Ambien will help you get some sleep so yes I would say it is good. I worked for a Dr. before and the highest dose I saw given was a total of 12mg. So if the tab was 6mg then the patient could take 2. Taking 2 10mg of ambien seems a little high to me.Maybe someone else could answer better than me. I am one of those people that ambien doesn't work. I have tried Ambien cr, Lunesta (sp?) and regular Ambien and still couldn't get any sleep.

I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!

Does she think it's an issue? Personally,I think Ambien is a dangerous drug to be taking all the time. But,if she can't sleep and hasn't increased her dose for a year,then this is her lifestyle. I don't agree with it either but I know insomnia can be just horrible. There are other things she can take. If she wants to try it, suggest Melatonin and Valerian root. It's safe and it works for a lot of people. However,anyone on SSRI's should avoid Melatonin.

Hello mom and welcome. Heroin and ambien are both central nervous system depressants. Taken together it is very dangerous as they both depress the respiratory and central nervous system. How old is your son? Does he live with you? How long has he been Abusing drugs for?

At least 6-7 years at a pop and can stop it with very mild consequences. Some lack of sleep and maybe some headaches and neck/back pain but really nothing. Try OTC Advil pm or something maybe.

My allergist has not prescibed cortisone because it is only a short term solution and the hives usually come back with a vengence. I just read a book "Thyroid Balance" that mentions Hives as a sometime Symptom of Graves. I beleive there have also been members here that have suffered with hives also with Hyperthyroid.

my cousin has been taking hydrocodone and has had severe hives for 7 weeks now. she has quit taking the hydrocodone 6-7 weeks ago but the hives are still coming (every single day) and in different places on her body. is this an allergic reaction to the hydrocodone? and can it take this long for the hives to go away?

It has come to a point where I need to medicate myself with several different medicines in order to fall asleep. I usually take Ambien 10 mg and I take two od those and sometimes Xanax 1 mg. I have noticed that Ambien doesnt really help much anymore. I just feel weird when I take it. Sometimes when I dont take anything to sleep and I manage to fall asleep, I have very vivid dreams and nightmares. Even after taking medicine, I dont usually fall asleep until 4 am and I am up at 8 or 9.

Soon after this increase I started noticing hives. Hives cover my torso, thighs, buttocks, and they are large welts, extremely itchy. I thought it was the levothyroxine so I switched to synthroid. Once our pediatrician examined him she said the hives were from walking pneumonia. He is on the third day of antibiotics but hives are still appearing on his face. Yes. Twelve years ago, when I began this journey, that's what led to my diagnosis. I had hives on top of my hives. I don't know the mechanism of how hep C causes these hives but assume it is some sort of autoimmune thing. Steroids eventually made me better. Good luck.

Since you were no long on the doc should have been able to identity the amount of time for this to leave your system.
