Ambien cr and klonopin

Common Questions and Answers about Ambien cr and klonopin

ambien

Avatar f tn I started taking Ambien & Prozac in Oct 2009. I started building a resistance so my doctor prescribed for me Restoril, that didn't work so she started me on Lunesta. After I started building a resistance to the Lunesta my doctor prescribed for me Ambien CR 12.5mg. It's now March 2010 and I need 4 or more Ambien CR to sleep. I can't sleep without it!!! I haven't taken the CR 12.5mg in 24hr and I have the common addiction symptoms.
323551 tn?1255174750 If your not using the Ambien CR, and just Ambien...I would swtich to the CR. It helps you sleep longer (from experience). The benadryl is probably what is causing the "fog" the next day. You could also try clondidine for a week or two, .1mg twice per day. It will help you sleep at night, as well. I have had luck with the clonidine and am using the Ambien CR right now as I taper down.
Avatar n tn Yes, I have tried ambien, and ambien CR, and had to discontinue/stop it due to having long laps of forgetfulness. Not good! I tried Lunesta, and it is ok, however, my insurance won't pay for it, and I can't afford it. SO the doc thought this Klonopin would do the trick, but I didn't expect tears. Maybe it is relaxing me enough to release tears for all the high stress I am going thru!!! didn't think of that until reading all of the above.
Avatar f tn 30 for work. I have tried klonopin, ativan, ambien cr, tonight for instance i took 1 ambien 4 1/2 mg of ativan and 1 1/2 mg of klonopin and i am wide awake. Not quit sure the difference between adderall and benzo's. I used to be on ridilin and now am on dexedrin which are both uppers but have sleep side affects that are supposed to make you sleepy . I am at my whits end. sorry not really much of an advice more than a comment and trying to learn what other people are trying.
290532 tn?1308136770 I'm on Day three of a quick taper off Tramadol with the help of my Phsyc. She gave me Pristq for depression, etc...., chlonodin, and klonopin and Ambien CR for sleep. I'm getting through the days fairly well, just SUPER groggy which I'm thinking will subside as I continue and only plan on using the chlonodin, klonopin and ambien through like 10-20 days of withdrawal symptoms.
290532 tn?1308136770 I tapered down to 6 and then saw a doc and got on Prestiq (anti-depressant), Clonidine for the withdrawal and Klonopin for Anxiety and she gave me Ambien CR for at night and in 3 days, I went CT yesterday. At first it really took away the WD feeling, but last night it was torture. I took the ambien, the klonopin and I took .1 mg of clonidine. and my legs were driving me absolutley insane, up all night in pain. My question is, can I take a higher dose of the .
Avatar m tn I started taking Alprazolem for anxiety 15 years ago. Since then I only take .5mg at night to help me relax and fall asleep. I now find the the 1 pill at night is not helping me sleep. So I started taking Ambien CR and stopped taking the Alprazolem. I'm sleeping great, but feel terrible in the morning. I feel nausea and tingling numbnest in my arm and face. Do you think its from the Ambien or from me stopping the alprazolem. Any advice?
Avatar n tn Ambien CR does come in 12.5 mg -- I have some. the regular ambien does not, but ambien CR does. just clarification.
Avatar n tn I was drug tested for my job twice (once when I started as a temp, second when I was hired) my prescription medication (Paxil CR, Klonopin, Ambien and assorted cholestorel medication) were not reported from the screening. With the exception of some pain killers (usually opiates) these do not show up in a routine drug screening. I am not sure (as Paxiled mentioned) jobs that require quick reaction time, as Klonopin will slow these down. Hope this helps you!
1166402 tn?1303847056 I just started 20 mg of generic Celexa (3 days ago) and the doc also gave me Ambien and Klonopin (take .25mg) to relieve the anxiety until the Celexa kicks in. I wake up shaky/hot and kind of panicky. Which drug is this from drugs, or is it still the anxiety. I know this takes time, but I don't want to mess with any drugs that might be making the symptoms worse (i.e Klonopin or Ambien). I also don't want to become dependent on the Klonopin and ambien either.
763205 tn?1234422576 I have been taking Ambien/Ambien CR for several years now. I switched from the regular Ambien when the Ambien CR became available. Two nights ago I took my nightly migraine medications and my Ambien CR. I remember being awake for about 45 mins after that and then I remember nothing. Some how I was unconscience when I took 8 more Ambien CR 12.5 mg. I remember nothing after that. I went on a wild rampage in my room and destroyed everything in sight and I do mean everything.
Avatar n tn Ambien will help you get some sleep so yes I would say it is good. I worked for a Dr. before and the highest dose I saw given was a total of 12mg. So if the tab was 6mg then the patient could take 2. Taking 2 10mg of ambien seems a little high to me.Maybe someone else could answer better than me. I am one of those people that ambien doesn't work. I have tried Ambien cr, Lunesta (sp?) and regular Ambien and still couldn't get any sleep.
