altace

Avatar m tn It has been working for me without questions. I am on Cholesterol meds and hypertension meds(Metoprolol, Altace and Norvasc) which I have been taking for the last two years. Recently I used some viagra two hours before an encounter with my date. I started drinking after the taking the Viagra. The viagra did not work....I took another one and waited awhile and it still didn't work...I took one more and waited a while with no results....
Avatar f tn Why is my systolic blood pressure still high when I am taking Altace. My diastolic blood pressure is normal when I take Altace. Why the difference. Could I have angina since I have had pain in my chest around the heart area and in the middle of the chest. Also, could I have arterialschlorsis from the high systolic blood pressure? This discussion is related to high systolic normal diastolic blood pressure?.
Avatar m tn Never had a heart attack. The Cardio put me on Metoprolol ( 50mg); Altace 2.5 mg and baby aspirin in addition to Lipitor 20mg. Sep. 2009 he took me off the Metoprolol and increased the Altace to 10 mg. My Blood potassium level at the time was perfectly normal at 3.6; after the spike in the ace-inhibitor my potassium level has risen in two months to 5.6, which I believe is an unsafe level. My family doctor has now asked me to go back to the 2.5 mg dosage and get re-tested after two weeks.
Avatar f tn Have you checked in with your eye MD?
Avatar n tn How much Tylenol were you taking? Were you abusing it?
Avatar f tn I take Toprol XL 200 mgs. and Altace 20mgs. and have for many years however recently I have experienced an increase in blood pressure. I have lost some weight and continue to diet as well as exercise. My doctor has tried two calcium channel blockers with the results that I become very ill and unable to continue these medications. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn 5 mg and Altace 10 mg.) 5 hours before having an Endoscopy? Would the pressure go to low with the anesthesia or go to high without the hypertension medications?
15695260 tn?1549593113 Common medications in this class of drugs are commonly used medications such as captopril (Capoten), fosinopril (Monopril), lisinopril (Prinivil or Zestril), perindopril (Aceon), ramipril (Altace) and trandolapril (Mavik). It should be noted that this research was not done as a clinical trial but rather an 'observational study' where older adults with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia were being studied. About a quarter were on ACE inhibitors and they observed this benefit.
Avatar f tn I was on Altace and had problems. Then they put me on the Lopressor (metoprolol) along with the Altace. The altace lower my blood pressure too much, so I stick with the beta blocker and leave out the ace inhibitor. That works for me. But man oh man, I cannot run out of the beta blocker without servious side effects. Maybe in this case using both would help more.
Avatar f tn I NEED INFO!!!!......ok i have been prone to UTI's for about 2 years, but last UTI was about 4 months ago and it lasted 4 weeks if not more, i took AZO for 3 weeks and cranberry supplements since, i was really worried but dont have health insurance and im also a nursing student. I know this is not normal so i have been doing my own research. But i have developed more symptoms......
Avatar m tn well a pulse of 48-50 does sound like bradycardia, but maybe it was just intermittent?i got my ablation a week ago and i am getting the odd thumping sensation ,i think palps are normal for a while after the procedure but not sure about the pulse rate.........
Avatar m tn I have had 3 heart attacks and 3 stents in RCA. I continued to have angina. I had alot of episodes that would wake me out of a dead sleep. I was put on Norvasc (calcium channel blocker) in additon to Lopressor and Altace. Haven't had any spasms lately. Hope you feel better.
Avatar f tn I take it that even though the anesthesia will help to relax a patient during such a procedure, I wondered is it still okay for a patient to take their hypertension medication (such as IC Cartia 360 mg, Atenonlol 12.5 mg and Altace 10 mg.)? Would the pressure go to low with the anesthesia or go to high without the hypertension medications?
Avatar n tn In the meantime ask for a referral to Physical Therapy to document what exactly is and is not weak. By then a month will have passed and the doc will have more info. If you are still anxious or the doc has any question, then an MRI done with the MS Protocol would be in order. You certainly are welcome to stay around and ask questions while all this is playing out. That way we get to hear what the thougts are in a month.
Avatar m tn Hi: I used to be on flecinade for 3-4 years and it worked great - basically it was akin to nitro - when I went into Afib it would quickly help restore sinus rythm. I'm now on sotolol and altace (blood pressure) which seems to help keep my heart rate down but it feels like a war as my heart wants to race. I'm not sure of any side effects as I have several issues but it does work to keep my heart rate below 100's and most often in the 60's - 70's.
