Ambien vicodin

Common Questions and Answers about Ambien vicodin

ambien

Avatar m tn I recently quit taking vicodin (4 days now, was taking 6-10 5mg or 4-5 norcos a day) after 3 years. I think the worse of my symptoms have passed, but still feeling pretty melancholy and having trouble sleeping. I was wondering if I should refill my ambien prescription to help with the insomnia. Ultimately I would like to be completely drug free, but I feel like taking ambien would help. I guess I should be asking my doctor this but I'm broke any advice?
Avatar n tn and he writes for Vicodin, and i used to take Ambien and I am no longer allowed to. But i recently had a spinal fusion, and i was left without my medication for day then week to week after the surgery , insurance, or not getting hold of the doctors, or they called into the wrong pharmacy. ( It was a nightmare ) So a friend im me hour of need help me sleep though some of the pain with Ambien.
Avatar f tn yes, I too was starting to take ambien to counteract my vicodin so I could sleep. At the same time, I found this forum. I became more aware of the ambien problem as well, so when I saw the valerian root I tried it. It really does work although if you just took vicodin, and drank coffee, I don't think it would work like ambien. I will be taking valerian root, walking, baths, bananas, getting up early, trying to go to bed early all of this before I take an ambien when I start my ct w/d.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure how long you've been using ambien. I used it for 9 months while on pain management with vicodin. I'm now off of both, but much to my surprise, the vicodin was much easier than the ambien for me to kick. I kicked vicodin cold turkey in February and started an ambien taper mid-march. I just finished with the ambien taper. Ambien can't be stopped suddenly; depending on for how long and how much ambien you've used.
1218318 tn?1266808601 My doctor gave it to me to help with sleeping on Vicodin. I soon noticed memory loss and an ear buzzing, but thought it was the hydro. My Ambien script was for 10MG a night. I mostly took 7.5MG. I thought Ambien was a wonderful invention. I could sleep well, and wake up without a hangover. Eventually I knew in the back of my mind that if I stopped I’d have a hell of a time getting to sleep, but thought it wasn’t really harming anything.
Avatar f tn I have abused Ambien for about three years. I normally take between 6 to 8 a day. As of today I haven't taken one in about three weeks. The physical withdrawal stopped after a few days but the mental cravings are driving me insane! I think about them all day everyday, I eat everything in sight trying to fill the empty feeling I have from not having them. I really feel like saying f*** it and going to getting some. Anyone with advice please help. How can I stop craving them?
Avatar f tn I did not take any Vicodin ... I took an ambien and a zanaflex ( short acting Muscle relaxer) last night to sleep. I just thought in 24 hours I would see something... and like I said ... I am in pain ... but its the exact pain I always have. So you think that my w/d is just going to take longer to start ... why ? can you explain...
1218318 tn?1266808601 I'm reading folks making mention of Ambien. I've gotten off of the pain management opiates I was using. I'm coming up on 60 days clean from those. WDs were tough but I'm clean now. God bless the NA/AA programs. But the Ambien I was on to help me sleep with my back pain and opiate brain is MUCH harder to get off of. The stuff is unbelievable. I never really gave the Ambien much thought as I quickly got hooked on it.
Avatar f tn Hey his is my first time posting I'm 29 I've been taking vicodin 10mg for almost 2 years off an on but worse in these last few months.
491910 tn?1209366193 ve been freaking out pretty bad, like bursting into tears, I have slight restless arms and legs and trouble sleeping sometimes (Though I do take ambien and that helps a great deal though to be honest I believe I am addicted to that but I'll cross that a little later I guess), do you think that because I haven't been taking it that long that maybe my withdrawals will be shorter or more mild?
501205 tn?1227345442 I was taking ambien for a little while. When I was recovering from a vicodin addiction, I took ambien for the anxiety DURING THE DAY! i know crazy huh? Heres a couple stories...I woke up in a bath tub, I peed in my dog's dish (luckily she didn't drink it), My girlfriend said I did an intense workout for a half hour non stop including jumping jacks ( i mean who does those anymore?
Avatar f tn I TAKE 100MG VICODIN A DAY ABOUT TEN A DAY AND 4 VALIUM AND 6 ATIVAN AND 2 AMBIEN, I FEEL LIKE IM OVER DOING IT, WHEN IS TOO MUCH?
Avatar n tn I have been reading this forum for about 2 weeks, this is my first post-3 yrs ago I broke my hip/femur, I have been taking vicodin since then. I became very depressed and started taking Zoloft (antidipressant) and Ambien (sleep med)about 11 months after the accident.I now have hip arthritis. I have had a chroinc stomach ache starting 1.5 years ago. I was also drinking about 3-4 glasses of wine every evening. I never took more than 6 Vicodins in a day.Usually about 2 or 4.