Avatar n tn does anyone think that ambien cr will help with sleep while going through withdrawls???
Avatar m tn When drug companies lose their patents such as in Ambien and Paxil, they change the formulations, such as in CR, and wham, they have the patent again. I think 30 Lorazapam cost me 81 cents and 30 Paxil 40 cents.
Avatar n tn i have been taking lortab 10/500 & ambien for about 7 years. i am currently taking hydrocodone compound 15mg(5day), klonopin& alazopram, phentermine(3day), and when i fill a script for ambien i will take up to 7 late afternoon. i will also take the ambien and klonopin throughout the day if i am out of pain meds. i dont know were to start, i have hit rock bottom. i try to stop taking one then start abusing another.
Avatar m tn I've had tinnitus now for 6 months. It all started when I did a few lines of cocaine in November of 2007. Shortly after I developed serious sinus problems where I had major swelling on the inside of my nose along with pain on the bridge. And then........I woke up with ringing in my ears 1 1/2 weeks later. The ringing got louder as the sinus problems continued. Short of 3 sinus infections to date I really don't have too much to complain about with my sinuses.
Avatar f tn Then a visit to my PCP for the Orthostatic Hypotension and he told me to go off those two drugs and gave me a script of 3 days with 1 refill of Ambien CR to see how I would react to that. After the 3 nights I started sleeping 18 to 20 hours of a 24 hr. period plus felt completely out of it. A call back to him and he said he just didn't know why I was doing that and suggested I should talk to my psyche about it which he was supposed to have done.
1102799 tn?1269237714 Fairly soon my Ob-gyn switched me to Ambien CR 12 mg and this worked quite well (1/2 at night and 1/2 in the middle of the night) - I definitively prefer Ambien CR to regular Ambien. PS: be careful if you try to switch to Lunesta, a friend of mine did that and he started to sleepwalk!!
653169 tn?1303446369 t get adequate sleep the worse its getting. I take ambien and klonopin 1mg twice daily. Has anyone got any suggestions? I would appreciate anyone's comments or further questions. My meds help, but obviously are not fully effective currently. I've been on the same ambien dose for years, and have been taking klonopin 1mg twice a day. Do I need to have my Dr increase the doses or is there anything else I can try first.
763205 tn?1234422576 How many pills did you take after going back and counting the tablets? It's not uncommon for people who take ambien or Ambien Cr to not remember doing something. They fall asleep and don't know they're sleeping, so the end up taking more pills because they don't remember taking the 1st one and the cycle keeps on going. I've heard horror stories of people racking up credit cards, diving and cooking while on Ambien.
1323549 tn?1276178147 My doctor put me on trazadone. I dont know if you can take that with those other meds... I have never heard of Pamelor.... I was sleep walking... doctor said I was stressed and it was the only way my body could deal with it.... when I was supposed to be sleeping!
Avatar m tn I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!
Avatar m tn i have been on clonazepam for many months and ambien cr i am having problems with thinking straight, and i believe it is the clonazepam not the ambien cr.
Avatar f tn If you use it to help with withdrawals such as insomnia, that's what it sounds like you asking, you're only substituting another drug in place of the other(s) . Then again, it's probably worked as a 'bridge' for some people to make the withdrawal easier. But as mentioned above, it is addicting and often just prolongs the process more.
774736 tn?1311331385 My shrink put me on Paxil (antidepressant) and Ambien (sleep pill) and Klonopin (anxiety). I was weaned off Ambien after 6 mos. but kept on Paxil and Klonopin (as needed). These really helped me through. But be careful on Paxil , because it is very hard to wean off. Talk to your psychiatrist and see what's best for you. Any antidepressant will have side effects.
Avatar n tn Ambien (zolpiedem) helped me. It works quickly, doesn't give a morning hangover and is pretty cheap as it's available as a generic. I haven't tried the Ambien CR (time released, non-generic). Only thing about ambien is that, for me, I wake up after about 6 hours. But those 6 hours are pretty solid sleep.
Avatar f tn Then, 30 minutes before actually going to bed I give him Ambien CR. The regular Ambien was not working at all. Ambien CR on the other hand seems to calm him down and there has been less action. I also placed a body pillow between us and that seems to curtail some of the aggressiveness. It gives him less space to move around and I feel safer. Yes, he speaks while he is asleep, (more of gurgutal sound than words) but it has come down a bit.
