Avatar f tn Hi, I recently moved from south Georgia out to Shreveport, LA. I've never had any kind of allergies other than maybe a sneeze here and there from Ragweed or whatever. But since moving out here, I'm experiencing something terribly irritating with my eyes and a slight runny nose. I work in a restaurant, not a very clean restaurant, mind you. My eyes really bother me at work. They run, get some kind of 'glaze' over them, makes it hard to work really.

Avatar f tn What kinds of allergy issues does he have ? Has your husband ever had allergy tests given by an allergist ? Does your husband have asthma by any chance? You ask if anyone can tell you what areas in the Greater Houston area are more allergen free. I think it would depend on what your husband is allergic to. Avatar m tn i am 42 years male suffering from dust allergy, while waking up i have sneezing in morning , nose block in winter seasons & not able to identify smell of any thing.kindly advice. thanks, C.
Avatar n tn As a serious allergy sufferer myself, I don't think you can get relief from these allergies until the air is cleared. I hardly think that an air purifier will do much good, if your husband won't give up smoking, because those toxins will always be in the air, even if he smokes outside. Latest research on mercola.com shows that the best and safest way to quit is cold turkey. The articles he wrote about this are really very interesting and enlightening.
Avatar n tn I have a lot of common allergies, such as dust, strong chemicals, pollen, animals etc. But these symptoms which I get in certain office buildings certainly differ from normal allergy and antihistamins are not efficient to them.
Avatar m tn Dog allergies are very common and due to saliva of the dog. “Allergy to dogs is relatively common, as dog allergen can be found in public places, including daycare facilities.” “For people with dog allergy, avoidance of dogs is the mainstay of therapy. Allergy medications are likely to help control symptoms, but in many instances symptoms may persist if the person owns one or more indoor dogs. Allergy shots may also be a good treatment option for people who are allergic to their pet dogs.
Avatar f tn Take a look online for yourself, because these are a godsend to anyone with airborne allergies. I suggest the honeycomb filtration mask over the dust mask because it filters a lot more particulates. The filters are disposable, but they will last a very long time. These masks are a lot easier to clean and maintain than the big bulky kinds of gas masks that I have seen others with MCS wear. I think the mask will help.
Avatar m tn I live in an area of Texas (Austin) that may be the worst for allergy sufferers. I was much better in February but March has brought back the clogged ears, tinnitus, and severally stuffy nose. I have had this for 2 1/2 weeks now. Back in December I was on 4 weeks of antibiotics for an infection which helped me heal. I am not currently on antibiotics but I am on steroid nose sprays, zyrtec and singulair and nothing seems to help. The ringing, clogged ears and stuffy nose are killing me.

During the day difficulty breathing through her nose so a lot of mouth breathing and wheezing due to mucus. Pediatrician has been treating with nasal spray (for minor nasal tissue swelling), nebulizer with albuterol, and most recently claritin. Avatar f tn Hi, I recently started seeing a board certified doctor who also believes in vitamins and herbal supplements. Now you need to check with a doctor to make sure that you don't have any other medications that these supplements might mess with but I'm taking feverfew for both migraines and asthma. Also magnesium is a relaxer and helps people get to sleep. Check it out online and check with a doctor. This might be a muscle relaxing idea.
Avatar f tn This seems like a dust allergy, and I end up buying a new ac every couple of years and for some reason the symptoms go away. But it's costly! This year, same thing again, bought a new ac, but still have swollen eyelids. My bedroom has no carpet but I am losing my mind. Can anyone help with thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!
Avatar n tn Can you have allergy symptoms from air conditioners? I noticed right around the time the air conditioner went on that I was getting all stuffed up and sneezing and my eyes are watering, can this be from the air conditioning?

Avatar f tn Also, you should clean your system air filters monthly. You may also want to try using the air filters that fit inside the vents them selves. A HEPA system in your house may prove useful. 2) Is there a mold source from a leaky pipe somewhere? That will need to be properly fixed and cleaned up by a mold treatment company. 3) Have you tried allergy proof covers on your bedding - mattress, boxsprings and pillows.? Pollen and dust mites in your bedding could be part of the problem.
Avatar m tn I had normal skin my whole life. Better then most as far as reacting to anything and fast healing. I developed a rash in the worst place imaginable. I initially thought it was jock itch but after nine months and four dermatologists. They said it's eczema. I went for allergy testing and found out I was allergic to animal dander and dust mites. My rash hasn't responded to any medication and burns but doesn't itch.
Avatar m tn Air filters of the ac trap allergens, like molds, dust and pollen. So maintain clean air filters. Also replace all heavy upholstery with light curtains and sofas. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn Two things. Did you take the allergy pills for more than one day? So many people will take a pill or two and think that should cure them. They need to be taken every day...every day....every day. Second thing...do you know what you're allergic to? If you haven't been tested, then I suggest doing that. If you can't be tested due to cost or whatever, then try the process of elimination. Start with foods, pets, or anything else that seems to make you worse.
