ambien

1687929 tn?1319426011 I also take xanax so what I do is take my xanax an hour or so before going to bed and take the ambien when I go and lay down. When I was prescribed ambien I tried taking it while still being up and it didn't help me at all. Taking it right when I go to bed seems to help. I sleep a little longer and heavier. Hope this helps a little bit.
739988 tn?1386672969 I feel for you, my doctor give me Zolpidem 10mg which is the generic for Ambien. There is also an Ambien CR. If you get it read the warnings carefully as its a very contravercial medicine. No not take at all if you are prone to sleepwalking! Safety first. I hope you get some much needed sleep. Sweet dreams.
620048 tn?1358018235 Holy Smokes, Meg! :-O Yes, try the Ambien angle -try to wean yourself off it and try something different. You don't have a history of seizures, do you?
1102799 tn?1269237714 my firend took Ambien and ended up taking his car out after going to sleep and going to a bar and then smashing his car into a tree and woke up in jail. I was the last to talk to him before he fell asleep that night...he remembered nothing at all.
Avatar f tn Oh my gosh - @ essdipity - Ambien and Lunesta and sleep-eating! I'd forgotten all about that... LOL, do you know if friend only ever eats tuna in her sleep? I just wonder if some people have their certain "sleep foods" :) @HVAC, I was eating ice cream when I read your post and it made me start choking with laughter - "The odd thing is if people ask me if I am asleep I tell them yes," oh man!
206807 tn?1331936184 I took the regular Ambien and did the sleep walking thing too... and eating! One night I put the dog out.... poor thing! The next morning I thought I had dreamed it until I couldn't find her to put her out. Now I'm taking the Ambien CR and haven't had that problem... I think it is because it is slow release, so there isn't as much in your blood stream at one time. For me to be able to sleep for more than 3 hours a night, it is worth taking the chance. Insomnia is hell!!!!!!!!!!
480448 tn?1426948538 Zolpidem is commonly found in both generic and name-brand sleep aids. Ambien and Ambien CR are probably the most recognizable prescriptions that contain zolpidem, but it is also found in Zolpimist and Edluar, according to the FDA's statement. Here is some of the key information to have emerged regarding the FDA's decision.
Avatar n tn listen to the peeps about melatonin...works great, no weird side affects and u don't get dependent on it.....use it to taper down off Ambien. U can even start it on a low dose of Ambien and that might help taper....although I wouldn't exceed 1 mg.
Avatar f tn The person is not consciously awake when sleepwalking, and yet if you saw someone sleepwalking, they look awake. They can come into the living room, sit down in a chair, open a magazine, and all the while technically be asleep. The explanations I've read have to do with part of the brain failing to turn off during sleep. And if you wake a sleepwalker, they are really disoriented and angry at you! Maybe this is what she does when sleepwalking.
355483 tn?1206186193 I sent you a website for info on ambien. Doctors are prescibing ambien for months and years and it can take up to 36 months to heal from it after complete cold turkey from the drug. Very scary drug more so than pain pills. Its very much like a Benzo.
Avatar m tn she may have been sleepwalking and come too and realized it and felt freaked out and scared (it can have that affect). What works for me (I really do it very rarely now) is to sleep with a fan on or something that makes white noise. It blocks out the sounds that wake me slightly . . . I will still jump out of bed and run to my kids rooms when they've made no sound and nothing is wrong----- but it is kind of like an instinct thing.
4998202 tn?1362222175 Thanks so much for your response to my question.. When I took the Saphris Thursday night the 1st night to use it, I slept extremely well better than I have in several years but then Friday night I took it and got real drowsy and laid down and couldn't get back to sleep so I got up for awhile and then after about an hour I laid down again and slept only about 3 hours and I stayed up.. Surely I will get more than one good night of sleep on Saphris..
Avatar m tn I am sleeping on a loft bed right now, and the other night i literally jumped from it in my sleep and landed on my feet and woke up. It was the most insane thing I've done in my sleep. Last night I walked down my ladder and started talking to my roommate. The weird thing is though I remember when i sleep walk. My anxiety normally has it's ups and downs, and i believe I sleep walk more when I'm having anxiety. I t's starting to worry me.
