ambien

1102799 tn?1269237714 LUNESTA!!! Although i have not taken it since being prego ...if your DR ok'd ambien then Lunesta is ok as well. It works MUCH better...i hated Ambien.
Avatar f tn I started taking Ambien & Prozac in Oct 2009. I started building a resistance so my doctor prescribed for me Restoril, that didn't work so she started me on Lunesta. After I started building a resistance to the Lunesta my doctor prescribed for me Ambien CR 12.5mg. It's now March 2010 and I need 4 or more Ambien CR to sleep. I can't sleep without it!!! I haven't taken the CR 12.5mg in 24hr and I have the common addiction symptoms.
Avatar n tn Which sleep aid is less addicting and less toxic, ambien or lunesta. I have heard ambien is hard on your liver.
Avatar f tn It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.
323551 tn?1255174750 ambien nor lunesta are benzos...caution must be used especially on a medicaation used for sleep...sleep is priceless to many and psychological...and/or physical addiction is very easy to any sleep med that u depend on every night....i think the worst thing possible is for someone to depend on a true benzo for sleep tho...
202665 tn?1248806733 I've had the same problem... there's a certain window of opportunity for the Ambien to take effect... and if you don't snatch it, then you can feel wired, but tired at the same time. you might want to have your doc prescribe the Ambien CR instead, it's a controlled release and I find that it works pretty well... Also, may want to try Lunesta, if the Ambien is no longer working for you... but those drugs are supposed to be for temporary use only...
Avatar n tn I used diphenhydramine (Benedryl) to sleep while on TX, starting with 50 mg and working up to 200 mg by 6 months of TX. Lunesta and Ambien are also excellent, but have more side effects and slight withdrawal issues.
Avatar n tn I was on the Ambien CR for a while and that actually seemed to help more, but unfortunately, my prescription insurance coverage stopped covering the CR, I'm guessing because that is the only Ambien formula that does not currently have a generic form. I have tried both Sonata and Lunesta also for sleep. The Sonata did absolutely nothing for me and the Lunesta gave me wicked hallucinations. My doctor also tried me on trazodone, but it had the opposite effect on me and made me super hyper.
Avatar m tn Ambien CR costs $200 versus $6 for the regular stuff. We did talk about it, and I wanted it, but at $200 a month it just ain't gonna happen. So I'm sticking with the Ambien for now. I don't really want to take higher dosages of temazepam. And like you say, getting off of ambien isn't that difficult, just a bit time consuming as you ramp down the dosage.
Avatar n tn Ambien will help you get some sleep so yes I would say it is good. I worked for a Dr. before and the highest dose I saw given was a total of 12mg. So if the tab was 6mg then the patient could take 2. Taking 2 10mg of ambien seems a little high to me.Maybe someone else could answer better than me. I am one of those people that ambien doesn't work. I have tried Ambien cr, Lunesta (sp?) and regular Ambien and still couldn't get any sleep.
Avatar m tn I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!
Avatar n tn I have a terrible sleep disorder and have tried numerous products to sleep @ night ie: Lunesta, Ambien, Ambien CR, Remeron, etc. The best thing I have found, and it's non addictive/no side effects , to take a benedryl 1/2 hr before I go to bed. Make sure to get at least 6-8 hours of sleep.
1201433 tn?1328997637 Hi, I was on Lunesta for the entire tx and it worked great. Ambien comes in two forms one is extended ambien, do you know which one you are on? You should talk to your Dr about which one you are on.I took regular ambien long before tx and it didn't work too well for me either. Best of luck....
Avatar f tn t said if he is taking Ambien or Ambien CR. The Ambien CR helped me MUCH more than the regular Ambien. Of course I never slept the whole night through but a few hours then I'd wake up about 2 but I was able to go back to sleep usually even if it was several times a night. Good luck, I've never been much of a good sleeper but if it gets that bad I would seek out a sleep clinic doctor place - he could have sleep apnea or something that is compounding the situation.
