Ambien and joint pain

Common Questions and Answers about Ambien and joint pain

ambien

Avatar f tn It has helped my joint pain too. My feet used to stay swollen and painful and since I started on this juice it has gone away. I'm not real sure about the joint lub stuff, but I know this works wonders. I was diagnosed with psoratic arthritis at the same time as the fibro. and this is the only thing that has worked for me. Good Luck!!

1568041 tn?1311615212 Does she think it's an issue? Personally,I think Ambien is a dangerous drug to be taking all the time. But,if she can't sleep and hasn't increased her dose for a year, then this is her lifestyle. I don't agree with it either but I know insomnia can be just horrible. There are other things she can take. If she wants to try it, suggest Melatonin and Valerian root. It's safe and it works for a lot of people. However, anyone on SSRI's should avoid Melatonin.
Avatar n tn Ambien will help you get some sleep so yes I would say it is good. I worked for a Dr. before and the highest dose I saw given was a total of 12mg. So if the tab was 6mg then the patient could take 2. Taking 2 10mg of ambien seems a little high to me.Maybe someone else could answer better than me. I am one of those people that ambien doesn't work. I have tried Ambien cr, Lunesta (sp?) and regular Ambien and still couldn't get any sleep.
Avatar n tn i've been taking ambien for sleeo for 20 years. 10mg/night. about 10 years ago i had a bad intestinal virus that left me with chronic abdominal pain.my ambien went up to 2/night, i was up and down with norco for years. i eventually kicked it when the negatives outweighed the positives. before i kicked i noticed that 10mg ambien taken in the daytime really works in relieveing the pain. so i used the ambien to help me get off the opiates, why?
2069525 tn?1331349398 The pain is so severe that I tend to sweat and spit (nauseous). In addition I have always complained about joint pain (in ankles, and in my hands (stiffness) especially in the morning. I am also tired during the day and feel more awake at night. I also have trouble going to sleep so I am on Ambien. What could this be that I am going through? What is wrong with me?
Avatar f tn At least 6-7 years at a pop and can stop it with very mild consequences. Some lack of sleep and maybe some headaches and neck/back pain but really nothing. Try OTC Advil pm or something maybe.
Avatar m tn I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!
Avatar n tn I have also heard that joint pain and muscle pain are other indications. I do have rheumatoid artritis and some of your symptoms (jaw problems and joint pain) are somethings that I deal with. RA diagnoses is a very simple blood test and it maybe be worth checking out with your doctor. Again, I'm not a physician and am coming at this from my own personal experience. I wish you the very best and hope you get through this with a minimal expense and with positive results.
527890 tn?1263783127 back, neck, knees, shoulders, hips, hands, feet over the past few years. Pain is soothed with heating pad, but at time it feels like I am being stabbed especially in behind my knees. I have these "flares" that are unpredictable and at time bring me to a complete standstill. Due to my HIV, I am unable to take arthritis medications like Enbrel and Humira, so we cant 100% confirm or deny the RA/AS diagnoses.
Avatar n tn I don't know anything about ambien, but i just googled it and the answer is yes by what I read. I am just going to copy this until you get some more feedback. This lady was complaining about stomach pain also. Hope this helps. I started getting bad abdominal pains, but it took a long time before I made any connection between the Ambien and the pains. The pains were very localized; I could point to the exact painful spots. At first, there was a painful spot right below my sternum.
Avatar n tn Mainly now I am still dealing with the insomnia, panic, weight gain and constipation and the overall pain. What is this and why do I feel so crappy? I never knew menopause was so horrible AND I MEAN HORRIBLE. If someone had told me when I was in my 20s that... oh yeah and guess what when you hit your 50s your gonna wish you were dead rather than feel like you hit a wall physically (figuratively speaking) EVERYDAY. This is hell srsly. I never knew I would hit meno age and feel this poorly.
Avatar f tn t move to toss and turn or get up to pee cause of the pain. So instead of any kind of pain meds he gives me ambien. Anyone else taken this drug??
Avatar f tn Doctors are so afraid to give out this drug, which is another reason, I am tired of depending on them for the meds and I have been through the joint injections and other injections with a pain man. dr. I guess I want to get my life back as much as I can before I got on this drug and learn how to live with pain.
10515800 tn?1419227034 ve been having the worst back pain. Went to hospital yesterday and they said to take the mess when needed and relax..
Avatar n tn I have been going to physical therapy and have tried four different PTs over the past two years. I take Ultram and Ambien and still cannot subdue to pain or sleep through the night. Without a diagnosis it is very hard to have doctors take me seriously and I KNOW that something is causing the pain. I have set up an appointment at Mayo in Jacksonville and want to make sure I am making another wrong turn. Has anyone been there for this type of thing?
Avatar f tn I would take that any day (night) instead of Ambien. Ambien shares some, but not all, of the characteristics and receptors affected, that Benzos do. Just my experience, Elavil is pretty helpful to me getting to sleep. I go off it sometimes just to see the result. Sleep is still ok, but can be iffy. I still want to be free from all pills, but recognize I have to pick my battles.
Avatar f tn I have taken 10mg every night for 2 yrs. I told my pain management dr and he said to cut it down to 5mg and add the extended melintone (sp) But I told him I wasn't ready to do that till I got my feet fixed. Maybe that will happen Thursday. Thank you guys.
Avatar f tn Welcome to the forum, Do not stop the Ambien cold turkey ok this can be Dangerous.. You have to Taper. You are on a large amount and seizures can take place.. You really should speak to your Dr. This is nothing to mess with. I read your post about your feet pain It is not unusual for you to become addicted to a prescribed med The Dr.s have heard this before. I hope you are doing better health wise. We are not allowed to give taper advice and do not know you health status so Please seek your Dr.
Avatar n tn The next day I called the dr and they put me on Vicidon (sp) and I overdosed alot trying to get rid of the pain so I have no more. Im scared of what these meds are doing to me . When I go into withdrawl i experence flu symptoms like stomach upset, vomiting, severe night sweats, chills, extreme pain, crying uncontrollably, extreme depression, feeling of doom, feeling of fever and hot and cold feelings. I was wondering how long this would last and how bad the pain is going to be.
Avatar f tn but, at least from my view on the bleachers....it seems like you are going on.. and then off the Ambien.... as well as going on... and off the Amitryptiline. They both can aide with sleep.....but you will have rebound affects from stopping and starting the Ambien. And your blood levels don't ever reach an "even" dose of the Ami if you don't CONSISTENTLY take it. It builds.....and then it becomes affective.
Avatar n tn They do not feel sensative to hot or cold. They just have a dull pain sensation. I feel I may grind my teeth at night. I take Ambien and I sleep well but I dont know what else would cause them to feel so strange. I do have some spacing but I have spoken with my Dentist and he says my teeth and gums are fine. I have noticed that I hold my jaw clinched a lot during the day and I always thrust my tongue against my teeth which has caused me to get blisters or a bump on my tongue.