Avatar m tn When I was around 5 or 6 I was sleepwalking pretty frequently. I stopped sleepwalking around 8. Fast forward to 5yrs ago (I'm 59). I went into my house to get something to drink. I then went outside. That was the last thing I remembered until I woke up the next morning. My wife said we had fun with the grandchildren and had a bonfire. She said it was about 3 or 4 hours from the time I went outside until we went to bed.
Avatar m tn I have been taking Tamazepam for 1 year. I took Ambien off and on for 10 years ....I was sleepwalking and doing all kinds of crazy things on Ambien anytime I used it for long term use. Both make me hungry. On Ambien, I would get up and eat in my sleep. At least with Tamazepam, I remember eating a snack before bed.
Avatar n tn Sleepwalking can be dangerous, as the sleepwalker is unaware of environment and can injure self by falling or bumping into things. Sleepwalking seems to run in families and may also be provoked by sleep deprivation. Morning-evening walk, casual stretches, nutritious diet with lot of water or other liquids, hot shower and listening to soft music before going to bed can be soothing to mind and body so it may be of some help.
Avatar n tn he was still yelling at me about things that were about me and my life, but still calling me by his exgirlfriends name. i finally got him to lay down and he immediately fell asleep and when i woke up the next day, he didn't remember anything that had happened at all. could it be night terrors? or something more than that? this is the only time this has happened, he said he used to talk in his sleep and he screamed once in his sleep not remembering but other than that, nothing more.
Avatar m tn I tried everything over the counter, but nothing worked. I know you want natural remedies, but I had to resort to Ambien. I tried the name brand and started sleepwalking. I switched to generic and it works great. I was on 10 MG but now on 5. I am also ADD so I had to go strong. Sometimes you can ween yourself off meds.
Avatar f tn m worried something could happen in the future. If he picked up our baby whilst sleepwalking. what do you think and has anybody been through these worries?
Avatar m tn also Diane you may find or already have found out that you will need a higher dose to induce sleep the longer that you continue to take Ambien and it will work less and less to put you to sleep the longer you take it. It was designed for short term dosing(2 weeks at most) and not for long term use. I got to the point hwere I had to increase my dose to 3 10m.g nightly just to get 3-4 hours of sleep and would wake up and take another 2 to get back to sleep.
Avatar n tn nocturnal eating syndrome”, in which patients remember what they ate at night, and are often unable to get back to sleep. The disorder is often accompanied by sleepwalking, periodic sleep movements, and eating disorders. Avatar m tn It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn Hello and hope you are doing well. Understand your predicament. Somnambulism or sleep walking as it popularly called occurs in about 15% of children. This does not need any therapy in children and usually resolves as the child grows. But in adults it could be associated with stress, anxiety or other sleep disorders. Sleep deprivation and stress are known to aggravate these symptoms. So, consult your doctor, he may treat her for the anxiety episodes.
Avatar n tn IS it a possibility to have sleepwalking and have sex with someone when I'm at home, and the door is locked. And if it is would a sleep walker appear back in bed? I found myself back in bed but I had this dream of unprotected sex. I don't know if sleepwalkers can guide themselves back in bed, or even use keys to go out.
Avatar m tn Now it has come full circle and the intrusive thought has shifted and evolved to the idea of me sleepwalking and having sexsomnia or getting assaulted and not remembering because I was sleepwalking and being infected that way. I have heard that described as having your brain stuck in a gear that it can't get out of. I have not had a real relationship with anyone for 8 months and its turned my life upside down. I don't know how it spiraled.
Avatar n tn Ambien will help you get some sleep so yes I would say it is good. I worked for a Dr. before and the highest dose I saw given was a total of 12mg. So if the tab was 6mg then the patient could take 2. Taking 2 10mg of ambien seems a little high to me.Maybe someone else could answer better than me. I am one of those people that ambien doesn't work. I have tried Ambien cr, Lunesta (sp?) and regular Ambien and still couldn't get any sleep.
Avatar m tn I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!
