I agree with what vicki said too. You have to decide, do it and then find something else to help the pain. It takes a strong resolve no matter how you decide to do it. If your not using the Ambien CR, and just Ambien...I would swtich to the CR. It helps you sleep longer (from experience). The benadryl is probably what is causing the "fog" the next day. You could also try clondidine for a week or two, .1mg twice per day. It will help you sleep at night, as well.
