Ambien for recreational use

Common Questions and Answers about Ambien for recreational use

ambien

Avatar n tn Has anyone seen anything about the use of ambien for treating brain injury? I've seen some stuff about coma recovery, but nothing on general brain injury. I suffered a cerebral hemmorhage many years ago (22) and presently suffer from short term memory trouble and visual impairment (hemianopsia). About 2 years ago, I experienced insomnia and wa sgiven ambien. Since then, I've taken approx 5mg nightly and have noticed a substantial improvement in my short term memory.
410221 tn?1227631837 Ambien is good choice for treatment of insomnia, but it is intended for short-term use. Elavil/Endep can be tried if not comfortable with Ambien and it is non-addictive. If still you don’t feel any improvement consult a sleep specialist and get sleep test done to know present status. Do take Omeprazole to counter gastric irritation. Keep updating your thoughts. Take care.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the Input :) yeah its no where near the opiates but I am not as comfortable as I was with kratom. Although I do have a bit more energy ( but I still have that really weak feeling like opiates). As I said I don't have any more money, til Friday and if I can hang in there til then, which I have to, lol, I will be fine. I get mine from a head shop so its really accessible if I have money.
Avatar n tn And I am not even sure if you could call coke use recreational - for the people that really like it (your BF is one) there is no recreational use a time or two a month or whatever. Its a slow ride downhill to all of the negatives you have heard about it. I cant make your mind up for you - but I would say if your BF says he wont marry you without the other girl along .... send him packing. Perhaps have him read some things from the Grandfather of coke himself - Sigmund Freud......
Avatar m tn Otherwise all drugs are krap to me, recreational use? What is that????????? I often thought I could use recreationally, trust me I was wrong. When in doubt, go without!!

Avatar m tn Hey was wanting to see if anyone could shed some light on this for me. I have been up 51 straight hours with one nap in between, and I have a full work day ahead of me and really in need of SOME sleep. Anyways detoxing from hydrocodien today is day 25 I've been off opiates, and didn't want to risk taking something that can affect my healing process. My uncle gave me 2, he knows my current situation and it said ambien wasn't an opiate and could help.
Avatar f tn I have been on and off Adipex and Ambien for 2-3 years. Usually after 8-10 months the weight loss doctor takes me off for like 6 months and then I can get back on. Now I’m starting have some ED issues. Sometimes can’t get fully erect and some times I ejaculate before I get fully erect. I recently started having this issue. My sex drive has been down too. I’m curious if the long term effect of Ambien and adipex is causing this issue?
Avatar n tn as many can take narcotic for short term pain relief and ambien as need for sleep...I will not blame the drug...i will blame myself and this is one of the first steps towards recovery for me...i have never blamed lortab for my addiction...it stated it was for short term use only and i used it for 3 years...often above the prescribed dose...it is all my fault...i am sorry if the way i feel is not the way u feel....if u wish to go on blaming the drug that is ur right...
Avatar f tn I have been taking Ambien every night for about 4 years. How do I stop - can it do it cold turkey or should I taper. How long should it take me to get off of it completely? What should I expect to deal with when I stop taking it?
481056 tn?1240138727 You posted asking if it's ok to use recreationally not long ago, I think you got your answer just like we told you. Addicts can't use once, it just opens the door for us to spiral down and with each relapse it gets so much harder. Are you really ready to quit, because your stealing his pills and thinking 1 here and there is ok. You should focus more on the mental part, than w/d's, get some type of aftercare and talk to your hubby about this again.
Avatar n tn To joke about some one considering taking cocaine for recreational use who has had three bypass surgeries and is taking blood thinners is just a little reckless. Takes all kinds I guess........................
Avatar f tn If he took it every day then he will definitely get some withdrawal symptoms. Ambien is generally not meant for every day long term use as a sleep aide. It can be addictive. Rozerem is a much safer option which is non addictive and works exactly like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle. You can't determine long term side effects from a medication after two days. The body takes a while to adjust. They are always rebound symptoms as well.
Avatar f tn Does oxycontin as recreational use exhibit symptoms of indifference and apathy and unconcern over everyday obligations and responsibilities which prior to use were contradictory to the persons character. In other words a complete change of personally untecogisable by loved ones?
Avatar f tn cj gives good advice; benzos are for anxiety, not sleep. I would recommend you try melatonin or Calms Forte or some other natural remedy, or even a sleep center, before you do medication for sleep. But if you do decide on meds, at least use one that's designed to help you sleep like Ambien, not a benzo.
Avatar n tn NOT FOR LONG...YOU MAY START OUT ONLY ON WEEKEND BUT IT WILL escalate. i used coke for 5 years heavily and i started out only on the weekends. before long it was everyday all day and every night all night. it is a horrible drug the eventually completely robs you of yourself.
518798 tn?1295212279 Those are also meds that can be addictive but help get over the w/d symptoms and if you have the right frame of mind then you take them long while your symptoms last. The doctor is there also to help weight the potential problem versus the medical condition (that's if it's not recreational use). Ambiem previously only used to be prescribed in 7 -10 day increments and then 30 day now you can stay on it permanently. For example a patient that has Fibromyalgia...
Avatar m tn Can you try melatonin or another natural sleep aid? The longer you take Ambien the longer it will take for you to be able to fall asleep naturally. On the other hand, I know insomnia is maddening. I would try something natural. Take a hot bath or shower before bed, buy some sleepy time tea and try melatonin. Hope that helps.
Avatar f tn I am, or should I say was, a recreational drug user. In the last two months I smoked pot regularly and took approx. 3 vicodin 10mg and 1 percocet 10mg to help with back pain from a car accident. I don't regularly use pain meds and am far from addicted, I am just so worried that those couple pills hurt my little one. :( help!
