Avatar f tn There is lot of mixed reaction from the users of Zolpidem to help sleep, it has done wonders in few people while few are not satisfied with its use or the side effects of the drug and its dependence. Ambien is meant for short-term use and not for years. I would like to suggest you to consult a sleep doctor and discuss the other options for alternate drugs. Take care and share your thoughts.
Avatar n tn I tried it for a day or two but I could not tolerate the side effects, so stopped. I have had to wait 2 weeks to get an appointment with my Dr. I will see him tomorrow. Meanwhile I now have an ever increasing heart rate and other symptoms mentioned in your website. How do I explain all this to my Dr?
739988 tn?1386672969 I feel for you, my doctor give me Zolpidem 10mg which is the generic for Ambien. There is also an Ambien CR. If you get it read the warnings carefully as its a very contravercial medicine. No not take at all if you are prone to sleepwalking! Safety first. I hope you get some much needed sleep. Sweet dreams.
Avatar n tn s generic brand for help with sleep (versus the standard Ambien, etc. and other 170 different OTC and RX that are available). I did not see Seroquel on the list and see that it is mainly for manic depression/ biopolar disorder, etc. Thanks.
Avatar n tn Treatment with Ambien may cause side effects like impairment of thinking or reactions. You may still feel sleepy the morning after taking the medication. In patients with liver disorder, a smaller dose of Ambien is generally prescribed. Ambien addiction is a serious problem requiring treatment. The signs of ambien withdrawal are insomnia, fatigue, sweating, stomach cramps, and panic attacks.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Ambien for a yr and a half. It isn't working for me anymore, so my neurologist prescribed Trazodone. I have had a lot more stress lately and this is supposed to help with anxiety and depression. I really hate taking anything new. I'm nervous. I have read the side effects. They always freak me out. Is anyone or has anyone taken this before? If so, did it help with sleeplessness? Thanks everyone!!
Avatar n tn the generic is the same im on it and have no side effects it could be your thyroid even when its controlled you can get symptoms check to see if you have a parathyroid problem and take a blood test for that.
Avatar f tn http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/zolpid_ad.htm Take care and update on the progress.
Avatar n tn Generic is not for everyone. The medication is the same but the base that a generic is put in is not. Levothyroxin had a very adverse affect on me. Tired, dizzy, and then only by what I can call them, brain flashes. I could see lights without having lights on. I knew something was wrong. When I asked, the pharmacy had chosen (Walgreens) to make a change to generic WITHOUT my consent because they thought it would be cheaper.
Avatar m tn I understand your reservations about taking an antidepressant for a different purpose, and I would like to present some information to you that might help you understand why your doctor might have chosen this medication for this purpose. Trazodone is under a large umbrella of medications called Psychotropic.
1246883 tn?1285547973 I immediately started to gain weight. And stopped the Seroquel immediately (mid Dec). I know this is one of the side effects. I gained about 5lbs. Being 5'9" and weighing 135, I felt the 5 extra pounds would come off with eating better and a few more yoga classes . But the weight kept coming. I got down to a dietary intake of about 1000 cals. But that mad no difference.
Avatar f tn ve seen what it does to my mom...anyone not have bad side effects like sleep walking, sleep driving or hillucinating?
Avatar f tn Your doctor needs to be made aware of the side effects you are experiencing with the increased dosage of Trazadone, and the only one who can help you taper off this med is your doctor. (And you MUST taper slowly) If your doctor tells you to just quit, please seek a seond opinion! Trazodone has two side effects that may be contributing to your sleep issues..........stimulation and insomnia. I think an in-depth discussion of meds is called for.
Avatar f tn My wife and another female relative have taken Ambien (generic) for years, and it still seems to work/help. I do not know what the W/D part of your subject is about.
Avatar n tn The other common side effects of Ambien are headache, dizziness, mental clouding, daytime drowsiness and allergies. Hence, it is advised you visit your doctor if you are experiencing any such side effects. The drug is considered safe for a period of two to maximum six weeks for the treatment of insomnia. If taken for a longer duration, one may develop dependence on ambien. You should discuss with your doctor about the risks of taking ambient for 2 weeks or longer.
Avatar m tn I do NOT tolerate these tablets as well and have also tried the 10mg capsules with the same effects (less effective more side effects- nausea, dizziness, fat face, racing thoughts, decreased libido, nightmares, sleep disturbances, etc.).. I have called several pharmacies but they all have the blue tablets too -_-... Th side effects persist even after a month on the different pill forms too.. Any options left? Or must I suck it up and take a pill that makes me sick or discontinue usage...
