Avatar n tn Ambien CR does come in 12.5 mg -- I have some. the regular ambien does not, but ambien CR does. just clarification.
Avatar f tn I have non-alcoholic cirrhosis which is just waiting for the transplant stage even though it could be many years off. It was discovered that I was suffering from major depression due to a grief issue. The liver diagnosis come on very quickly and my grief was apparently put on the back burner. They call it delayed grief syndrome. I have a wonderful therapist and psyche. Of course the psyche manages my drugs in conjunction with my liver doc..
Avatar m tn I can tell you from experience, both Ambien and Ambien CR are notorious for causing odd behavior. I had to quit taking Ambien CR after it stated causing anxiety and pacin attack issues. Regular Ambien caused my husband to rise an hour after going to sleep and go down to our garage and work on his bike until 3:30 AM, when I realized he wasn't in bed and found him downstairs asleep.
Avatar f tn I started taking Ambien & Prozac in Oct 2009. I started building a resistance so my doctor prescribed for me Restoril, that didn't work so she started me on Lunesta. After I started building a resistance to the Lunesta my doctor prescribed for me Ambien CR 12.5mg. It's now March 2010 and I need 4 or more Ambien CR to sleep. I can't sleep without it!!! I haven't taken the CR 12.5mg in 24hr and I have the common addiction symptoms.
739988 tn?1386672969 I feel for you, my doctor give me Zolpidem 10mg which is the generic for Ambien. There is also an Ambien CR. If you get it read the warnings carefully as its a very contravercial medicine. No not take at all if you are prone to sleepwalking! Safety first. I hope you get some much needed sleep. Sweet dreams.
Avatar m tn i have been on clonazepam for many months and ambien cr i am having problems with thinking straight, and i believe it is the clonazepam not the ambien cr.
763205 tn?1234422576 I have been taking Ambien/Ambien CR for several years now. I switched from the regular Ambien when the Ambien CR became available. Two nights ago I took my nightly migraine medications and my Ambien CR. I remember being awake for about 45 mins after that and then I remember nothing. Some how I was unconscience when I took 8 more Ambien CR 12.5 mg. I remember nothing after that. I went on a wild rampage in my room and destroyed everything in sight and I do mean everything.
Avatar n tn Hi. The lexapro didn't work for my anxiety, but did help with depression. I was only on it a short time. Have been on trazadone for many years. It helps with falling asleep (not with staying asleep though). Didn't have a problem getting off the lexapro. Tried once to get off the trazadone and the only problem was insomnia. I've tried both Ambien and Ambien CR and neither one work at all for me - trazadone works better than ambien for me.
Avatar m tn Fear and anxiety have gripped me... These are the downstream effects of ambien. It started with forgetting things. Things at work. People's faces and roles. I feel like I have alzhimers. This has lead to an enormous amount of stress, moreso manifesting later in the day ( grinding my teeth and really bad lower back spasams). It's been like this for about six months. My other detox lasted over last thanksgiving, and I made it through. I can do this. No pills in the house. Guilt.
Avatar n tn I believe most of the problems he is suffering from are side effects of the restoril. His doctor switched him to ambien cr without warning of withdrawal side effects...after a suicide attempt. I thought he was going to go crazy...jerking; crying out; standing still clutching his chest with look of horror on his face. This went on all day long. We thought it was the change to ambien (only drug being used and only change).
Avatar n tn my family doctor had prescribed Ambien CR 6.25mg pills last month and they did absolutely nothing. I am really getting worried about alot of things lately, sorta depressed i guess, because some weeks i only get 1-3hrs of rest(not sleep). i have a job that i like, but its very phisicaly demanding and ive been making alot of stupid mistakes lately due to not getting sleep; cann't consintrait, horrible mood swings, head aches, back and knee pains, and sometimes stomach pain.
Avatar m tn t wait untill you are in the sun to put them on!!!! I take Ambien CR and it works, just be careful of side effects like sleepeating and one that I have taking more Meds while asleep. I have to make it difficult to get to the meds like putting them in another room and locking the door ect. Once you figure out how it effects you you can take measures to combat side effects. Good luck and may you sleep soon and sleep well!!!
