ambien

175734 tn?1225134440 I was having lots of memory loss and neck and back pain while on the Ambien. I quit (2) days ago and i feel alot better. Can't sleep so good yet ( rebound ). Hope this wont last long.
Avatar f tn It was during that time she started abusing Ambien and antidepressants. She stole Ambien and antidepressants from heer sister and she stole Amnien from me. I guess I don't see why someone would want to abuse Ambien as it just made me go to sleep. A lot of my friends and family have the same doctor. She recently prescribed Ambien for my dad. She's prescribing it now in a different manner and I think it makes a lot of sense.
Avatar f tn Try to relax and plan a healthy sleeping habit on a long-term basis. Avoid coffee/tea, smoking, alcohol and a bulky spicy meal at nights. Do regular casual exercise, concentrate on some fine work like reading a book, listening to soft music, have warm shower and a gentle body massage prior to sleep. Avoid tickling clocks, very bright-blinking lights, and very tight clothing or bedding.
Avatar m tn Hi my question is that I have a spouse on Ambien and has been taking it for about three years now and swears there is nothing else that will help them sleep but uses it to cope with life also if something goes wrong they go to bed and take an Ambien and sleep until they feel better about the problem does anyone have any suggestions as to how to handle something like this.
Avatar f tn It depends on what they are caused by but normally there is no clear reason and at times they do go away on there own. Would try to avoid caffeine/coffee, any stimulants, and try to not let stress be a major issue in your life. If they dont go away on there own then can consider using a medication called a beta blocker that can sometimes help the PAC's and PVC's.
Avatar n tn Ambien will help you get some sleep so yes I would say it is good. I worked for a Dr. before and the highest dose I saw given was a total of 12mg. So if the tab was 6mg then the patient could take 2. Taking 2 10mg of ambien seems a little high to me.Maybe someone else could answer better than me. I am one of those people that ambien doesn't work. I have tried Ambien cr, Lunesta (sp?) and regular Ambien and still couldn't get any sleep.
Avatar m tn I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!
1568041 tn?1311615212 Does she think it's an issue? Personally,I think Ambien is a dangerous drug to be taking all the time. But,if she can't sleep and hasn't increased her dose for a year, then this is her lifestyle. I don't agree with it either but I know insomnia can be just horrible. There are other things she can take. If she wants to try it, suggest Melatonin and Valerian root. It's safe and it works for a lot of people. However, anyone on SSRI's should avoid Melatonin.
Avatar f tn 30 am and my sleep is a mess no mater how hard I try I cant sleep during the day tonigh I go out with 3hr sleep in me dead tired but wired on coffee talk to your doctor and dont just go off that med it will get you sick with withdrawals you must taper slowly off it good luck and God bless......
Avatar f tn Hello mom and welcome. Heroin and ambien are both central nervous system depressants. Taken together it is very dangerous as they both depress the respiratory and central nervous system. How old is your son? Does he live with you? How long has he been Abusing drugs for?
Avatar f tn At least 6-7 years at a pop and can stop it with very mild consequences. Some lack of sleep and maybe some headaches and neck/back pain but really nothing. Try OTC Advil pm or something maybe.
Avatar f tn My hepatologist has me on Ambien CR. I tried plain Ambien first but it didn't work every third or fourth night, and I'd be up all night. Plus it made me sleep walk. Ambien CR releases the medicine into the blood stream slowly all through the night. Like eureka says... don't take anything without having it cleared by your doctor because everybody is a little different with liver disease and you don't want to make your problems worse.
Avatar n tn She is sleep/wake having conversations she doesnt remember and and having conversations with us that did not happen, Sleep walking, cleaning.... Is this common and should Ambien be prescribed to teens with PTS?
2117997 tn?1339537769 I think that is due to the fact I avoided the NyQuil and Ambien and such. I just wanted to let you know that it can be done without the heavy medicating and the lousy feeling they give you each morning. It's painful enough as it is. LOL The lack of sleep was pretty brutal for me as well, but the hot showers during the evenings really worked. Wishing you the best!
1198664 tn?1368647812 Why why why are weekends soooo tough!!!!!!!!!!! Have not had a craving all week until tonight. God I swear I could eat my way through a percocet castle right now if one was in front of me. It's ALMOST like I just stopped taking them. Or I have still been taking them. You know about 6 hours after your last dose. Feels kind of like that. Maybe PAWS already? I don't know but I am having a rough night.
726325 tn?1233349582 I have been taking tylenol pm or advil pm or some other form of sleep aid for the past four years, last september I couldn't sleep for more than 3 or 4 hours max even after taking prosac which my doctor prescribed. first my doctor thought I might have depression so he put me on depression medictaion and that didn't work either, then he put me on ambien but no results. Finally i tried some over the counter melatonin for a couple of days and that helped me sleep for about six hours.
Avatar m tn It has come to a point where I need to medicate myself with several different medicines in order to fall asleep. I usually take Ambien 10 mg and I take two od those and sometimes Xanax 1 mg. I have noticed that Ambien doesnt really help much anymore. I just feel weird when I take it. Sometimes when I dont take anything to sleep and I manage to fall asleep, I have very vivid dreams and nightmares. Even after taking medicine, I dont usually fall asleep until 4 am and I am up at 8 or 9.
Avatar f tn you HAVE to sleep to stay sane and recharge your body. Used Ambien successfully for the post-TX insomnia (after you stop the IFN, the riba stays longer and keeps jazzing you) but had the Ambien side effect of over-enthusiasm and couldn't even bear myself so perky. Using Lunesta now for insomnia related to something else. It's okay.
750172 tn?1256147076 Hi, I was just googling Ambien and Lexapro and read your question. I take Ambien here and there, since I have trouble staying asleep, and have recently become severely depressed and got some Lexapro from a friend, (I know not the best thing to do, but... such is life), but wanted to know if you had any issues taking the two.
Avatar f tn I want to quit taking xanax and ambien. I have been on both for a few years. I also take Subxone. I take 12.5 mg of ambien and .5mg of xanax 2 or 3 times per day. Can I quit cold turkey without? I have heard xanax withdrawal can cause seizures,, but am not sure if my dose is high enough to worry about that.
Avatar m tn Elavil/Endep can be tried if you are not comfortable with Ambien and it is a non-addictive drug. Avoid coffee/tea, smoking, alcohol and a bulky spicy meal. Do regular walk, regular stretches, have nutritious diet with lot of water or other liquids. Hot shower, gentle body massage and listening to soft music before going to bed can be soothing to mind and body, so it may be of some help. It is a better to consult a neurologist and a sleep specialist for evaluation. Get a sleep study done.
1394098 tn?1385960134 Xanax is not a sleep aid. Get some Ambien!!! Sleep is very importsnt during tx, please call your doc and get some Ambien.
Avatar f tn Thanks nanny. I'm not going to take ambien. Just rough it out..... Sleepless, 3 kids, full time job and wife. A day in the life...... Awe....
Avatar m tn Namaste, It could be a side effect of the Ambien. Are you experencing these symptoms just in the morning or all day? Try not taking the Ambien for a few days and see if yor symptoms improve and if they do, you'll know the cause.
