Ambien and jaw pain

Common Questions and Answers about Ambien and jaw pain

ambien

Avatar f tn Pain below ear/in jaw began about 6 months ago. Tongue pain is recent, ear pain and sinus pain/congestion have increased from allergies but were present prior to allergen exposure. Lymph nodes in neck are perpetually swollen but worse in the last couple months (again, possibly allergies?). Other relevant/potentially relevant info: have reflux for which I am on Prilosec.
1568041 tn?1311615212 Does she think it's an issue? Personally,I think Ambien is a dangerous drug to be taking all the time. But,if she can't sleep and hasn't increased her dose for a year, then this is her lifestyle. I don't agree with it either but I know insomnia can be just horrible. There are other things she can take. If she wants to try it, suggest Melatonin and Valerian root. It's safe and it works for a lot of people. However, anyone on SSRI's should avoid Melatonin.
1218318 tn?1266808601 Marked short term memory loss, anxiety riddled, confusion and heart racing, ears ringing and buzzing, spiking BP, intense breathing difficulties, moody, too weak to do anything, complete lack of ambition, depression, teeth and jaw pain, and the panic feeling that I need more Ambien to keep withdrawal symptoms at bay. Through Google research I discovered what kind of REAL trouble I was in. All the symptoms were CNS driven.
Avatar n tn Ambien will help you get some sleep so yes I would say it is good. I worked for a Dr. before and the highest dose I saw given was a total of 12mg. So if the tab was 6mg then the patient could take 2. Taking 2 10mg of ambien seems a little high to me.Maybe someone else could answer better than me. I am one of those people that ambien doesn't work. I have tried Ambien cr, Lunesta (sp?) and regular Ambien and still couldn't get any sleep.
Avatar n tn I have frequent jaw pain, jaw numness and jaw that crack when I chew on something at some point. I saw a dentist lately and he told me that everithing is normal with my teeth an jaw on the x-ray. I also have pain in my ears due to that! My best guess whould be that it is a Chiari symptome.
Avatar n tn i've been taking ambien for sleeo for 20 years. 10mg/night. about 10 years ago i had a bad intestinal virus that left me with chronic abdominal pain.my ambien went up to 2/night, i was up and down with norco for years. i eventually kicked it when the negatives outweighed the positives. before i kicked i noticed that 10mg ambien taken in the daytime really works in relieveing the pain. so i used the ambien to help me get off the opiates, why?
Avatar f tn At least 6-7 years at a pop and can stop it with very mild consequences. Some lack of sleep and maybe some headaches and neck/back pain but really nothing. Try OTC Advil pm or something maybe.
Avatar f tn Hello, Did they ever find the cause of your pain? I get the same relief (chewing gum and pain) with a pain behind my left eye that can go to the my cheek and mouth (seems like TN). MDs have said that it is not a classic trigeminal Neuralgia and MRI was fine. But, oddly chewing gum and sleep are the two things that relief the chronic pain the most (also generic Klonipin can help a little). MRI of pituitary showed a 1-2 mm pars intermedia cyst. Thanks for your share.
Avatar m tn I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!

Avatar f tn Thank you for answering me. I just don't know what to do. Tonight and last night it was xanax and I still can't sleep yet. The night before last it was ambien and before that it was lunesta. it seems like every four five days I start clenching my teeth and grinding my jaw really hard it hurts that I have to go back to the xanax. This is horrible and I am goiing to run out of ambien soon only ahev a few lunesta left, then only xanax about 90 .50 mg. How do i stop this?????
Avatar n tn I don't know anything about ambien, but i just googled it and the answer is yes by what I read. I am just going to copy this until you get some more feedback. This lady was complaining about stomach pain also. Hope this helps. I started getting bad abdominal pains, but it took a long time before I made any connection between the Ambien and the pains. The pains were very localized; I could point to the exact painful spots. At first, there was a painful spot right below my sternum.
Avatar n tn When people refer to jaw pain and heart attack where on the jaw is this referring to. Is it lower jaw or up near the cheek on the upper jaw. Is the pain intense or throbbing.
Avatar f tn t move to toss and turn or get up to pee cause of the pain. So instead of any kind of pain meds he gives me ambien. Anyone else taken this drug??
10515800 tn?1419227034 ve been having the worst back pain. Went to hospital yesterday and they said to take the mess when needed and relax..
Avatar n tn They do not feel sensative to hot or cold. They just have a dull pain sensation. I feel I may grind my teeth at night. I take Ambien and I sleep well but I dont know what else would cause them to feel so strange. I do have some spacing but I have spoken with my Dentist and he says my teeth and gums are fine. I have noticed that I hold my jaw clinched a lot during the day and I always thrust my tongue against my teeth which has caused me to get blisters or a bump on my tongue.
Avatar m tn I would get this checked out a s a p if I was you. Pain in chest and jaw at same time can be related and due to a heart problem .
Avatar n tn good day i am 27 years old and have developed sinus over the years, with the change of seasons i sometimes experience discomfort in my face like the nose area and eye area when the wind blows my eyes get teary and i seem to cough, and about a few months ago i went to a doctor and he explained that there is swelling in my jaw appearently i have some sort of an overbite which is causing some skewness in my mouth, he gave my muscle relaxers to ease the pain, but the sinus pain aswell as the jaw
Avatar n tn I have swelling on the left side of my jaw and face. My jaw hurts underneath almost like a swollen gland. I also have canker sores inside my left side of mouth which I think is from biting the inside of my mouth while I sleep. What can I do for the pain. Is this TMJ or just stress?
Avatar n tn It is very closely associated to the TMJ and completely responsible for your jaw and tooth functions. It feeds sensation and function to your jaws, face, tongue, sinus, palate, eyes, teeth, and lips. The trigeminal accounts for over 40% of the brain's processing. The trigeminal also has innervation and control over certain areas of the brain itself. The trigeminal nerve is also "married" to the facial, hypoglossal, and vagus nerves.
Avatar n tn The first root canal on #30 tooth was done on May 21 and then about five days later I started getting pain in the tooth area and thoughout my jaw area and into my ear. I went back to my endodonist who said it was not the tooth and then referred me to an oral surgeon/Maxillofacial dentist who said I was having jaw spasms due to the fact that I had two root canals done just a few days apart and my mouth was open for so long.
Avatar f tn Did you have a previous jaw injury? Jaw pain is also on the list for a symptom of a cardiac event. Any possibility of that? Stress and posture issues can aggravate it. Have you tried any nsaids like ibuprofen or motrin for it? That would reduce any internal immflamation and acts as a pain reliever. Does it do anything for you? There are other meds they might use but this is where I'd go first for sure. Then if that doesn't work, they do have other things you can try . . .
Avatar f tn I would take that any day (night) instead of Ambien. Ambien shares some, but not all, of the characteristics and receptors affected, that Benzos do. Just my experience, Elavil is pretty helpful to me getting to sleep. I go off it sometimes just to see the result. Sleep is still ok, but can be iffy. I still want to be free from all pills, but recognize I have to pick my battles.