Avatar m tn I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!
783281 tn?1259691431 Look at all the posts of the shear terror, blackouts and horror Ambien and Ambien CR facilitate. I would bet that your EXTREMELY rare comment gave many struggling addicts an excuse to take more drugs. Look what happens to your sleep pattern after you take those for a couple weeks. Please, re-consider your advice, you may have directed someone down a road other than abstinece. Recovery is not about managing drugs, it is about managing your life without drugs.
Avatar m tn I started taking Alprazolem for anxiety 15 years ago. Since then I only take .5mg at night to help me relax and fall asleep. I now find the the 1 pill at night is not helping me sleep. So I started taking Ambien CR and stopped taking the Alprazolem. I'm sleeping great, but feel terrible in the morning. I feel nausea and tingling numbnest in my arm and face. Do you think its from the Ambien or from me stopping the alprazolem. Any advice?
Avatar m tn Ambien CR costs $200 versus $6 for the regular stuff. We did talk about it, and I wanted it, but at $200 a month it just ain't gonna happen. So I'm sticking with the Ambien for now. I don't really want to take higher dosages of temazepam. And like you say, getting off of ambien isn't that difficult, just a bit time consuming as you ramp down the dosage.
Avatar m tn I've been having non stop anxiety and insomnia for two months now. The shakiness and anxiety effects me almost during all my waking hours, which is a lot since I can't sleep either. My doctor gave me 10 mg of Lexapro that I have been on for a month, Ativan 1 mg, and Ambien. The Lexapro is doing diddley as I feel worse than I have before ( anxiety, plus headaches, loss of appetite, and my hair is falling out).
Avatar f tn Is it ok to take Ambien CR (6.45mg) together with my maintenance Clonozepam pill (.5mg) when I really cannot sleep? Been taking Clonozepam each night for as long as 15yrs.?
478403 tn?1266546009 30 PM it starts to take effect a hour to two after I take it. I sometimes go into a fog where it feels like I'm in a bubble listening to someone talk and I can't really comprehend what they are talking about. My tongue does not work right and I studder sometimes which I never did before. I can't come up with simple words to put in a sentence to finish it. My fingers, hands and feet feel like there is glass in them and I have a feeling of shaking but it's only inside.
Avatar f tn Still have some anxiety but am menopausal also. Do have a few side effects (ear ringing being main 1 but I thought it was a small price to pay for NO panic attacks. Now all I see is horror stories. Any 1 out there have positive experience with this drug?
1102799 tn?1269237714 Ambien generally gave me a buzz when I took it at night, I would feel euphoric (but no sleepwalking) - I do not have this side effect with Ambien CR. I guess one needs to be careful with all of these sleeping pills!
Avatar f tn Hey, regular ambien effects last right around 4 hr. max and ambien cr which is controlled release is 8 hrs..the ambien, chemical name is Zolpidem, which is considered a "z" class sedative/hypnotic and is pretty potent can cause all the side effects- the memory loss, problems concentrating and especially daytime drowsiness is definitely a common problem...the usual starting dose for ambien is typically 5 mgs to 10mgs for either wd'ing detoxing and usually is prescribed for insomnia.
Avatar n tn Treatment with Ambien may cause side effects like impairment of thinking or reactions. You may still feel sleepy the morning after taking the medication. In patients with liver disorder, a smaller dose of Ambien is generally prescribed. Ambien addiction is a serious problem requiring treatment. The signs of ambien withdrawal are insomnia, fatigue, sweating, stomach cramps, and panic attacks.
Avatar n tn I was given Ambien CR to stop me from waking up so much up in the middle of the night. It caused me short-term memory problems, too, but the problems went away after I stopped taking it. I had a really bad problem with doing stuff in the morning and having no recollection of what I did. I'd actually do quite complicated things, too, like have breakfast, a conversation with my partner and check my email. Personally, the stuff creeps me out.
