present status. Do continue taking Omeprazole. Keep updating your thoughts. Take care.
Avatar n tn Ambien addiction is a serious problem requiring treatment. The signs of ambien withdrawal are insomnia, fatigue, sweating, stomach cramps, and panic attacks. You should consult your doctor to seek appropriate professional treatment if you want to discontinue Ambien. You should not attempt to stop taking them on your own.
Avatar f tn I have been having lots of dreams....which I cannot remember the last time I remember ever dreaming...is this related to tapering off hydrocodone? These four days have been difficult; however am wondering if the worse is yet to come?
Avatar m tn Sorry for the long winded question, but I want to get all of this information out. I have been having weird sleep issues recently, and I suspect it may have been the Ambien i was taking. I have always had a slight phobia of going to sleep since what happened in the past (hypnic jerks when dozing, and being up for almost a week). Ambien is what originally allowed me to sleep. I was stable for many years, but I still had an uneasiness about sleep just by looking at my bed.
Avatar f tn How long does ambien withdrawal last? I have been off of it for 3 -1/2 months and struggle terribly w/ insomnia. I was on it for 4-1/2 months and it made me very sick with gastrointestinal problems, acid reflux, burning swellingin mouth, white tongue, etc. Doc did not diagnose, and said my symptoms were all caused by anxiety.
Avatar f tn Hey Shiann, I am not familiar with Ambien withdrawal. I was taking percocets but I am here if you need to talk.
18070169 tn?1463175914 re right, a ct off ambien cr is not recommended ... or ambien i think. i believe that ambien is not a true benzodiazepine but it acts like one / is similar. getting off both is very, very difficult, and you need a lot of patience. except the eye thing, most of your symptoms sound like things i went through as well, though i was ct'ing off benzos at the same time.
Avatar m tn Even after one these horrible nights, I am MENTALLY sharper! I can think and recall things so much more clearer. That is something you wont realize until you get off. I have not experienced lower back pain like I did while on it. Bowels more consistent. The BAD: I feel like I could punch somebody's face out if they looked at me wrong. In other words, I have been extremely irritable and not fun to live with. Of course the nights of not sleeping well fall into this category.
Avatar f tn Had some percs and vics to help me through the worst of that withdrawal (it was still awful) and ran out of those 2 days ago. Yesterday was my 1st day completely opiate-free, and I feel F*CKED. Couldn't sleep at all last night, I swear I am going to lose my job taking all this time off for the "flu," and I have a baby I've got to take care of during the day til my husband comes home. I have ambien to sleep.....last night was the 1st night it didn't work, AT ALL.
Avatar f tn I was okay and did my morning routine. However, I got 7 or 8 dreams and hellucinations for 2 days. These were withdrawal symptoms. I resumed taking my sleep meds. Now i am trying to tapper off xanax by .25. This is 6th day. After getting freed from xanex, I will try to be free from Ambien. My first two dreams were good. I meditated and saw balloons in human shape flying and in second dream I had strong pain and then relaxation bringing tears im my eyes.
Avatar n tn How long and intense will withdrawal be if I stop 4-5 vicodin a day that I have taken regularly for months?
Avatar m tn Hi everybody - Day 21 for me no Hydro. Things are looking brighter. Still have bouts of anxiety and depression and wake up about every 2 hours during the night.... I had a little run-in with Ambien along the way. Took 10mg for 12 nights then realized it was really making me crazy, and probably hurting my Hydo my withdrawal progression. Stopping the Ambien had it's own set of unpleasant withdrawal symptoms.... My Doc says I should be back to normal in about 4 weeks.
Avatar f tn If you use it to help with withdrawals such as insomnia, that's what it sounds like you asking, you're only substituting another drug in place of the other(s) . Then again, it's probably worked as a 'bridge' for some people to make the withdrawal easier. But as mentioned above, it is addicting and often just prolongs the process more.
