Common Questions and Answers about Ambien for plane

ambien

491910 tn?1209366193 Wow, you are taking a huge amount of Ambien too. I took ambien for 6 months 10 mg every night and it took me several months to be able to sleep normal. Doctors are over prescibing this medication to people that are not abusing it and they are having terrible problems coming off of it. The ambien website tells you never to use it more than 7-10 days. You really should be under a doctors care to taper and w/d from the ambien. And I doubt any over the counter sleep aid will help you.
12796163 tn?1436135189 I was having horrible pains since last night. Anywho, my doc prescribed me Ambien to take in order for me rest. Anybody taken this before?? During pregnancy?? Reading up on it makes me nervous.
Avatar f tn I flew early in my 3rd trimester. My doctor said after 32 weeks I couldn't travel by plane any longer. I wore compression stockings, drank tons of water and walked around the airport to help my circulation.
329994 tn?1301663248 That is so weird. I will see if somehow I have blocked you but I don't believe so. Maybe it is a glip on Medhelp!! LOL - right now I don't even want to see a plane. My poor son spent 3 days getting here, he was flying standby and now he is trying to get home and can't.
Avatar f tn htm#27 that there is no medicine that will help with the psychological aspect except for a medicine with benzo-like qualities, Ambien was one mentioned. I also have Trazadone. Just wondering if anyone knows about this, thanx.
Avatar f tn The thing I found with ambien was it would produce almost exactly 3.5 hours of sleep for me and I would pay for it the rest of the next day.
Avatar m tn 53 YO Male - I took ambien every day (10mg) for about 7 years with no problems. Late last year I went through a short bout of depression and insomnia kicked in - and still persists. I weaned off ambien and for 2 months took no meds, and got about an hour of sleep per night. I then tried anti-depressants, lunesta, melatonin, hypnosis, acupunctire all with no affect.
Avatar n tn Has anyone seen anything about the use of ambien for treating brain injury? I've seen some stuff about coma recovery, but nothing on general brain injury. I suffered a cerebral hemmorhage many years ago (22) and presently suffer from short term memory trouble and visual impairment (hemianopsia). About 2 years ago, I experienced insomnia and wa sgiven ambien. Since then, I've taken approx 5mg nightly and have noticed a substantial improvement in my short term memory.
1218873 tn?1300091216 I take 900 mg of Gabapentin, 50mg Tramadol, 10 mg of Zolpidem (generic for Ambien). It takes 2 hrs for mine to kick in sometimes but I get about 6 hrs of undisturbed sleep. Many times, when I wake I have nerve pain in my right upper shoulder/armpit area. I have tried all sorts of over the counter sleep aides and this is the only one that doesn't make me feel yucky the next day.
Avatar n tn Ambien acts just like a benzo and should be treated as such. It's very easy early on to look for pharmaceutical solutions to physical and mental problems. It's the very definition of an addict. Bite the bullet and wait for natural sleep to come. Ambien is a scary drug that has taken many lives. It's just not worth the risk.
Avatar m tn I thankfully have kicked Percocet, Xanax, and vicodin, separately, over the last year. And that other one. Those were huge steps for me. The last drug on board this body is ambien cr... And it's time for you to get off the bus! (im all enthusiastic now...lol). My addictions started when I lost my last and closest blood family member, my dad. It was a long painfull passing. He himself, addicted to painkillers... But a good dad. I love him so much. Why am I stopping? Fear.
1845824 tn?1333374427 I was put on ambien for sleep and klonopin for anxiety. I want to take a nap but can't took my benzo and still can't. Took two and still can't... I dont want to trade drugs. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.. feel low and alone. sux 9 days no opiots.. Whats goin on?
Avatar f tn It seems that every time I stop taking ambien for a few days and I'm feeling side effects. When I wake up my head is killing me, my kidneys are killing me, and I can't stop sudden movement. I have tried to stop several times though my doctors and with therapy but its like nothing works. I try to stick with it but if I have to deal with worst side effects. I can't believe I've been in this mess since '09 and I'm taking too many to even my prescriptions out.
1428440 tn?1287390379 Hi everyone I have not around for a few weeks I have not been feeling to well. I am here for some ideas and advice. I went to the suboxone doctor on Monday and I tested positive for benzo's. I was stunned when the test came back positive. I have not taken anything that is any form of a benzo and the doctor says that not any of the medicines I am on could cause a positive test.
Avatar f tn I will try breaking the pill in half for the next few days so it will be 3.25. I have taken Ambien before but never for a month.
906819 tn?1242453662 My own opinion, and it's only an opinion, that none of these drugs was intended to treat sleep problems. They're way too strong for that. (Well, Ambien was created for sleep, my bad). You've been treated with antipsychotics, and yes, they are sedating, but sedation isn't sleep, it isn't a natural sleep cycle.
277836 tn?1359666174 s an old school antidepressant with sedative properties, so make sure that your doctor knows about all meds (especially the antidepressants) if you consult with him about it. Melatonin worked well for me, too. If you just want off the Ambien, then ween down. abrupt CT off of Ambien can be dangerous. It acts just like benzos to our brains, so be careful. Get some aftercare as well. Talking to other addicts can get your brain to quiet down and get you through cravings.
Avatar m tn I am sure everyone has heard about the missing plane. I have no link to share because it's everywhere. Wondering if anyone has any theories. I keep seeing terror being talked about but I think trying to make that connection is stupid right now.
Avatar f tn should i fill it or let it be? I have horrible pms and will need something for it when it hits! Is ambien alright to take to sleep also?
Avatar f tn I was on ambien for 2 years, 1 10mg a night. The Dr. gave me a script for amitriptyline and that did the trick. I got off of it after a month then had dental work and started taking the ambien again. I'm back on the amitriptyline again. Will get off of it in about a month. Hope this helps.
1202033 tn?1273771354 So, i have a short script for ambien, to help with my sleeping problems and anxiety. Anyways, i was wondering, when i run out will i have to go through the withdraws again??? Anyone who knows more about this, please do share!!!!
Avatar n tn The drug is considered safe for a period of two to maximum six weeks for the treatment of insomnia. If taken for a longer duration, one may develop dependence on ambien. You should discuss with your doctor about the risks of taking ambient for 2 weeks or longer.
