ambien for fun

I have been taking ambien for severe insomnia for about 5 years. I have never needed more than one pill a night. I have never taken more than prescribed but I cannot fall asleep without one pill. I am now pregnant, and i am cutting the pill in half. It is still working for me and I can get a few hours of sleep but IM still concerned that I am addicted to this.

I couldnt sleep last night and took an ambien for the first time in awhile and I have to say those are bad pills. I always thought they were okay for me but I made the mistake of taking one and not going to bed right away and I have no recollection of what I did for the last half hour before bed. I was just reading my post to Courtney and I cant even remember typing it -- let alone what it said.

I was on ambien for 2 years, 1 10mg a night. The Dr. gave me a script for amitriptyline and that did the trick. I got off of it after a month then had dental work and started taking the ambien again. I'm back on the amitriptyline again. Will get off of it in about a month. Hope this helps.

I was having horrible pains since last night. Anywho, my doc prescribed me Ambien to take in order for me rest. Anybody taken this before?? During pregnancy?? Reading up on it makes me nervous.

Hi~ I'm glad you posted this. But,sorry for what you're going through... I am not a fan of Ambien. Although I think sleep meds and anti anxiety meds have their place, not one is useful long term. Ambien has some very weird side effects for many people. I've witnessed this first hand. My Mom took it for a brief period until I flushed it!! She was doing some strange things in the middle of the night...anyway... Some folks need help with sleep,RLS etc..during withdrawals.

Ive been on ambien for 6 years. I buy it from a pharmacist and only allow myself 1 per day, always before bed. I find that it doesnt work like it first did but fortunately Im really strong and able to keep it at one a day. There have been times I didnt have it and could not sleep at all... I went once for about 8 days without it and I was like a zombie, it was hell not being able to sleep and my heart racing all night long... Also, ambien makes you do the craziest things.

Good morning. I slept all night again. That's just crazy! I swear this gabapentin is magic! I also took an ambien. Slept for 8 hours. I feel like crap when I'm up, but at least I'm sleeping. Only 50 hours in. It makes a ton if difference. Maybe its good karma for fighting going back on these things. Whatever it is I'll take it. Ok day 3 let's get this over with!

htm#27 that there is no medicine that will help with the psychological aspect except for a medicine with benzo-like qualities, Ambien was one mentioned. I also have Trazadone. Just wondering if anyone knows about this, thanx.

It was in the morning and it was my birthday and i fugured what a fun present but my period wasent due for another 6 days , so i took first response digital that i had and i was 100% sure it was negative until i saw YES + ..... I started crying lol i was so nervous !! Cuz we didnt plan it ..

The thing I found with ambien was it would produce almost exactly 3.5 hours of sleep for me and I would pay for it the rest of the next day.

I was using about 8 hydrocodone 10 mg each day for the past year. I was also abusing ambien because the hydro would cause me to not sleep, so I was taking about 6 Ambien a night, too. I was shaking and having terrible tremors from the Ambien detox, and I was beginning cold turkey from the hydro as well yesterday. I sought out help at a detox center. They gave me some medicine to help me sleep and stop shaking. I finally slept last night.

53 YO Male - I took ambien every day (10mg) for about 7 years with no problems. Late last year I went through a short bout of depression and insomnia kicked in - and still persists. I weaned off ambien and for 2 months took no meds, and got about an hour of sleep per night. I then tried anti-depressants, lunesta, melatonin, hypnosis, acupunctire all with no affect.

Has anyone seen anything about the use of ambien for treating brain injury? I've seen some stuff about coma recovery, but nothing on general brain injury. I suffered a cerebral hemmorhage many years ago (22) and presently suffer from short term memory trouble and visual impairment (hemianopsia). About 2 years ago, I experienced insomnia and wa sgiven ambien. Since then, I've taken approx 5mg nightly and have noticed a substantial improvement in my short term memory.

Ambien acts just like a benzo and should be treated as such. It's very easy early on to look for pharmaceutical solutions to physical and mental problems. It's the very definition of an addict. Bite the bullet and wait for natural sleep to come. Ambien is a scary drug that has taken many lives. It's just not worth the risk.

Wow, you are taking a huge amount of Ambien too. I took ambien for 6 months 10 mg every night and it took me several months to be able to sleep normal. Doctors are over prescibing this medication to people that are not abusing it and they are having terrible problems coming off of it. The ambien website tells you never to use it more than 7-10 days. You really should be under a doctors care to taper and w/d from the ambien. And I doubt any over the counter sleep aid will help you.

I thankfully have kicked Percocet, Xanax, and vicodin, separately, over the last year. And that other one. Those were huge steps for me. The last drug on board this body is ambien cr... And it's time for you to get off the bus! (im all enthusiastic now...lol). My addictions started when I lost my last and closest blood family member, my dad. It was a long painfull passing. He himself, addicted to painkillers... But a good dad. I love him so much. Why am I stopping? Fear.

I was put on ambien for sleep and klonopin for anxiety. I want to take a nap but can't took my benzo and still can't. Took two and still can't... I dont want to trade drugs. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.. feel low and alone. sux 9 days no opiots.. Whats goin on?

It seems that every time I stop taking ambien for a few days and I'm feeling side effects. When I wake up my head is killing me, my kidneys are killing me, and I can't stop sudden movement. I have tried to stop several times though my doctors and with therapy but its like nothing works. I try to stick with it but if I have to deal with worst side effects. I can't believe I've been in this mess since '09 and I'm taking too many to even my prescriptions out.
