ambien

Avatar n tn She is suffering from post tramatic stress and has very real nightmares. It takes several hours for her realize they are dreams. She is sleep/wake having conversations she doesnt remember and and having conversations with us that did not happen, Sleep walking, cleaning.... Is this common and should Ambien be prescribed to teens with PTS?
Avatar f tn I am on Ambien for insomnia but I still wake up at 3 or 4 in the morning and can't get back to sleep - so often I will take 3 mg of sublingual Melatonin. It puts me back to sleep, but I have vivid dreams, and it almost feels like I am even more exhausted when I wake up from them. Does melatonin give you all three stages of REM or is it mostly to help with the most superficial phase, the dream phase?
Avatar m tn It has come to a point where I need to medicate myself with several different medicines in order to fall asleep. I usually take Ambien 10 mg and I take two od those and sometimes Xanax 1 mg. I have noticed that Ambien doesnt really help much anymore. I just feel weird when I take it. Sometimes when I dont take anything to sleep and I manage to fall asleep, I have very vivid dreams and nightmares. Even after taking medicine, I dont usually fall asleep until 4 am and I am up at 8 or 9.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone...I am on Riba and peg-intron for almost a month. I am having trouble sleeping through the night. I have wacky dreams and wake up around 2-3 am and can't go back to sleep. My doc told me to take benadryl before i go to bed. Anyone recommend anything else..is this normal?
Avatar m tn My Dr. has me on 20mg ambien (yes, a high dose). I had a Dr. suggest that I take 10mg when I go to bed, and then another 10mg when I wake up a few hours later. Does anyone have any comments about taking them several hours apart like that versus taking it all at once? The idea is that I would get more sleep, but the risk is that the after effects of it will be more pronounced the next day.
1355301 tn?1287967641 I actually found that when I tried Lunesta (or had to switch to it from my normal Ambien because I was in the hospital and they only use Lunesta there) - that I had the same thing happen to me. As soon as I was able to go back to my normal Ambien, it stopped. I wonder if it's a side effect of the Lunesta... but maybe not since you said taking the Lunesta actually helped the situation for you.
1001199 tn?1288135453 I have similar problems as you do too, i suffer from ptsd and schizophrenia and my dreams are extremely terrifying and just plain strange. They don't seem scary when i talk about them to other people, but when i am dreaming them they are like nothing ive ever felt before... this sounds stupid but what worked for me, is i had a native American chief make my a dream catcher....i swear to god it works.
Avatar n tn Not one day have I ever been able to fall asleep on my own, not even for 5 minutes. Lots going on in my head with strange dreams when I wake up.
1225178 tn?1318980604 I don’t recall any strange dreams, Diane. I’m wondering, though; are you taking Ambien or Lunesta? Those drugs have been associated with changes in sleep and dream patterns, I think.
2059648 tn?1439766665 Only on Saturday mornings from 2 AM to 8 AM after the peg injection on Friday. I have strange, uncomfortable, repetitive dreams and keep waking up, although I'm very tired. Otherwise I sleep well.
Avatar f tn Ambien seriously damages my brain. I never feel good after taking them the next day. And when I take them it feels like my mind is being damaged. I hallucinate and everything. I take the 10 mg and somtimes break another and take like 12-15mg total. Well I USED to. Have not touched it in about a month. It was tough but I went ct off of Percs, oxy, ambien and Ativan. I have been off of everything except the perc's and Oxy for a month. Those I had to start over and am now at day 4.
620048 tn?1358018235 HI, Has anyone taken ambien and experienced side effects rom it? I seem to be having dreams, not bad, but strange. Sometimes they appear to be real even after I wake up. I have also heard of people having sleep walking while on it. If so, do you have any other suggestions? I could just take otc stuff, thats what i did before, but this was so much better and easier t take. thanks, meg ..who is having bad days lately !!
Avatar f tn 5mg of Xanax and 3 mg of Lunesta for 4 years, and these were pulled abruptly from me upon admission. In the hospital I had hallucinating dreams and insomnia -- also at the same time had 4 does of anthesia, plus IV pain drugs, then morphine, then percocet. My NEW APRN psych person says I didn't have anywithdrawal. Did I? I think I did.
1737879 tn?1386202314 I am taking 10mg of Ambien at night and have been taking it for about 3 months now because I have not been sleeping. I am wanting to stop taking it. I tried a few nights to stop but never could fall asleep. how would I be able to stop taking it? I do not abuse it and only take it as directed I just don't want to rely on anything. I started taking it due to other health issues I have one being ovarian cancer.
Avatar f tn i am in a constant brain fog during the day and always tired. I have horrible vivid dreams from the ambien and have been known to have conversations and parttake in activities i have no recollection of the next day and that to me is frightening. My husband tries to watch my closely because i have even cooked meals under the influence of the ambien and have forgotten to turn off the burner of the stove and on more than one occasion he has found me outdoors.
739988 tn?1386672969 I feel for you, my doctor give me Zolpidem 10mg which is the generic for Ambien. There is also an Ambien CR. If you get it read the warnings carefully as its a very contravercial medicine. No not take at all if you are prone to sleepwalking! Safety first. I hope you get some much needed sleep. Sweet dreams.
Avatar m tn From day 4 to the present (day 11), I have had 2 good nights of sleep and the rest were horrible. Tossing and turning, awaking after every vivid dreams (multiple dreams in each night). The GOOD: Even after one these horrible nights, I am MENTALLY sharper! I can think and recall things so much more clearer. That is something you wont realize until you get off. I have not experienced lower back pain like I did while on it. Bowels more consistent.
501205 tn?1227345442 I couldnt sleep last night and took an ambien for the first time in awhile and I have to say those are bad pills. I always thought they were okay for me but I made the mistake of taking one and not going to bed right away and I have no recollection of what I did for the last half hour before bed. I was just reading my post to Courtney and I cant even remember typing it -- let alone what it said.
Avatar m tn I tend to have extremely vivid and well odd dreams based massively in symbolism and the waking dreams are no different. I say I know it isn't hallucinations as it still has the dream like quality and while I am completely aware of the real world I am also completely aware when the dream ends that it was nothing more than a dream.
1008841 tn?1293598960 //www.moravek.net/ovisnosti/hepc.htm My husband also takes 3 mg a night as well and usually has a great sleep without waking up and without being groggy the next day, it's great. His doctor has no problem with him taking it, either. Of course, since you can buy it over-the-counter, alot of doctors will probably say it doesn't work and to take what their pharmaceutical reps say to take. :) Just google it for more info but I haven't read anything bad about it at all.
Avatar f tn Have a notepad to write your worries . And so stints I take ambien . I am 38, very active, work out. High stressful job, colored vivid dreams all the time. I know it's a struggle. But a combination of meditation, melatonin or ambien r should help.
Avatar f tn When I am awake, I find I was sleeping and dreaming. For me dreams have no significance. These dreams short and fleeting.I am 83 and taking meds in gradually increasing dosage. Now I am trying to tapper off.
