Altace blood pressure

Common Questions and Answers about Altace blood pressure

altace

Avatar f tn Why is my systolic blood pressure still high when I am taking Altace. My diastolic blood pressure is normal when I take Altace. Why the difference. Could I have angina since I have had pain in my chest around the heart area and in the middle of the chest. Also, could I have arterialschlorsis from the high systolic blood pressure? This discussion is related to high systolic normal diastolic blood pressure?.
15695260 tn?1549593113 Certain medications that have been prescribed to lower blood pressure can slow dementia in seniors. ACE inhibitors showed a somewhat slower decline in memory and other mental skills than patients not on the drugs for some patients. Common medications in this class of drugs are commonly used medications such as captopril (Capoten), fosinopril (Monopril), lisinopril (Prinivil or Zestril), perindopril (Aceon), ramipril (Altace) and trandolapril (Mavik).
754107 tn?1233668478 Three weeks ago I had my second ablation surgury (last was 5 yrs ago); they had to ablate about 900 points/spots which seems to represent about 40% or more of my heart. A week after the surgury I was readmitted as I was in Afib for about 8 hours straight (I've gone for days before the surgury) with my heart rate running in the 150's - 200.
Avatar m tn I have a heart rate most of the time from 42 to 50 BPM , my blood pressure is usually 145 to 160 over 75 to 80. My cardiologist has me taking 75 mg, of Lopressor, 360 mg, of verapamil, .4 mg nitroglycerin patch. And now he wants to add 10 mg of Ramapril ( Altace ) a day, my recent cardiosrams have have shown sinus bradycardia.
Avatar f tn I was on Altace and had problems. Then they put me on the Lopressor (metoprolol) along with the Altace. The altace lower my blood pressure too much, so I stick with the beta blocker and leave out the ace inhibitor. That works for me. But man oh man, I cannot run out of the beta blocker without servious side effects. Maybe in this case using both would help more.
Avatar n tn I have only been put on the beta blocker to lower my blood pressure. No angina, heart arrythmias, or any other heart issues. I also know that you have to gradually cut down getting off of them and not all of a sudden! I have never been happy about being on them eversince I was put on them when my BP was high! I would like to talk to a medical doctor/alternative medicine doctor to help me, but I don't know of one in my area that anyone is familiar with!
Avatar m tn Hi: I used to be on flecinade for 3-4 years and it worked great - basically it was akin to nitro - when I went into Afib it would quickly help restore sinus rythm. I'm now on sotolol and altace (blood pressure) which seems to help keep my heart rate down but it feels like a war as my heart wants to race. I'm not sure of any side effects as I have several issues but it does work to keep my heart rate below 100's and most often in the 60's - 70's.
Avatar n tn I take Lipitor, Nexium, and Altace for high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heartburn. I had femoral artery blockages 13 years ago and was a smoker. Guys, I'm not making this up, somebody please advise if you ever heard of such a thing, this is very alarming. My penis has shrunk and appears to be continuing to do so. HELP!
Avatar f tn 5 mg and Altace 10 mg.) 5 hours before having an Endoscopy? Would the pressure go to low with the anesthesia or go to high without the hypertension medications?
Avatar f tn i dont urinate but maybe twice a day, in the last month i have developed a high blood sugar in which i have been watching its averaging 130-140, blood pressure is increasing, pain in lower back, and worst of all is im lathargic!!!
Avatar m tn I have had 3 heart attacks and 3 stents in RCA. I continued to have angina. I had alot of episodes that would wake me out of a dead sleep. I was put on Norvasc (calcium channel blocker) in additon to Lopressor and Altace. Haven't had any spasms lately. Hope you feel better.
Avatar f tn I take it that even though the anesthesia will help to relax a patient during such a procedure, I wondered is it still okay for a patient to take their hypertension medication (such as IC Cartia 360 mg, Atenonlol 12.5 mg and Altace 10 mg.)? Would the pressure go to low with the anesthesia or go to high without the hypertension medications?
Avatar f tn Cardizem is a calcium channel blocker and I take it to control my high blood pressure and to lower heart rate during atrial fibrillation. The only minor side effect caused by the cardizem was slightly swollen ankles, My cardiologist prescribed HCTZ (a diuretic) to counter that and now my ankles are normal (I take a combo of three meds to control BP: cardizem, altace and HCTZ)..
Avatar f tn Have you checked in with your eye MD?
Avatar n tn How much Tylenol were you taking? Were you abusing it?
Avatar m tn My EF was in the 30's, and was slowly advanced to 25 mg Coreg twice a day, and 10 mg of Altace. My EF increased, but like you I had extreme fatigue issues, and I had several fainting episodes at night because of low blood pressure. The Coreg was reduced to 6.25 X 2 and the Altace reduced to 5mg, and I'm getting along fine.
518001 tn?1212419235 I was also having some headaches at this time and my blood pressure was slightly elevated for a year. My GP put me on a low dose of Altace 2.5mg daily for this and it took care of it. This was four years ago, and my BP is still under control.
Avatar m tn I have read in here that this can happen with certain types of blood pressure medicines. It seems to include ace inhibitors and beta blockers. I feel almost sure your mother is taking one or more of these. I know for a fact that Altace can cause significant hair loss or thinning. Let me know what she is taking and I will do a google search and see what I come up with. Take care, Ally.
Avatar m tn My pacer was inserted three years ago, and my heart rate and blood pressure rates were great afterwards. However, I had to have bypass surgery, and following the surgery my heart rate and blood pressure was hard to control. The docs contacted my pacer manufacturer and together, they found the problem. I'd strongly urge you to contact St. Judes and send them the very well worded post that you sent us, and ask them for some help. St.
1464004 tn?1384135733 ACE Inhibitors and ARBs are an alternate way to lower blood pressure, but you and your physician would need to determine if they are right for you. Both are prescription medications and act on vessels throughout the body. Here is a link about them, Beta Blockers, and Calcium Channel Blockers. http://www.everydayhealth.com/heart-disease/other-drugs-for-heart-disease.
Avatar m tn 2) I also notice you tried Altace- again, do you have high blood pressure? Or did they think you might have CHF (congestive heart failure)? G) I see potassium on your list of things tried- did you have a potassium deficiency? If you did, that can cause cramps in your lower extremities. H) It looks like you've tried a number of pain medications, neurological drugs, a migraine abortive medication (Maxalt), antibiotics (do you get frequent infections?
Avatar n tn Are you asking if there are any exercises which can cure high blood pressure?
Avatar f tn Everything was good except my blood pressure was high for the first time. They told me not to worry and im not. But just wondering how likely it could be that id get pre eclampsia. I only have three weeks to go so thought i was safe from that. Lol. What should i look out for or do till my next appointment?
