Ambien kidney damage

Common Questions and Answers about Ambien kidney damage

ambien

Hi, I did a search under Ambien and brain damage, because I've been taking it for a while (10 mgs) and sometimes with a couple of glasses of wine, and I feel STOOPID. I don't take it every night, but still... I'm wondering if anyone knows whether this impairment could be permanent or not. Please email me at ktg_5000***@****!!! thank you!
I'm very upset right now because it took a chiro to figure that out! Has anyone experienced kidney problems/disease while on this?? I've just about had it with these doctors. I knew all along it was a pain I never felt before, but as usual, they don't listen. I've just about had it with my doctors.
I was precribed Klonipin for 10 years along with ambien and an antidepressant. For 5 of those 10 I was addicted to Klonopin, ambien and started drinking. At the end of my addiction, I was taking handfuls of klonopin and sleeping pills a day. I also drank two bottles of wine a day with them. I wound up overdosing on a coctail of klonopin, over the counter sleeping pills and alcohol. When hospitalized my doctor had to take me off Klonopin fast in order to get me into a rehab.
32 am and I took my pill at 12:00 and I am still awake I also take xanax 1/2 hour before my ambien and I do not sleep through the night I am up at least 6 times. I was thinking about stopping it if it does do damage to your body. but after 11 years it may be hard to do.
Dogs, cats, birds and other small mammals (ferrets, gerbils and hamsters) may develop serious stomach and intestinal ulcers as well as kidney failure. 2) Acetaminophen (e.g. Tylenol) When it comes to pain medications, acetaminophen (e.g. Tylenol) is certainly popular. Even though this drug is very safe, even for children, this is not true for pets—especially cats. One regular strength tablet of acetaminophen may cause damage to a cat’s red blood cells, limiting their ability to carry oxygen.
Frequent urination itself is not thought to cause renal damage unless the CAUSE of the urination has caused kidney damage for example a bad kidney infection. Life expectancy for people with diabetes(true diabetes, not prediabetes) is reduced mainly because of possible complications . But these can largely be prevented with good care. I do not know if all of your concerning symptoms stem from your pre-diabetic stage. Take care and certainly seek out the opinion and guidance of a specialist.
Your doc may prescribe your meds but the HYDROCODONE / ACETAMINOPHEN is not good for your liver and depending how much you are taking may damage you liver just when you are trying to heal it. "If you do NOT have liver problems, the adult maximum dose of acetaminophen is 4 grams per day (4000 milligrams). If you take more than the maximum daily amount, it may cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease.
Honestly I don't take much of anything except an occassional tylenol or advil - everything is really toxic to the liver since it has to process it and the less you put in the better. Of course that said I DO take ambien and paxill every day now so it's like being a real hypocrite!