Avatar n tn I take Lipitor, Nexium, and Altace for high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heartburn. I had femoral artery blockages 13 years ago and was a smoker. Guys, I'm not making this up, somebody please advise if you ever heard of such a thing, this is very alarming. My penis has shrunk and appears to be continuing to do so. HELP!
Avatar m tn Had multiple stents (4) placed four (4) years ago, two in LAD with no side effects and good nuclear and stress test results over this period. Am currently taking Plavix/Aspirin/Coreg/Altace. Need arthroscopic repair on knee but concerned over cessating of Plavix. One cardiologist recommended ending Plavix entirely, second (same practice) would rather wait for a large study about to be completed. Suggestions?
Avatar n tn I am on High blood pressure medicine (Altace, which some sites do list tingling and leg weakness as side effects, though my GP does not think so). My Neuro did all the blood work and that is normal (Lyme, ANA, CBC, B12, ESR, CAT Scan) He is somehow asking for a month wait to order any MRI or other test. Does this fall within the McDonald criteria for diagnosis and that is why he is waiting??? Should I be concerned with this and pursue other Neuro?
343006 tn?1314446471 I think you should find a new doctor. Most BP meds cause nasty side-effects such as allergies, nasal congestion, sneezing, itching eyes and nose, at least for me. I had to get off ACE, ARB, and alpha blockers. I am now on beta blocker Bystolic. Tired and slower heart rate. Some allergic reaction but not as bad as Diovan, Norvasc, Altace, Exforge, Cardura. I don't know much about CCB;s in general. I empathise with you and wish you the best.
Avatar n tn , and have had the side effects of weight gain, slow metabolism, high cholesterol, and insomnia, and would like to know if I could just increase the dosage of the ace inhibitor -altace that I am also taking for this? And then maybe slowyly getting off and away from the beta blocker completely!
Avatar m tn HE DID NOT PROSCRIBE ANYTHING OTHER THAN TELLING ME TO STAY ON ALTACE...RECENTLY (ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO) I BEGAN GETTING INCREASINGLY TIRED, CONSISTENTLY LIGHTHEADED AND OVERLY FATIGUED...I WAS TOLD I HAVE CELIAC DISEASE AND WENT BACK TO WORK...ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO THE FATIGUE BEGAN TO GET UNBEARABLE WENT TO THE HOSPITAL HAD A CATHERITIZATION AND WAS TOLD MY STENOSIS DID NOT CHANGE, HAVE NO RESTING LVOT, CONTINUE TO HAVE A PROVOCABLE LVOT AND THAT AN MRI REVEALED ASEPTAL THICKNESS OF 1.
Avatar f tn He said the cough was a known Altace side effect and that I would have weigh the benefits of continuing to take Altace against the annoyance of the cough. I continued on Altace and but after a few months I coughed up blood for the first time. Prior to this, my cough had been dry. In June 2008. I found a new MD and explained my cough and family history (2 parents with lung cancer). She immediately took me off Altace and ordered a chest X-Ray.
Avatar m tn My EF was in the 30's, and was slowly advanced to 25 mg Coreg twice a day, and 10 mg of Altace. My EF increased, but like you I had extreme fatigue issues, and I had several fainting episodes at night because of low blood pressure. The Coreg was reduced to 6.25 X 2 and the Altace reduced to 5mg, and I'm getting along fine.
Avatar n tn Several years ago, after a routine stress test, I was told my ejection fraction was 32 (I had no blockages). The doctor seemed surprised that I never got tired, dizzy, light-headed, short-of-breath, or faint. He prescribed daily Coreg & Altace, & over the years & it has risen to 45-50 (but I don't feel any different). Is it possible that it's just 'normal' for me to have a low ejection fraction?
907729 tn?1244174363 Your low ejection fraction does increase your surgical risk, even in the absence of any significant blockages on your recent angiogram. I do think that speaking with a surgeon still would be useful in terms of understanding your level of risk better.
Avatar m tn My heart rate and blood pressure would get too low if I took the Altace with the others. I take Metropolol, Isosorbide (Isordil), Norvasc, Tricor, and Nitro as needed, but stopped a few of the other drugs. As far as walking, it is still an effort for me to get started. I am so sleepy at times, but I know it is doing me a world of good. Did they mention doing a bypass? I have a stent in my RCA.
