Ambien and gerd

Common Questions and Answers about Ambien and gerd

ambien

Avatar f tn I went to the ER and the doctor there suspected that I have gerd and told me to take acid blockers. They found nothing wrong on the EKG monitor with my heart while I was at the ER. I lost about 10 lbs during this time because of lack of appetite and I slept a lot. After a few months I could feel my heart doing strange beats and skipping beats sometime as many as 6-10 times in a few minutes. I went to a cardiologist and he had me wear a monitor for 24 hours.
Avatar n tn Ambien will help you get some sleep so yes I would say it is good. I worked for a Dr. before and the highest dose I saw given was a total of 12mg. So if the tab was 6mg then the patient could take 2. Taking 2 10mg of ambien seems a little high to me.Maybe someone else could answer better than me. I am one of those people that ambien doesn't work. I have tried Ambien cr, Lunesta (sp?) and regular Ambien and still couldn't get any sleep.
Avatar m tn I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!
1568041 tn?1311615212 Does she think it's an issue? Personally,I think Ambien is a dangerous drug to be taking all the time. But,if she can't sleep and hasn't increased her dose for a year, then this is her lifestyle. I don't agree with it either but I know insomnia can be just horrible. There are other things she can take. If she wants to try it, suggest Melatonin and Valerian root. It's safe and it works for a lot of people. However, anyone on SSRI's should avoid Melatonin.
Avatar m tn This happens 5 or 6 times and then my body just gives up on sleep and I usually average 3 hours of sleep per night. It is awful. My doctor prescribed ambien and that is helping a little bit (I can usually get 5-6 hours on it). Just wondering if anyone else has this symptom. In addition to this symptom, I also feel as though my skin is "crawling", severe itchiness all over my body at night mostly, but also during the day. This is also a new symptom.
Avatar f tn Hello mom and welcome. Heroin and ambien are both central nervous system depressants. Taken together it is very dangerous as they both depress the respiratory and central nervous system. How old is your son? Does he live with you? How long has he been Abusing drugs for?
Avatar f tn At least 6-7 years at a pop and can stop it with very mild consequences. Some lack of sleep and maybe some headaches and neck/back pain but really nothing. Try OTC Advil pm or something maybe.
Avatar n tn She is sleep/wake having conversations she doesnt remember and and having conversations with us that did not happen, Sleep walking, cleaning.... Is this common and should Ambien be prescribed to teens with PTS?
Avatar f tn Hello everyone! Been a while since I have been able to post but for the past few weeks I have been suffering from a very severe nauseated stomach. I have tried all kinds of over the counter meds to help but nothing seems to help...I am just downright sick to my stomach. After some research, I have found a lot of people suffer from Acid Reflux and GERD from Ambien but I really haven't seen anything about a constant, upset stomach which very little vomiting.
1806721 tn?1554333407 The pain is located right above my belly button line, both left and right sides (it started on the left and is worse on the left side too). I got lots of gas and feel very bloated this morning. Chest pain gets better. Tummy still hurts. Just took some prilosec. I only ate egg noodle, shrimp, and salmon last night. Which one sounds suspicious?
Avatar m tn It has come to a point where I need to medicate myself with several different medicines in order to fall asleep. I usually take Ambien 10 mg and I take two od those and sometimes Xanax 1 mg. I have noticed that Ambien doesnt really help much anymore. I just feel weird when I take it. Sometimes when I dont take anything to sleep and I manage to fall asleep, I have very vivid dreams and nightmares. Even after taking medicine, I dont usually fall asleep until 4 am and I am up at 8 or 9.
750172 tn?1256147076 Hi, I was just googling Ambien and Lexapro and read your question. I take Ambien here and there, since I have trouble staying asleep, and have recently become severely depressed and got some Lexapro from a friend, (I know not the best thing to do, but... such is life), but wanted to know if you had any issues taking the two.
Avatar f tn I want to quit taking xanax and ambien. I have been on both for a few years. I also take Subxone. I take 12.5 mg of ambien and .5mg of xanax 2 or 3 times per day. Can I quit cold turkey without? I have heard xanax withdrawal can cause seizures,, but am not sure if my dose is high enough to worry about that.
Avatar m tn Namaste, It could be a side effect of the Ambien. Are you experencing these symptoms just in the morning or all day? Try not taking the Ambien for a few days and see if yor symptoms improve and if they do, you'll know the cause.
