794496 tn?1351040555 I need to decide whether to book some flights over the next few days for travel in April/May. If I do get my BFP I would be travelling to California (from east coast) for three weeks for a course (weeks 7 to 10) THEN my mil just this weekend asked if we would go with her to the old country (Bulgaria) for two (weeks 13 to 15). I am concerned as this is a pregnancy that is 4 years in the making and I don't want to do anything that would jeprodize it.
Avatar n tn I had a lumpectomy 6 months ago (with sentinel nodes) followed by radiation therapy. My profession includes air travel and after my last long haul flight I have swelling and tenderness under my arm extending to the breast and it is very painful to extend my arm. What can be done to reduce the pain and swelling and should I see the surgeon?
Avatar f tn I think it depends on your pregnancy but my doc told me that air lines are generally ok for woman to fly up to 30 weeks.
Avatar m tn My mother underwent an angioplasty about two years ago and she has to take an air travel for about 03 hours. Is is advisable.
Avatar n tn My son has swelling on the brain and fix have bleeding but that has now stopped. He is in ho chi Minh city hospital and I want to get him home to the uk. Will he be able to fly as these injuries only occurred 5 days ago??
Avatar f tn Stay hydrated and get up once an hour to stretch so you don't get blood clots. I flew across the US when I was 33 weeks and it wasn't to bad. Just be sure to bring snacks and drink lots of water.

Avatar f tn Has anyone traveled by air during their 3rd trimester? I wasn't planning to travel at all but my boyfriend's family wants to throw a baby shower for us in another state. The flight is only 2hrs. I'd be around 32 weeks. Is this a good idea? I'm really skeptical.
Avatar f tn Also after having sex its good to cycle your legs on air, helps the eggs to travel
Avatar f tn I will have to travel by air during my 3rd trimester. Just wondering what is the latest I can safely travel. This is my 2nd pregnancy with no complications as such. My doc says 28 weeks is fine. M thinking of stretching a bit more.
Avatar f tn I feel you might have taken quite few medications for your sleeplessness over years and so want to stop further. Ambien is good choice for treatment of insomnia, but it is intended for short-term use. Elavil/Endep can be tried if you are not comfortable with Ambien and it is a non-addictive drug. Try to relax and plan a healthy sleeping habit on a long-term basis. Avoid coffee/tea, smoking, alcohol and a bulky spicy meal at nights.
Avatar m tn This will sound nuts, but it works. In the AM when you wake up. Put a bright light behind your knees for 5-10 minutes. I have use a 6" fluorescent. Do this one or two days. I don't know how it works for w/ds, but it works great for changes in time or travel.
Avatar f tn Usually post decompression surgery patients are advised to wait for 2-4 weeks before resuming air travel. However, the time to air-travel recovery may vary with individual and with the reason for surgery, and with post surgery complications. Hence, it is wise to resume air-travel only after consulting your treating doctor. Take care!
Avatar f tn I read in one of my pregnancy books that all air travel is fine during pregnancy except small un presurised planes. Like the ones used for short or interstate trips. Check that the specific plane is ok. Something about the altitude and the babies oxygen/ability to self equalibrate or something. Sorry my answer is so vague...
Avatar f tn s a lot) The cold air blasted my *** off the couch! I should have done that earlier. I put a load of wash in and ran the dishwasher. I took a couple of Excedrin. That probably didn't hurt anything. I know I have to keep moving no matter what. But it sure is hard when you hurt. But I hurt with the pills. ;-) Having said that, to all the newbies "KEEP MOVING" Hope the rest of the day is good to everyone.
1318202 tn?1274307827 Has anybody tried micro refrigerators on car/air trips? Two, which look quite nice are: Koolatron Medical and Cosmetic Fridge and Medi-Fridge IIx Micro-Refrigerator (both can be fetched from Amazon). The latter is for diabetics, but maybe it could hold a few interferon syringes?
1110049 tn?1409402144 Make sure you have taken your dog for a good run in the fresh air. That he has not only just eaten, but ate a few hours previously. Then, when you have a happy well-exercised dog, both of you get in the car, and drive a very short way, (no more than a mile) then stop, both get out and go for a short walk. Get back in and drive a little further, then take your dog for a run again in the fresh air, preferably in a park or field. Make this whole adventure just that....an adventure!
Avatar f tn Just found out i am pregnant and me and hubby are moving frm state to another next week and driving 19hrs..
Avatar f tn Yes its safe to travel by air in pregnancy.most airports operate a different system, but since your only in second trimester.and only hour journey, you will be fine...
Avatar n tn Live you life. Air travel is not a problem (unless a person has had intraocular surgery and gasses were put in the eye). Also turbulent air is not a likely cause of an RD. See the world.
