This is a question for your pharmacist as I could not locate "IP". Normally USP is Rx'd. Amaryl [glimepiride] tablets come in various forms and colors. The letters IG [eye gee] is imprinted on three tablets [blue, pink, green] to designate strength.
I have had Type 2 diabetes since October 07. I was put on Amaryl then and now am also on Metformin. I have since gained almost 5-8 pounds. Is this normal? I can't find this listed as a side effect in the drug info. I am about 20 pounds overweight and have been trying to lose that to help with the diabetes. I have a healthy diet and try to exercise as much as I can. I also have Crohn's disease (which may have contributed to the onset of diabetes), so heavy exercise is out for me.
my grandmother has type 2 diabete for 10 years and she also has stomachace ,high blood pressure(high blood pressure i think it is caused by diabete) ,and heart valve damage (i think it is caused by Mediator drug ) .She use Amlor everyday to control high blood pressure.Sometime when she has stomuchache she take a drug which i dont remember the name .She used to take diamicron MR and it control her blood sugar .But now diamicron MR is useless ,she has to have insulin injection every evening .
I am maintaining a stage 3 and was on a 3 month regiment of vitamin d and we also eliminated metformin. I take Amaryl now, instead.. My blood glucose was out of control but my PCP put me on Victoza. That seems to be helping with the exception of BS levels being very low in the morning. My PCP has suggested she might take me off the Amaryl and just have me take more insulin along with the Victoza and Januvia. At this point we're experimenting with the meds to see what works better.
We have decrmy Lantus to 10eased units in the even. and 1/2 Amaryl in the a.m. and p.m. I also take Januvia 100mg, and 2000 mg Metformin a day. My A1c has been 6.6 for a few years now, but have moved and have a new Dr. who wanted me to try the Victoza. My BS are running 154 (No lower) to as high as 272. OCCASIONALLY I might have a reading as high as 272 (My B'day celebration had to many sweets) :(. but not this high On a regular basis.
Multi gated rest SPECT images show global hypokinesia of the LV myocardium with reduced systolic wall thickening with overall reduced resting left ventricular systolic function. LVEF 15+/-5%.
IMPRESSION:
Scan evidence of mild stress induced reversible ischaemia involving the apex, apicoseptal and apicoanterior segments and inferior wall of the LV myocardium.
Reduced resting systolic LV function with RWMA as described as estimated by quantitative GATED SPECT. Please correlate clinically.
Prior to surgery, she was taking Amaryl 1mg tablets once a day. Is this increased BSR levels following a surgery common enough, are there any implications and what should be the desired course of action?
I am 42 years old Diabetic for 5 years on Metformin 500mg XL and Amaryl 2 mg. My blood sugars are not controlled. Fasting in 140 s and postprandial 300s. I am following diabetic diet and doing regular exercise/ What is the next step I should do.
Please advise. My recent A1C is 8.5.

I did not want to take the medicine, but realize that i did suffer from depression and other things, and for me this drug really works, and it does not make me feel high or groggy (maybe for a little while in the beginning) but it all leveled out, now looking back at my life i realize that i do need this medicine, and if i could not take the zoloft i would be trying to find something that works, that is how much this antidepressant has changed my life......

The drug in question was phenobarbital, but can occur with just about any drug. The diagnosis in this case was made from a skin biopsy. I have found them reported in several other anticonvulsants. Other drugs with leukemoid reactions associated with them are:

antibiotics (penicillins, sulfa, minocycline)
Then several other forms of cancer can also be associated - solid cancers as opposed to blood cancers.
I have been controlling my type 2 diabetes with actos, lipitor, lisinopril, amaryl, and metfirman for the last 2 years. Recently, i was laying down and when I got up I felt my neck grinding. A few days later I noticed my tonuge was numb and tingling. then I noticed my right eye and right side of my face and head was numb. I have been having reduced mucle movement on that side. I do not have insurance and am unable to see a doctor. I get my diabetic medical treatment at a clinic.
m asking please if is it possable that if i take the drug sitagliptin it would mean i could reduce the gliclazide and stop the mrtformin my Diabetes is well controlled on the whole but my nurse as requested i increase the glicazide

If in fact you are a type 1 diabetic, you should not be taking Amaryl. I would say to find yourself a new doctor if he/she thinks that Amaryl is appropriate for juvenile diabetes. But, perhaps there is something I don't know.
Otherwise, just cautiously play with your carbohydrate intake and your insulin dosages. Yes, I agree that a doctor should be consulted about this at first, but eventually you should be running the show.

Just looking for anymore information or advise about withdraws from Fioricet / I have been taking this medication from years from Migrain headaches, it's seemed the longer I was on it the less it helped so I would increase my doses because I could not get rid of my headaches the other day I just stopped using it because it was like just this non stop headache.
I took him off the lithium thinking that was the cause because after doing research sleeping all the time was something major with that drug. I was also thinking that it could be the Coreg because they up the dose last time he saw the doctor but that has had time to get in his system and not be the problem. What I am wondering is if it could be something else with the heart causing the problem.