Avatar f tn yes, at 3 am I was able to go to bed...woke up a few times (on ambien) and fraked out a bit, then back to sleep. Gone today.
1166402 tn?1303847056 I just started 20 mg of generic Celexa (3 days ago) and the doc also gave me Ambien and Klonopin (take .25mg) to relieve the anxiety until the Celexa kicks in. I wake up shaky/hot and kind of panicky. Which drug is this from drugs, or is it still the anxiety. I know this takes time, but I don't want to mess with any drugs that might be making the symptoms worse (i.e Klonopin or Ambien). I also don't want to become dependent on the Klonopin and ambien either.
Avatar m tn I started taking Alprazolem for anxiety 15 years ago. Since then I only take .5mg at night to help me relax and fall asleep. I now find the the 1 pill at night is not helping me sleep. So I started taking Ambien CR and stopped taking the Alprazolem. I'm sleeping great, but feel terrible in the morning. I feel nausea and tingling numbnest in my arm and face. Do you think its from the Ambien or from me stopping the alprazolem. Any advice?
Avatar n tn I have told people over and over about my experiences with ambien (sleep driving, sleep eating, and hair loss). It made me lose all grips on reality. It also destroyed me physicall and mentally. I wished I would have never heard of the c r a p. I have been clean from it for 6 months and I hope I never experience anything like it again. It was my fault because I wasn't taking it as prescribed. Whatever you do, only take one at bedtime.
603543 tn?1255294450 Did you ask your pharmacist if abilify and ambien and any other meds you might be taking, including OTC meds, might be interacting to cause you to feel like this? Sometimes pharmacists know more about adverse drug interactions than dr's. Just a thought.
Avatar m tn the pain medicine I take makes my mind race if I'm on it around the clock. I don't take more than prescribed but I did notice that after I lowered my dose, got off it completely for a few days and then slowly started with 1 dose a day and then 2 where I'm at currently, When I was at the end of that 3 day period it's like my body "reset". I was able to get tired earlier, and able to sleep sounder.
Avatar m tn I have GERD too and was on Nexium and Reglan. I had a severe reaction to the Reglan. My gastro doctor had me on 20 mg before each meal and at bedtime to help my stomach move food into the intestine. I started having difficulty concentrating and had trembling in my limbs. Then one Saturday morning, I woke up in a black hole with severe depression. I stopped the Reglan but the depression didn't go away.
12669761 tn?1426584562 Clonazepam (Klonopin), Omeprazole (proton pump inhibitor for GERD) and Ambien (for sleep). Actually, that is a lot for me, but just to tell you that I don't believe any of those are an opiate. I take the GERD medication one hour before breakfast each morning. I am 57 years old and I have taken the Clonazepam for over 23 years off and on. I was off of it for months until January when the doctor put me back on them. Even then, I refused to take the 1.
Avatar n tn is there a contraindication between ambien and melatonin?
603543 tn?1255294450 Thank you... I thought the ambien was too strong, but I was so happy to sleep again...Now the abilify, I was suppose to increase from 2 mg today to 4mg, I wanted to tknow if 2 mg was a thereaputic dose and also can I take have of that and take 1 mg since Im so sensititve and that might work, Its been keeping me up at night the abilify, makes my mind and body racy and alert...Waiting for my dr to call back, but sometimes that doesnt happen......
Avatar n tn I used to take Ambien, and I had great results with it for a short time. But with all medications, it eventually lost it's effectiveness, and I switched to Lunesta. Lunesta was a good alternative for me. I never had nausea with either med., but I have experienced the daytime grogginess with both. It does go away after a while, as you become adjusted to it. Unfortunatly for me, sleep medications only work for a short time. I am a true insomniac, and nothing works for long.
Avatar f tn I've been on ambien for over a year and just started taking percocets for a knee injury about 3 months ago. i've just tryed to go cold turkey off these drugs just because I know its not healthy. I keep seeking spiritual advice but is there something else that can be done and is it normal to feel so awful.( diahrea, hot and cold flashes, crying uncontrollably, restless legs, and insomnia of course? How long does these awful symptoms normally last?
Avatar n tn Ive been taking ambien for close to 3 years now off and on. 2-3 weeks every night then none for a month etc. Ambien is such a fickle fickle drug and affects people SO SO SO differently I would insist on you talking to a doc regarding this. For me it was a god send for my horrible sleep issues. I know that there can be some substantial risks quitting CT on ambien especially for someone who has taken it for soooooo long. Talk to a new doc!!!! You will find one eventually who will help you.
