I have had Type 2 diabetes since October 07. I was put on Amaryl then and now am also on Metformin. I have since gained almost 5-8 pounds. Is this normal? I can't find this listed as a side effect in the drug info. I am about 20 pounds overweight and have been trying to lose that to help with the diabetes. I have a healthy diet and try to exercise as much as I can. I also have Crohn's disease (which may have contributed to the onset of diabetes), so heavy exercise is out for me.
Sorry if its (tmi) but ive been having a yellowish discharge for the past 3 days now. I was wondering if that was the mp. Im 39+5. Also, is there always a 'bloody show'? Or does it depend?
This is a question for your pharmacist as I could not locate "IP". Normally USP is Rx'd. Amaryl [glimepiride] tablets come in various forms and colors. The letters IG [eye gee] is imprinted on three tablets [blue, pink, green] to designate strength.
The reason she has to have insulin injection is that all other drugs upset her stomuch ( except diamicron MR ) .Doctor has prescribed her with Amaryl ,Glucophage ,Glucobay ,but they upset her stomuch .Although she take it after meal but she still have stomuch pain .So I want to ask what diabet drugs that don’t upset stomuch (because she hate to take insulin injection ).
I am maintaining a stage 3 and was on a 3 month regiment of vitamin d and we also eliminated metformin. I take Amaryl now, instead.. My blood glucose was out of control but my PCP put me on Victoza. That seems to be helping with the exception of BS levels being very low in the morning. My PCP has suggested she might take me off the Amaryl and just have me take more insulin along with the Victoza and Januvia. At this point we're experimenting with the meds to see what works better.
We have decrmy Lantus to 10eased units in the even. and 1/2 Amaryl in the a.m. and p.m. I also take Januvia 100mg, and 2000 mg Metformin a day. My A1c has been 6.6 for a few years now, but have moved and have a new Dr. who wanted me to try the Victoza. My BS are running 154 (No lower) to as high as 272. OCCASIONALLY I might have a reading as high as 272 (My B'day celebration had to many sweets) :(. but not this high On a regular basis.
My last MP was the same date. I had my 1st scan today...i read at 7w5days :) i just saw a small blob inside my uterus.... It coymd just be the way the baby was lying.
My son has been taking 6-mp for the last 3 years for Crohn's and was just diagnosed with Burkitts Leukemia. Have any of you out there ever heard of a possible connection between taking 6-mp and developing leukemia? I keep asking my doctors and they just can't give me any answers if there is a possibility that 6-mp could have caused my son to have leukemia. I appreciate any info anybody out there can give me. Prior to surgery, she was taking Amaryl 1mg tablets once a day. Is this increased BSR levels following a surgery common enough, are there any implications and what should be the desired course of action?
I am 42 years old Diabetic for 5 years on Metformin 500mg XL and Amaryl 2 mg. My blood sugars are not controlled. Fasting in 140 s and postprandial 300s. I am following diabetic diet and doing regular exercise/ What is the next step I should do.
Please advise. My recent A1C is 8.5.

My 13 year old has just started 6-mp. Does anyone have any advice. She is taken 75mg. Is that too much? Will her hair fall out? We are both scared of the drug. She get pancreatitis easily.
So I had my last MP March 7-11. I had unprotected sex March 25-27. My MP hasn't came for the month of April. I've been nauseous thrown up a few times, lower back pain, cramps,fatigue. I've taken home pregnancy test and all have came back negative. Am I testing too early or what? Someone please help!
I had been having irregular periods since November 2009. 1st menstral period occurred Nov 28 and lasted approx 7 days. Next mp was December 14th (7days); Another mp occurred on Jan 2, 2010 (7days) followed by the lmp which occurred on Jan 26. I had sexual intercourse on Jan 31 and Feb 12-15. Dr. says I am approx. 9wks pregnant, but ovulation calculator states ovulation dates were Feb 6-10 with ovulation occuring on Feb 9th. Could pregnancy have occurred after intercourse on Jan 31?
I have been controlling my type 2 diabetes with actos, lipitor, lisinopril, amaryl, and metfirman for the last 2 years. Recently, i was laying down and when I got up I felt my neck grinding. A few days later I noticed my tonuge was numb and tingling. then I noticed my right eye and right side of my face and head was numb. I have been having reduced mucle movement on that side. I do not have insurance and am unable to see a doctor. I get my diabetic medical treatment at a clinic.
The last few days I have been feeling off, baby is not moving nearly as much, I know she has dropped (my husband and 20 month old had me laughing so hard the other night I swear I felt I was going to push her out right then and there!) And I have been having lots of bh with minor cramping and real contractions off and on. I haven't lost my mp so question is have any of you gone into labor with out losing your mp?
If in fact you are a type 1 diabetic, you should not be taking Amaryl. I would say to find yourself a new doctor if he/she thinks that Amaryl is appropriate for juvenile diabetes. But, perhaps there is something I don't know.
Otherwise, just cautiously play with your carbohydrate intake and your insulin dosages. Yes, I agree that a doctor should be consulted about this at first, but eventually you should be running the show.