They have the potential to be both curative and to buy time by holding or reversing damage. I wonder if anyone is persuing trying to discover and eventually mimic chemically exactly what it is that occurs when the body reverses liver damage? It would be wonderful if research could figue that one out. But I would imagine that there are a great many factors that take place all at once - making the basic research of it extremely difficult.
Tonsils and adnoids removed, gallbladder removed, breast reduction surgery, exploratory surgery(lower abdomen), right ovary and tube removed, appendix removed, kidney stones removed, and on the board is removal of many large polyps located in both sinuses removed. I have seen a doctor and currently see dr's for about every system and specialty in the human body. My diagnosis and symptoms are as follows: Lupus( one opinion, one Dr who saw me in hospital says no!
Had to buy a tempurpedic that does help with the nerve pain and nerve damage that you have post surgery. I am afraid that too much damage has been done to get out of this hole. I pray for all patients and every person that has to deal with chronic pain. So...I think my question is has anyone heard of any adults having a rib cage rebuilt?
Does that have anything to do with the Hepatitis? And could long term use of pills Ambien,Prozac etc... have caused the liver to be extended? She also has a thyroid condition and graves disease?
My neck has Degenerative Disc Disease C3-C5 in which my neck hurts and my right arm has pain and my hand goes numb,(which I toss and turn all night) even taking ambien, this I haven't told my Doctor about because I am having so much pain in my lower back, I am very tired or fatigued all the time, and could sleep the day away. My children think I am depressed, on top of this I just found out I have a Herinated Disc in the low portion of my back.
The previous poster is right!
We have spoken to our Primary care Physician and G.I. Doctor. He was prescribed Ambien, and it helped for several nights, but is now not working. We are still in the staging portion of diagnosis. He also has iron overload, and there has been mention of a theraputic phlebotomy. His fatigue has him in his chair most of the day. He is unable to work and we are looking into disability. I am in need of some information on medications to help his pain and sleeplessness.
Thanks Bill The doctor put him on Propranolo 10 mg X2 when this was discover back in Feb 10. He is also taking Lasix 20mg X1, Aldacotone 50mg X1, Ambien 5mg for sleep, Forinal for headaches, which are pretty much daily. Plus daily vitamins with an extra B complex. He has been tired and no energy for the past month and a half. Then the bleeding started. The specialist is now seeing him every 2 months. First the past 2 years it has been every 3 months. Also his afp is elevated.
It's all I got left! Actually I think that's my Ambien buzz...I thought the eating in the middle of the night thing was most likely fake until I found myself sitting in the middle of my bed with a mallomar cookie in my hand at 4am......I must have been asleep for a while cause it was really melted to my skin... So now I"m sure that the Ambien buzz is a real thing...if only I could find out if the OTHER side effects from it are true!
I have too much other things to deal with. I was recently hospitalized for a kidney infection which was the most painful experience of my life! They first have me Morphine which gave me migraines. Then I was on Dilaudid for a few days. That helped greatly. I went back to my doctor today cause the pain in my Kidney is coming back. I haven't had to take meds for it till the past few days. He gave me Oxycodone. I have taken it a few times before, and I think i reacted well to it.
Research suggests that some of the proteins found in cryoglobins react against components found in the peripheral nerves, causing inflammation. Nerve damage can eventually result in a loss of nerve control in the extremities, causing nerve pain, abnormal sensations and impaired muscle control.
Main side effects I had were nausea, fatigue, anemia, shortness of breath, insomnia, migraines and chemobrain (yes it’s real)- my oncologist proscribed Ambien to help with sleep. Today I am taking no medicines. Note your oncologist will probably have you get lung tests periodically to ensure that the Belomycin is not causing any damage. Some people actually gain weight during treatment (I did) but I have now lost my Chemo weight. Rather than losing appetite I was ravenous. Hair?
Ok, I too have tried everything. The one thing we need most of is what we feel we have the least of...and that my friends is all, in the end, help us get through the sickness. I just know it. We have to fight for "Our" Lives. Liver damage, kidney damage etc. We will die if we do not stop. Ihave to have this attitude guys. It makes me fight for the only one true thing I have to myself...and thats my life and my sons life. Im only on day two and barely day two.
I had a kidney stent removal today at about 1230, its now 1040pm and im in excruciating pain, taken demerol, will pain subside
My pain started in 8/06, primarily in my mid-spine and right back flank by my kidney. Pain was stabbing and burning. After an extensive workup, docs decided to try removing my gallbladder to see if that might be the cause. I had that done 9/25/06. Two days later, I developed a PE (blood clot in my right lung), was admitted to the hospital and put on blood thinners. Five days later, they found I was bleeding internally from the floor of my liver bed.
1mg (which is being given for nerve pain but was originally used, years ago, for high blood pressure.) I take Ambien, 10 mg. as needed, though I try to stick with melatonin (though these nights sleep doesn't come very easily.) And I've been taking Ativan 1 mg. 3x/day as needed for the past month due to some major stresses. I'm getting really worried about the swelling. (Of course, I've let it get to 5 o'clock and can't call the doctor.) Has anyone experienced this at all?
It seems to be the most commonly abused opiate these days or on this forum. Sometimes I think people would be better off on oxycontin because it won't damage or shut down your liver but it can shut down your heart and lungs from overdose a lot easier than vicodin.
and various kinds of pains and aches in the gut areas (stomach/intestine/kidney/abdominal/chest...),and a general feeling of exhaustion, these are more intense than then my usual sides. my dr is doing and schedualing alot of tests anyways,(bloods,ct scan, echocardiogram, heart halter monitor, endoscopy, bone density, and hopefully (or not?) something will show up as the cause. Advil seems to take the edge off and makes me more comfortable physically,as does just plain laying down...
I have been at or around this dosage since my daughter was born starting at 2 at a time and increasing the dosage now i take 3 or 4 and do not even feel any different but it does manage the pain somewhat. I am terrified that i will do irreversable damage to my liver and kidneys and i am having some kidney pain already.. I know this because i have had stones before and they hurt almost all the time now.

Had sleeping problems for awhile but got ambien to help with that. And anit-depressants for the depression. Seems to be helping. Drink plenty of water they say. And keep a positive outlook throughout. This fourn of people has been a great place to talk and gather information so you don't feel so alone going through it. Best of luck to you.
