Of late I have observed that I am lacking general focus and concentration (like my brain goes to sleep). I feel mental tiredness. I have to tell my brain to be alert when I make mistakes counting money bills etc.
I have a suspicion that this is due to the side effect of one or more of the above drugs.
I was on Altace and had problems. Then they put me on the Lopressor (metoprolol) along with the Altace. The altace lower my blood pressure too much, so I stick with the beta blocker and leave out the ace inhibitor. That works for me. But man oh man, I cannot run out of the beta blocker without servious side effects. Maybe in this case using both would help more.
My blood pressure used to be around 150 over 120 with a heart reate of 85 at rest. My doctor put me on Ramipril and Altace if I have the latter one correct. My blood pressure now is 120 over 85. However the resting heart rate is still abou 85.
The fact that you pass out twice a year indicates that something is wrong which needs to be investigated.
I'm quite convinced that if you mention your problems to your employers, they should understand. Your health is far more important.
5 mg x2 coreg and 5mgx2 ACE-I daily I was doing well with my walking and heart condition was more or less stable. Four months after MI I changed my cardiologist and he advised to increase coreg gradually to 25mgx2 daily. I have reached a level of 18.75mgx2 daily in next one month. Thereafter I lost my capacity to walk by half. While walking as soon as my pulse goes beyond 105 bpm I start feeling lightness in head, tired and low.
5mg everyday, for to treat the diabetic nephropathy, i can get ramipril in my town but its 5mg ramipril capsule in the chemists, and his medications are over, so should i let him take the 5mg ramipril? my big concern is would the dose cause hypoglycaemia or any other effects as the dosage will be double the dose hid doctor prescribed? please help me on that, i will be grateful...thank you.
I was put on Ramipril 5mg as my BP was high. Wondering how long it takes to work. My pulse is low a 59 but my BP is still high. Is this normal? Im worried if they put the dose up my pulse will go even lower.
Why is my systolic blood pressure still high when I am taking Altace. My diastolic blood pressure is normal when I take Altace. Why the difference. Could I have angina since I have had pain in my chest around the heart area and in the middle of the chest. Also, could I have arterialschlorsis from the high systolic blood pressure?

I have kidney failure (Gfr generally between 40 and 50 but recently closer to 40), and also crohns which has been in remission for years but has recently been shown to be very active. My problem is for about 12 months now I have been prescribed ramipril for my kidneys and high blood pressure, but in the last few months and weeks (it seems to me since crohns has become active) it is making me feel absolutely terrible.
The mixture of Metroprolol, Ezitrol, Lipitor, Ramipril, Isordil, Plavix, Nexium and Aspro and now Coralan leaves me feeling quite week and lathargic and always very tired. My BP is steady at around 100/60, my cholesterol is below 4. I did used to walk about 2km a day before I started Coralan even though I got angina, but now I feel I just dont have the energy to do the walk to see if I still get angina.
Not sure what yer answer might be but thought Id write this down anyway.

Taking Ramipril In morning for several years. Recently started taking Laxido & banana (for breakfast). About the same time started coughing frequently but intermittently & became slightly breathless when walking. 2 days ago doctor called Emergency as I had persistent chest pain & burping. No heart attack but abnormal ecg, which however improved after being in A&E for several hours. Wondering if Ramipril + laxido + banana too much potassium?
Trying to figure if problems ae heart? Brain? or both? It first began with me hearing my pulses in my ear. I lost alot of weight and my MD says the auditory nerve is very close to cartoid artery so it picks up pulses. Sometimes pulses are stronger and annoying. I'm 68 yr male, have had all blood work all ok. No procedure to remove this sound
but there are other occurrances...sometimes, heart will begin to beat at double its rate and last for hours, even if I am sitting and relaxing.
Never had a heart attack. The Cardio put me on Metoprolol ( 50mg); Altace 2.5 mg and baby aspirin in addition to Lipitor 20mg. Sep. 2009 he took me off the Metoprolol and increased the Altace to 10 mg.
My Blood potassium level at the time was perfectly normal at 3.6; after the spike in the ace-inhibitor my potassium level has risen in two months to 5.6, which I believe is an unsafe level. My family doctor has now asked me to go back to the 2.5 mg dosage and get re-tested after two weeks.
That's what we're wondering. The doctors said the ramipril is not just for blood pressure but is also for his weak heart to see if it improves the EF. They've sent him for additional tests and even recommended a higher dose of ramipril despite the fact that his oxygen level was 114 when he did the bicycle test. The doctor kept talking about him being in a state of heart failure which is very unsettling.
I take Toprol XL 200 mgs. and Altace 20mgs. and have for many years however recently I have experienced an increase in blood pressure. I have lost some weight and continue to diet as well as exercise. My doctor has tried two calcium channel blockers with the results that I become very ill and unable to continue these medications. Any suggestions?
