Ambien and drug testing

Common Questions and Answers about Ambien and drug testing

ambien

Avatar f tn Your doctor should have been aware of that and held off on adding a sleep aid. The Ambien sounds like nothing more than drug overload to me. And the pharmacist telling you to take Benadryl is a tad questionable in my book as well. He/she should have told you to call your doctor immediately. Any time there is chest pain involved, it should never be ignored. Benadryl WILL make you sleepy, but it sure won't save you from a heart attack. I realize I may be scaring the daylights out of you.
Avatar f tn Then a visit to my PCP for the Orthostatic Hypotension and he told me to go off those two drugs and gave me a script of 3 days with 1 refill of Ambien CR to see how I would react to that. After the 3 nights I started sleeping 18 to 20 hours of a 24 hr. period plus felt completely out of it. A call back to him and he said he just didn't know why I was doing that and suggested I should talk to my psyche about it which he was supposed to have done.
Avatar n tn is there a contraindication between ambien and melatonin?
Avatar n tn Ive been taking ambien for close to 3 years now off and on. 2-3 weeks every night then none for a month etc. Ambien is such a fickle fickle drug and affects people SO SO SO differently I would insist on you talking to a doc regarding this. For me it was a god send for my horrible sleep issues. I know that there can be some substantial risks quitting CT on ambien especially for someone who has taken it for soooooo long. Talk to a new doc!!!! You will find one eventually who will help you.
750172 tn?1256147076 Hi, I was just googling Ambien and Lexapro and read your question. I take Ambien here and there, since I have trouble staying asleep, and have recently become severely depressed and got some Lexapro from a friend, (I know not the best thing to do, but... such is life), but wanted to know if you had any issues taking the two.
Avatar f tn I just found out that I am 6 week pregnant and I am worried because I took ambien, prozac (20 mg), cold medicine, claritin (allergy meds) and I drank a few beers over the holiday. I also had a dental xray. Should I be worried???
Avatar f tn Go back and read my journals about the ambien. It has become my mission in life to show people what could happen with that drug. I have even gone so far as write some of the magazines I subscribe to because they have so many ads for that drug in them. I have put my story out there for the world to see. If it can change one person's decision to use this drug then it is worth it.. Please email me, I would be glad to help.
Avatar n tn While I was in the office, I forgot to ask whether this new drug could interact with the Ambien, so I stopped taking the Ambien until I could see my doctor again. About a month went by in which I did not use Ambien at all. During this time, the abdominal pains gradually lessened over a period of weeks, and eventually disappeared.
1568041 tn?1311615212 Does she think it's an issue? Personally,I think Ambien is a dangerous drug to be taking all the time. But,if she can't sleep and hasn't increased her dose for a year, then this is her lifestyle. I don't agree with it either but I know insomnia can be just horrible. There are other things she can take. If she wants to try it, suggest Melatonin and Valerian root. It's safe and it works for a lot of people. However, anyone on SSRI's should avoid Melatonin.
Avatar m tn I started taking Alprazolem for anxiety 15 years ago. Since then I only take .5mg at night to help me relax and fall asleep. I now find the the 1 pill at night is not helping me sleep. So I started taking Ambien CR and stopped taking the Alprazolem. I'm sleeping great, but feel terrible in the morning. I feel nausea and tingling numbnest in my arm and face. Do you think its from the Ambien or from me stopping the alprazolem. Any advice?
Avatar n tn Ambien addiction is a serious problem requiring treatment. The signs of ambien withdrawal are insomnia, fatigue, sweating, stomach cramps, and panic attacks. You should consult your doctor to seek appropriate professional treatment if you want to discontinue Ambien. You should not attempt to stop taking them on your own.