Avatar n tn I am having to take sleeping pills to sleep. I tried Ambien, Ambien CR, Lunesta, and amitriptyline. Each medicine would only let me sleep for four hours a night. So I am taking the Lunesta right now. But it is very hard functioning during the day as I am very fatigued. My body previously was use to getting 8 hours of sleep a day. Do you know of any other medicines that would help with longer sleep? How long does it usually take for the sleep to return on its own?
968560 tn?1307451498 Post-TX, the riba sticks around and screws up your sleep for a little while. I had to use AMbien and Lunesta. I alternated them and was on them for a few months. They say no dependence but that's not exactly true. I have switched to benedryl for the last 3 wks. to help with stopping the sleep meds and will see if I can sleep without the benedryl this weekend.
Avatar f tn Hello again everyone! Boy it has been a very long day for me. I woke up yesterday morning a little after seven a.m. and have been awake since...unable to sleep. I have been off the Oxy's for almost a full well but ran out of my Ambien on Saturday. I am thinking the new insomnia has more to do with the Ambien than the Oxy's. I was taking 1 sometimes 2 Ambien a night to fall asleep....
Avatar n tn Yes, I have tried ambien, and ambien CR, and had to discontinue/stop it due to having long laps of forgetfulness. Not good! I tried Lunesta, and it is ok, however, my insurance won't pay for it, and I can't afford it. SO the doc thought this Klonopin would do the trick, but I didn't expect tears. Maybe it is relaxing me enough to release tears for all the high stress I am going thru!!! didn't think of that until reading all of the above.
Avatar n tn But hes also not an addict of any sort. Ambien CR is scary. When it starts to work I felt like I was paralized. I was awake but could not move my body. I wouldnt have been able to get up if I was on fire. Good luck to you. This is just my 2 cents!!!
Avatar m tn I returned to the United States from a 3 week vacation to New Zealand / Australia in late November - the time zone difference was 16 hours. The first night back, I was able to get a full night's sleep, however, since then my sleep has been limited to 5-6 hours per night (before the trip, I got almost 8 hours). Ended up getting an upper respiratory infection a few days after returning.
266660 tn?1189755834 Lunesta seems to work okay for me. I've only taken it three or four times (I only take it as needed and not on a nightly basis.) I was prescribed Klonopin for anxiety and sleep and she said to not take it with Lunesta (this is after I asked *her*, she didn't mention it until then.) The Klonopin seems to work as well as the Lunesta, BTW. Kevin, I've read that Lunesta and Ambien are the same "types" of sleep aids but that is all I know. I hope Ryan can clear this up for us.
Avatar m tn i am currently on short term leave from work due to GAD and forms of panic disorder. My main problem was insomnia sleep maintenance. Tried Ambien, Ambien CR and Seroquel. to no avail. saw a sleep specialist and he put me on both seroquel to be taken with Lunesta. it all went downhill from there. to make a long story short, this is when i started having panic attacks.
2203249 tn?1338990446 Ambien CR Extended-Release Tablets 'All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome when using Ambien CR Extended-Release Tablets: Dizziness; drowsiness (including daytime drowsiness); "drugged" feeling; dry mouth; headache; muscle aches; nausea; nose or throat irritation; sluggishness; stomach upset; weakness.
Avatar n tn The nausea may just be a side affect of ambien. I love lunesta but do to the cost, I usually end up with generic ambien. Lunesta's patent has not expired yet.
649598 tn?1239117215 Sleeping pills, i.e. Ambien, Lunesta, Seroquel, don't work on me. I don't know if this is physiological or what, but I am sick of my insomnia. Has anyone else been so immune to sleep aids? Any comments are welcome.
Avatar m tn Personally I have been able to work my way through a list of meds to find one that works for me; Trazodone, Rozerem, Lunesta, Ambien, and finally Ambien CR which I consider a miracle drug. Hope this helps and hope you decide to see your doc. Good Luck!