Avatar n tn I was on 1.5 mgs of lorazepam, went down to 1 mg a day and was sleeping fine at first, now I'm having more anxiety and having trouble sleeping. I'ts been about a month. I am tempted to go back up to 1.5 again but i'm trying to remain strong. I'm even having to use some ambien to sleep and i'ts starting not to help. How long will this go on? and will my sleep pattern come back? Is it possible the withdrawls are actually getting worse?
Avatar f tn If you are missing out on time awake to join in on life, then yes I would encourage you to withdraw. I took ambien for the first few nights of my first withdrawal from opiates but I have no idea what to expect with ambien.. Keep posting and someone may relate or we will all support you in your decision to get off ambien.
Avatar m tn Hi and welcome, Ambien works the exact same way as benzos. If you looked up Ambien Withdrawal you'll find it's very rough to get off of. But I bet if you resumed your Ambien just as your doctor prescribed, it will eventually build back up in your system and let you sleep again. I have to admit, I'm like you and I second guess my doctor, but he always seems to know best. A couple of years ago I was on Ambien 10mg for just 9 months and it took me 4 months to taper off of it.
Avatar f tn Have you tried also taking Tylenol before bedtime, to keep the pain from waking you up? I tried Ambien and Ambien CR, I sleep well with it but it gives me horrible day-long headaches the next day so I've stopped taking it. I take a Clonazepam and a Benadryl before bed, Tylenol too if I think I need it, and sleep pretty well most of the time. Lately the dreams have been wild, though!
Avatar n tn She is suffering from post tramatic stress and has very real nightmares. It takes several hours for her realize they are dreams. She is sleep/wake having conversations she doesnt remember and and having conversations with us that did not happen, Sleep walking, cleaning.... Is this common and should Ambien be prescribed to teens with PTS?
Avatar n tn I had an allergic reaction to ambien so I can not personally reccomend it. However I loved my lunesta, it worked very fast. Now, just like with pain pills when you take sleeping pills be prepared to go to sleep. They are aiding you not making you go to sleep. It is not anesthesia so don't expect it to work as such. I no longer can afford the lunesta I go to my local VA for my medications and they don't carry lunesta.
Avatar m tn I hadnt been sleeping normally for about a week due a jerking awake sensation I would get while dozing off (hypnic jerk) I was recently put on Amitryptyline 25mg (to start} with Ativan as needed for sleep. I took them both the first night. The Ativan gave me a major buzz and knocked me right out. I slept 14 hours that night. Over the next few nights the Ativan seemed to have less of an effect on me to where I didn't really feel anything from it but it still seemed to help with anxiety.
1355301 tn?1287967641 Does anyone have issues with going into dream sleep but feeling like you are awake watching the dreams wishing you could sleep? I will wake up feeling like I have worked all night long. A friend told me that she learned in a dream class in college that you only remember your dreams is you wake up during them. My doctor disagrees. But it seems logical if I wake up remembering dreaming all night long and feeling like I haven't slept a bit.
Avatar m tn ve been getting 5-6 hours only with ambien and only had one night sleep without it and had vivid dreams. I've been eating good no caffeine no sugar before bed except Gatorade but I have to have my sleep! What can I do? The last 2 days I've worked out really hard hoping to knock me out! Also I don't nap during the day. Any suggestions? Please let me know what you think. God bless and stay clean 1 day at a time....
Avatar m tn It appears to be similar in efficacy and like Ambien is meant for short term use only. Unless you've tried it Rozerem is one alternative that unlike Ambien or the medication you mentioned or Lunesta does not have a potential for a person to build up a tolerance to it and is an FDA approved medication that works like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle. You could ask your psychiatrist about that.
491910 tn?1209366193 then 30...and so on until its 5 then jump off. I have ambien, rozerem scripts myself but stopped the ambien and made it a once a week or less thing because it can be bad news. You might want to see if the Dr will switch you to say lunesta and see if you can use that while getting off ambien or when you tapered low enough to jump and switch. Good luck.
