altace

Avatar f tn If you have been taking the medication more than 2 weeks, you may need a change of medication or an increase in dosage. Systole pressure is the pressure at rest and not effected be vessel resistance. Often if there is chest pain (angina), the pain subsides almost immediately with rest from the exertion that caused the pain. However, there can be chest pain both with or without exertion. You may want to discuss the matter with your doctor expecially if you have shortness of breath as well.
Avatar f tn If you can't reach your doctor before the procedure, do not take the medication. It is best to take it with you and ask when you get there. This way if they don't want you to take it, you can, immediately after your procedure. Your dose from the day before will carry you for awhile into the next day.
15695260 tn?1549593113 Common medications in this class of drugs are commonly used medications such as captopril (Capoten), fosinopril (Monopril), lisinopril (Prinivil or Zestril), perindopril (Aceon), ramipril (Altace) and trandolapril (Mavik). It should be noted that this research was not done as a clinical trial but rather an 'observational study' where older adults with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia were being studied. About a quarter were on ACE inhibitors and they observed this benefit.
Avatar n tn The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
Avatar n tn How much Tylenol were you taking? Were you abusing it?
Avatar f tn I was on Altace and had problems. Then they put me on the Lopressor (metoprolol) along with the Altace. The altace lower my blood pressure too much, so I stick with the beta blocker and leave out the ace inhibitor. That works for me. But man oh man, I cannot run out of the beta blocker without servious side effects. Maybe in this case using both would help more.
Avatar m tn Never had a heart attack. The Cardio put me on Metoprolol ( 50mg); Altace 2.5 mg and baby aspirin in addition to Lipitor 20mg. Sep. 2009 he took me off the Metoprolol and increased the Altace to 10 mg. My Blood potassium level at the time was perfectly normal at 3.6; after the spike in the ace-inhibitor my potassium level has risen in two months to 5.6, which I believe is an unsafe level. My family doctor has now asked me to go back to the 2.5 mg dosage and get re-tested after two weeks.
Avatar m tn While I understand that this is probably a temporary side effect of the ablation and medication is this the case. I am taking Altace, Atenolol and Coumadin. Could this be Bradycardia?
Avatar n tn I have only been put on the beta blocker to lower my blood pressure. No angina, heart arrythmias, or any other heart issues. I also know that you have to gradually cut down getting off of them and not all of a sudden! I have never been happy about being on them eversince I was put on them when my BP was high! I would like to talk to a medical doctor/alternative medicine doctor to help me, but I don't know of one in my area that anyone is familiar with!
Avatar f tn I take it that even though the anesthesia will help to relax a patient during such a procedure, I wondered is it still okay for a patient to take their hypertension medication (such as IC Cartia 360 mg, Atenonlol 12.5 mg and Altace 10 mg.)? Would the pressure go to low with the anesthesia or go to high without the hypertension medications?
21064 tn?1309308733 I would definitely set up an appointment to meet with the doctor in person. Your dad should not have to be feeling so much nausea. I can't say which medication would cause the nausea, but the doctor should be able to rule in/out some possibilities.

Avatar f tn of Cardizem LA once a day and was curious if anyone else here was taking this medication? If so, what side effects do or did you have? So far (only the first day) I haven't had any. Also, did the medication work for you as far as lowering your blood pressure?
Avatar n tn From what I understand, plaque can begin to accumulate from childhood. As a child, I was spoiled through treats and dining out. Being from the south our diners were cooked by the motto that gravy and bacon made everything taste better. What can be done to reverse plague that has build up for 30 something years? Other than exercise and diet, is there any kind of treatment, medication, "super-food" (the fad of the day it seems) that will do the trick?
Avatar n tn I take Lipitor, Nexium, and Altace for high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heartburn. I had femoral artery blockages 13 years ago and was a smoker. Guys, I'm not making this up, somebody please advise if you ever heard of such a thing, this is very alarming. My penis has shrunk and appears to be continuing to do so. HELP!
Avatar m tn Had multiple stents (4) placed four (4) years ago, two in LAD with no side effects and good nuclear and stress test results over this period. Am currently taking Plavix/Aspirin/Coreg/Altace. Need arthroscopic repair on knee but concerned over cessating of Plavix. One cardiologist recommended ending Plavix entirely, second (same practice) would rather wait for a large study about to be completed. Suggestions?
Avatar n tn They put in 2 short stents and first two and longer stent in the longer area overlapping with stent for 85% blockage. Sent home with Plavix, Altace (Ramiprimil) and Lipitor (Ran-Atorvastatin). plus ASA. Have only taken Plavix and ASA so far and have a sort of congested feeling in esophagus and stomach-Like mild indigestion, feeling full and feeling like stuffing self when eat. Still in shock and ajusting. I have Fibro so other limitations and my wife has alzheimers so that is a big stress.
Avatar m tn It has been working for me without questions. I am on Cholesterol meds and hypertension meds(Metoprolol, Altace and Norvasc) which I have been taking for the last two years. Recently I used some viagra two hours before an encounter with my date. I started drinking after the taking the Viagra. The viagra did not work....I took another one and waited awhile and it still didn't work...I took one more and waited a while with no results....
Avatar m tn I have had 3 heart attacks and 3 stents in RCA. I continued to have angina. I had alot of episodes that would wake me out of a dead sleep. I was put on Norvasc (calcium channel blocker) in additon to Lopressor and Altace. Haven't had any spasms lately. Hope you feel better.
907729 tn?1244174363 d suggest that you ask your primary care doctor to recommend a surgeon in your area, if only to discuss your operative risk and also to learn more about the various procedures available. I think this is the next step for you. If you'd like to post further about your heart condition, I can try to provide more information. Take care!
Avatar m tn Hi: I used to be on flecinade for 3-4 years and it worked great - basically it was akin to nitro - when I went into Afib it would quickly help restore sinus rythm. I'm now on sotolol and altace (blood pressure) which seems to help keep my heart rate down but it feels like a war as my heart wants to race. I'm not sure of any side effects as I have several issues but it does work to keep my heart rate below 100's and most often in the 60's - 70's.
Avatar n tn We have his treatment from All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS). He is on medicines completely as doctor says there is no treatment for this disease and also poor survival. However, we are not at all satisfied by his treatment. Please tell me how severe is this problem, what could be best possibility of treatment as he also diabetic and what medicines he should take.
Avatar n tn The doctor seemed surprised that I never got tired, dizzy, light-headed, short-of-breath, or faint. He prescribed daily Coreg & Altace, & over the years & it has risen to 45-50 (but I don't feel any different). Is it possible that it's just 'normal' for me to have a low ejection fraction? I sometimes walk on a treadmill for an hour, or walk 2-3 miles a day (at a leisurely pace), & the only thing I get is sweaty & bored--not exhausted.