Avatar f tn After reading all these postings, I do feel better. Have taken Vicodin for 12+ years following many jaw surgeries. Now have chronic pain with migraines. Everything I do (eat, talk, sing, laugh, sneeze) causes pain and migraines sometimes ensue. Was taking 3-5 vicodin a day, 500 mg, didn't think was addicted. Doc stopped my prescription because I refilled too soon. That was a shock. Decided ok, time to stop. So, last Wednesday at 2 pm, took last one. Went cold turkey.
Avatar n tn How long and intense will withdrawal be if I stop 4-5 vicodin a day that I have taken regularly for months?
Avatar m tn I feel like I'm in no place to give advice here, as I'm back on my Vics and beginning to plan a taper, however, the last time I went through detox I know that Xanax helped with my anxiety and Ambien did help with my sleep. I have heard all the Thomas Recipes suggestions but I just felt that after being a heavy opiate user and going c/t they just did nothing to help me. I wish they did.
Avatar n tn I was done and without contacting my doctor or thinking about further repercussions I stopped the Xanax, Vicodin and Adderall, I could have lived through the Vicodin and Adderall withdrawals without problems if Xanax were not in the eqasion but Xanax made and is making it living hell. After 3 days w/o Xanax I was tremoring and dillusional, couldn't think clearly and on full day 3 had a seizure which was witnessed by my husband and daughter.
Avatar f tn I had been on Ambien for less than a year. Mostly 7.5mg a night max. When I went through vicodin withdrawal I upped the dosage to 10mg, which was my script max. I have had withdrawal symptoms galore. I got body jerks, metallic taste, no memory, disorientation, depression, anxiety, difficulty swallowing, breathing difficulty, panic attacks, vertigo, high to low BP... on and on. My dreams were vivid. The very slow taper and OTC drugs helped with the insomnia. Are you back on Lunesta?
725350 tn?1318680468 My sponsor and I discussed it, and I went on Vicodin pain management. I had no choice. I also started Ambien to help me sleep through the pain. BAD MISTAKE! Now, 18 months later, I'm left with only the S1 injury as the last of the pain. I'm dealing with it through PT and I'm now off opiates for almost 60 days. I'm on a slow taper, getting the hell off Ambian. NA is saving my life.
Avatar f tn i am 18 years old, 5'6'', 123 lbs, and i am in the habit of taking 4-5 12.5 mg ambien cr a night. even when i take four, i don't really feel anything, so i take around 5 benadryl capsules to get at least drowsy. i'm also taking 100mg of zoloft, and 300 mg of welbutrin for my depression and anxiety. i don't know what to do. about a week and a half ago i went two days without it, and then i just couldn't handle it.
Avatar f tn I'm working on Day 9 of no Tramadol and Day 5 of no Vicodin. My problem is I'm having bad anxiety right before I go to bed cause I feel that I will never get a good nights rest. I seriously have slept 4 hrs each night since I've been detoxing. I have small children at home to care for and I can't be this sleep deprived, so I caved in and went to the DR yesterday and told him the TRUTH about what was going and why I started having insomnia.
Avatar n tn When I was told recently that the Tylenol on the Lortab was starting to affect my liver, I decided to stop taking all pain medications, a little over 10 days ago. The first 6 days, I replaced the liquid lortab with 2 Vicodin pills a day, the next two days with one pill a day, and then I stopped cold turkey two days ago. All of my side effects remain the same since the first day. Nothing has changed much; except I cannot sleep due to the restlessness on my legs, arms and hands.
Avatar n tn Im surprised this person is still walking and talking.........That is a whole lot of meds to be taking in a month.
Avatar n tn I am 24 weeks pregnant. I took prescribed vicodin in my first trimester while I did not know I was pregnant. My first OB visit while pregnant was at the end of my third month. I notified her that I was taken vicodin and she said it was not a problem. She also told me not to continue to take vicodin. Some days I would not take any and some days I would take one or two depending on the pain. I quit cold turkey about two weeks ago.
Avatar f tn Well today I woke up at about 4:30 am, did the dishes, started the laundry as I am supposed to do before the kids get up for school, and I feel great. Is this just one of those "highs" while coming off vicodin, or is this really me? I hope it is. Actually, I was reluctant to go to my sons baseball play off game last night because the social aspect just seamed too much. I got there, minded myself for a while then was a me a total jabber mouth and had great time!
Avatar f tn I would say you have legiitmate reasons to take the xanax, and wellbutrin, and ambien. but the Vicodin on top of this sounds like too much to me. The other 3 are legitimate for your diagnosis of depression, and yes people DO STAY on meds for the rest of their lives if they need to. I compare it to someone who needs insulin for diabetes, you need your meds for depression, it is a chemical imbalance in your brain.
