Ambien and forgetfulness

Common Questions and Answers about Ambien and forgetfulness

ambien

Avatar f tn I quit drinking alcohol over 2 years ago. I started on an antidepressant, Citalopram 20mg daily, and Ambien 5 mg. daily. I started in college and I am having some of the best times (I'm 54). I have been very successful, Presidential HOnor roll, difficult classes, etc. I have been on these pills for almost 2 years. The citalopram has a disclosure that it can cause sleepiness. My older brother said when he took Ambien it made him lose his memory. I am starting to struggle with forgetfulness.
Avatar f tn ve noticed increased seizure activity and forgetfulness. Also, irritability and nervousness. Has anyone else had this or similar experience? Also, if so, what/if anything helped?
620048 tn?1358018235 Holy Smokes, Meg! :-O Yes, try the Ambien angle -try to wean yourself off it and try something different. You don't have a history of seizures, do you?
Avatar f tn It would be hard to tell which drug is making u feel like this, but from my experience of taking both at the same time like u are, I would say it is more the ambien. Maybe try a few nights of no ambien and see if u start feeling better? And then figure out a way to taper off the xanax.
Avatar n tn Yes, I have tried ambien, and ambien CR, and had to discontinue/stop it due to having long laps of forgetfulness. Not good! I tried Lunesta, and it is ok, however, my insurance won't pay for it, and I can't afford it. SO the doc thought this Klonopin would do the trick, but I didn't expect tears. Maybe it is relaxing me enough to release tears for all the high stress I am going thru!!! didn't think of that until reading all of the above.
Avatar f tn When I was a couple of months I lost my keys and still havent found them. LOL I always forgot why I walked in a room and some times don't remember until hours later. My friend and I call it momnesia and just laugh it off.
Avatar n tn I have been on methotrexate for over 20 years and also have been on etanercept (enbrel) but now am only on methotrexate, celebrex and infusions of rituxan every 6 months. I read about all the adverse reactions of all the meds I take and these have never been associated with either of your meds. it could be the vitamin d and calcium deficiencies. best of luck to you.
6867745 tn?1398948987 Definitely me. I was heating up dinner and left it in the microwave! I forgot about it lol. Something like that happens everyday!
Avatar f tn I definitely took them but she felt you pee most of it out as absorption of pill form vitamins is hard.
Avatar m tn you can take her and have her checked out they will do memory test and can tell you what they think.
Avatar n tn Ambien will help you get some sleep so yes I would say it is good. I worked for a Dr. before and the highest dose I saw given was a total of 12mg. So if the tab was 6mg then the patient could take 2. Taking 2 10mg of ambien seems a little high to me.Maybe someone else could answer better than me. I am one of those people that ambien doesn't work. I have tried Ambien cr, Lunesta (sp?) and regular Ambien and still couldn't get any sleep.
Avatar m tn I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!
1568041 tn?1311615212 Does she think it's an issue? Personally,I think Ambien is a dangerous drug to be taking all the time. But,if she can't sleep and hasn't increased her dose for a year, then this is her lifestyle. I don't agree with it either but I know insomnia can be just horrible. There are other things she can take. If she wants to try it, suggest Melatonin and Valerian root. It's safe and it works for a lot of people. However, anyone on SSRI's should avoid Melatonin.
Avatar f tn Hello mom and welcome. Heroin and ambien are both central nervous system depressants. Taken together it is very dangerous as they both depress the respiratory and central nervous system. How old is your son? Does he live with you? How long has he been Abusing drugs for?
Avatar f tn At least 6-7 years at a pop and can stop it with very mild consequences. Some lack of sleep and maybe some headaches and neck/back pain but really nothing. Try OTC Advil pm or something maybe.
Avatar n tn She is sleep/wake having conversations she doesnt remember and and having conversations with us that did not happen, Sleep walking, cleaning.... Is this common and should Ambien be prescribed to teens with PTS?
Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed with a vitamin D level of 8. My symptoms prior to diagnosis were so varied and myriad, that I honestly just chalked it up to being a worrier or hypochondriac. The physical achiness and fatigue is awful, but I can cope. What crushes me is the mental part; the lack of focus/concentration and downright forgetfulness.
Avatar f tn Hi there. I was a migraine sufferer. They are terrible. I'd get the whole 'aura' so that I knew it was coming, then I couldn't be in light, no sound, I was nauseated and I'd go to bed and sleep for 24 hours. Really terrible. Mine were related to food I found out through a headache clinic. Flavor and sugar substitutes cause a reaction in me. Weird, huh? Anyway, I think you'll be okay to wait to see your doctor. the slurring of speech is a bit worrisome.

Avatar m tn Are sudden onset of stuttering and forgetfulness of proper words to use when speaking a sign of a mild stroke? And what about sudden onset of short term memory issues. Andrew Pugh Vancouver B.C.
Avatar n tn Thank you all of you! I had decided to skip that day just in case so did not double up. Happy Holidays!
Avatar n tn The doctor has me decreasing my antidepressents (medicine and pills were making me bipolar), I am know taking 100mg of zoloft and 200mg of lamictal. When will this manic and losing my mind (forgetfulness) go away? What minute I am doing something and the next I am staring off into space and have no clue what I was doing. I have to make a list just to remember to go home and eat lunch and do errands. How long does it take for dopamine to come back?
Avatar m tn It has come to a point where I need to medicate myself with several different medicines in order to fall asleep. I usually take Ambien 10 mg and I take two od those and sometimes Xanax 1 mg. I have noticed that Ambien doesnt really help much anymore. I just feel weird when I take it. Sometimes when I dont take anything to sleep and I manage to fall asleep, I have very vivid dreams and nightmares. Even after taking medicine, I dont usually fall asleep until 4 am and I am up at 8 or 9.