Avatar m tn It has come to a point where I need to medicate myself with several different medicines in order to fall asleep. I usually take Ambien 10 mg and I take two od those and sometimes Xanax 1 mg. I have noticed that Ambien doesnt really help much anymore. I just feel weird when I take it. Sometimes when I dont take anything to sleep and I manage to fall asleep, I have very vivid dreams and nightmares. Even after taking medicine, I dont usually fall asleep until 4 am and I am up at 8 or 9.
Avatar f tn My husband has RLS and I took 1/2 tablet of his Klonopin 1mg. I was offered a job on Thursday and have to go take a drug test. Will this 1/2 tablet I took show in my drug test. Also I am taking 500mg of amoxcillion. Should I tell them I am taking that also. I have only taken 1/2 tablet ever and it did help, but haven't taken any more. Thank you S.
Avatar f tn It is my understanding too that benzos, like Valium; Ambien (which is actually a hypnotic and in the benzo family); clonazapam; etc. have negligible if any adverse affects on the liver. I've had to take benzos for several years, and I had my first liver biopsy in June. I have 0 fibrosis, and mild inflammation. So, I wouldn't worry unduly about any danger taking Valium to yourliver if you need it for medicinal purposes. The dangerous drug to worry about, of course, is alcohol.
Avatar n tn and again...is ambien the only drug that u take on a regular basis?
Avatar m tn I took tablets vepridone and ambien 2 months ago, doctors saved my life but now I am having shaky hands, I can't write and I feel extremely uncomfortable all the time. My question is, Is it due to drug withdrawl or it can get permanent side affect. What should I do now? Doctors also gave resperidone and a sleeping tablet for 2 weeks after treatment I was fine while I was using these tablets.
552011 tn?1239333219 300 mg Doxipin, 12-1800 mg Nurontin and 10 to 20 mg of Ambien, and 1-2 mg of somethinf to relax me. I have 2 questions. 1st, with all this antidepressent medication why am I still walking on the edge of life and death. I have way more dark days than light onesl 2nd. i feel like I am drowning when I take all this medication. I feel like I have fluid on my lungs and I get really short of breath. My breathing and HR increase above nromal.
Avatar f tn I would take that any day (night) instead of Ambien. Ambien shares some, but not all, of the characteristics and receptors affected, that Benzos do. Just my experience, Elavil is pretty helpful to me getting to sleep. I go off it sometimes just to see the result. Sleep is still ok, but can be iffy. I still want to be free from all pills, but recognize I have to pick my battles.
Avatar f tn s office refill an old prescription of Ambien - and truthfully, that first night I needed two to actually knock myself out. The only withdrawl it helps with is insomnia - BUT Ambien itself is addicting. If you continue to take it you may have serious sleep issues when you try and come off. I would highly recommend Ambien CR over the regular Ambien though.
Avatar m tn I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!
Avatar n tn I have told people over and over about my experiences with ambien (sleep driving, sleep eating, and hair loss). It made me lose all grips on reality. It also destroyed me physicall and mentally. I wished I would have never heard of the c r a p. I have been clean from it for 6 months and I hope I never experience anything like it again. It was my fault because I wasn't taking it as prescribed. Whatever you do, only take one at bedtime.
603543 tn?1255294450 Did you ask your pharmacist if abilify and ambien and any other meds you might be taking, including OTC meds, might be interacting to cause you to feel like this? Sometimes pharmacists know more about adverse drug interactions than dr's. Just a thought.
10515800 tn?1419227034 And ambient is a sleeping pill that is prescribed, not over the counter drug. She gave me a really high dose to. I've taken benedryl and Tylenol before and passed out from being so tired. I'm wide awake and just paranoid and it's creeping me out.
Avatar f tn I started taking Ambien & Prozac in Oct 2009. I started building a resistance so my doctor prescribed for me Restoril, that didn't work so she started me on Lunesta. After I started building a resistance to the Lunesta my doctor prescribed for me Ambien CR 12.5mg. It's now March 2010 and I need 4 or more Ambien CR to sleep. I can't sleep without it!!! I haven't taken the CR 12.5mg in 24hr and I have the common addiction symptoms.
