I am staying away from it at this point, going back to normal. I think now Adderall was just a fling, I was going through a stressful time and it made me feel like Superman to get through it. After speculating this after the past month, I wouldn't call it addiction -- although I could have been heading there, make no mistake on that.
It was a weird short time for me, I've never heard of or seen that before in anyone I know. Do you (or does anyone) know what you would call that?
OK,.I am now 21 years old. I have been drinking everyday since i was 16...about a bottle of red wine a day. now i try to drink less, but on the weekend when I don't have to work i drink two.... am I addicted? i am not sure. I have gone for a day or two without alochol and I don't have the shakes or anything I just get a bit grumpy for 20 minutes and then I am over it. My question is, I guess...how do I know if I am Physically or Emotionally addicted....because I know it one or the other.
I have always been very thin, but that year i went from being 135 lbs (i am 5 ft 8) to 120 lbs. A few months ago i told my mom that i wanted to switch to adderall because some of my friends are on it and they seem to be have less side affects than i experience. I started taking 20mg a day of the stuff before school, instead of my usual 36mg of Concerta. At first, i felt amazingggg!! I still had the focus affects of the Concerta, but i was much more talkative and happier.
Makes sense...lots of factors to consider...Is your ADD so disabling to be worth risking addiction to these drugs? perhaps a second opinion would be good....Also...if you feel like you are addicted....

In the past few months I am realizing that he is buying more and more adderell, and takes it everyday when he has work and school. Even if he has one or two classes in school I know that he takes up to about 40mgs of adderellxr. The downside of this is that his attitude has changed completely towards me. He is very angry, and irritable.
All the signs were there, eating binges,in bed for a week, her supplier showing up,and meeting with her supplier 2 days before leaving, paying $17 on a bill I gave her $84 to pay,so on so forth.Needless to say, she moved in with her sex offender boyfriend leaving a husband and kids hurting deeply.This was on April 12th and after we tried contacting her she changed her cell# and email so we can't contact her.
t work and then come alive around 4 pm and then start to take the Adderall because I want the great energy to last. I always go to sleep early due to my night meds are sedating and see no reason to stay up when I have to stop the Adderall for the night. So I just take night meds and go to bed. With all I have said my common sense tells me it's time to go back to the hospital to fix all of this. In 17 years it seems every fee years I need to go to adjust my illness.
For what its worth I don't believe you have to have the "addiction gene" to become addicted.
I am just going to open up and tell y'all that I am a 29 yr old NICU RN that was diagnosed with Adult ADD, Not ADHD, @10 yrs ago. I had been trying to study for nursing school needing 6-8 espresso shots a day so I got on Adderall. I've tried other things over the years,but always came back to it.

I've tried to find info on Addy's and depression but it only talks about when you're trying to stop taking it.
I am a 34 year old female. About a year ago a friend at work gave me an addy. It gave me such energy and I felt great! I immediatly find a Dr that will prescribe them to me. I lied and said I had ADD as a child and I need it for college b/c I'm having problems. Both lies. I've never had ADD in my life and didn't think he would give them to me.
I can relate to your post-I was addicted to adderall for 2 yrs-and suboxone w/ it-for one year-when i got off the sub-i still did the adderall-i do have add-but my dr. decieded to take me off-I was a mess on/off it-but i did get off the sub/and the adderall-

Long story short I managed to survive but as a professional accountant for my entire life, I am no longer able to hold a job, My oldest son had to teach me how to drive again,,, it was that catastrophic. My youngest son take Aderall for his ADHD and I have heard that is it effective from people such as myself that suffer from short-term memory loss...? I do not want to become addicted to any drug but is this medically effective to take?
I myself have taken adderall. I have found that combined with Oxy Contin the feeling of euphoria is doubly intoxicating. I thought this was just for me, but found out that alot of Oxy abusers seek out adderall to mix the two. Anyway, I never became addicted to adderall. Simply because I couldn't get as many as I would have liked and I thank god to this day. I have kicked my Oxy habit, so far so good.

t know the full extent. Never been to a meeting or even confessed to a forum. The reason I asked about adderall is because I am moving to a knew apartment on the 1st. As you know after the initial most brutal symptoms comes sluggishness and depression. I have not been able to assist my girlfriend in packing and it is the absolute worst time to be withdrawing. I have not moved from the couch although all physical symptoms has passed.
So freshman year up until last semester, I dabbled with adderall. I mostly used it the days before tests or finals week when I had to cram, largely in part to procrastination, and never really felt any lingering effects the days after.
This semester I have been a lot more efficient with studying and have been doing way better than previous semesters but have been taking adderall more often and am starting to feel some lingering effects.
I know no one here is really qualified to answer this, but how would you think a low dose (10mg) of adderalls stimulating effects, compare to drinking energy drinks, and using nicotine several times a day (I chew, about 3 times per day). I am on a low dose of adderall, 5mg twice per day, it should probably be more but it has a positive effect and im comfortable with it right now.
Stopped taking the adderall because they would refuse to subscribe it, I went back to the same person I was before, out of control, and ended up losing my job, haven't been able to keep a job since then, got into two car accidents, lost all my friends, ect. My life has been destroyed. I don't know what to do.
My dad has been taking Tramadol for 3 years. Before he started taking it, he was addicted to hydrocodone. The family doctor we both see was very free with handing out the painkillers in the past. My doctor was prescribing me 180 pills of Tramadol a month. The nurse that prescribed them told us they were not much stronger than Tylenol, and she didn't warn us of their highly addictive nature. I don't take them anymore, but I know my father does, and I am so worried about his health.
I cannot help but wonder if any of these parents have even taken the time to research the long-term effects of amphetamine on a small child’s mind? I know what adderall has done to my mind after 10 yrs. I started taking adderall in my mid twenties and it has caused some brain damage, it is difficult to remember what I did the day before or telephone numbers. I cannot even imagine what it is doing to a child's mind.
