Common Questions and Answers about Allergy vitamins

allergies

Avatar f tn I'm 23 weeks pregnant. And I find it very hard to remember my vitamins. When I got them the doctor told me to take them on a full tummy or I'd be sorry. Problem is I still have morning sickness bad. I feel horrible like I'm neglecting the baby. But the doctor says he is healthy. Any advice?
Avatar n tn I have been taking vitamins and supplements off and on for years. I did have a 'flushing' with niacin a couple of years ago and so I avoid it now. All of a suddena couple of nights ago, I got this itchy rash on the front and sides of my neck and upper chest. The only thing I did differently was take a protein shake, adding in a joint supplemental powder. MSM, Chrondrotin, etc. Has anyone ever had a rash from those joint supplements?
Avatar f tn As indicated epipen is for emergencies. Vitamins may not help with preventing allergies. The diagnosis of allergy is difficult to prove or refute. Clinical suspicion and trial of elimination diets are used. An allergy specialist might be able to help you. He may try to identify the offending allergen and try to desensitize you. Hope this helped and Do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn The gummies are great but be careful switching brands. I had a bbbaaaaaddd alergic reaction. My ob says it's because they used oils from different fish and I dont even have a fish allergy! Good luck hun!
Avatar f tn I have never eaten any form of seaweed since. Some vitamins I bought have kelp as the source of iodine. Is this risky for me to use as kelp is a form of seaweed?
Avatar n tn I know that I can't take multi-vitamins or B-complex vitamins myself. I recently learned from reading this forum that people allergic to B-complex are usually allergic to B3 and B6. For me there is no doubt that I was reacting to B6, since I had been trying to take it separately. My symptoms went away when I stopped taking B6. Someone once asked me if I had been flushing, since niacin will make people flush. No, I had a different symptom altogether that was clearly an allergic response.
Avatar f tn m 43 and I have never had strep before or even had a disease to double back on me. After reading online some of the reactions others have had to multi vitamins im wondering if im allergic to something in the vitamins thats causing the throat and chest pain? Also, i have only been on the vitamins for 3 wk and i have had strep twice in the last 2 weeks. If someone could please advise me i would appreciate any insight.
Avatar n tn I've had asthma since I was 10 yrs old, I'm now 27. I've played soccer since I was a kid and never had any serious issues. About 2 yrs ago I had a real bad cold/sinus infection and ended up in the ER because of my asthma. Ever since then, I have not been able to get my asthma under control. I've been prescribed almost everything you can think of, steroids, albuterol, xopenex (inhaler and inhalation solution), budesonide, mucinex and that's just for my asthma.
Avatar f tn It's summer - it's a big time for allergies. Even if you've never experienced allergies before, they can develop at any time. Or are you exposed to something new? Are you living in a house with mold? Working in a building with mold? Allergy-proof your house as much as you can - vacuum regularly, get new hypoallergenic pillows (old pillows hold a LOT of dust and all kinds of nasties) and get allergy covers for them.
Avatar f tn I find all the sensitivities to hormones and vitamins strange as both are nature building blocks of the body. I found this on acidic vitamins: "Acidic vitamins play a special role in maintaining the health of the human body in that they each contribute to cell health and formation. While vitamin C primarily acts a cell anti-oxidant, vitamins B9 and B5 contribute to cell formation and the carrying of human genetic information.
587663 tn?1220401559 With colon sensitivities i have found that staying away from vitamins is best for me... I cannot digest them properly. You should get most of your vitamins from a well balanced diet. Of course each is different. Do watch your trigger foods. I can tolerate 1% milk and do take a calcium/vit-d tablet..with magnesium everyday. Perhaps you may like to try this yourself. Best to you.
Avatar f tn I recently developed blisters in my palate. The entire area on the left side is bright red and anything I eat or drink burns terribly. I did not burn my mouth with anything. This just suddenly appeared. My dentist gave me an antibiotic liquid that I hold in my mouth for 3-4 minutes four times a day. Almost two weeks now and only the blisters are gone but I have an area where it feels like there is a hole in my palate and my gums on that sound of my mouth are turning bright red.
Avatar f tn I went to my doctor and he said it was an allergy. He gave me some kind of iodine solution and an antibiotic cream and today they havegone down in size and some of the redness has gone. Thanks again!!!!!
Avatar f tn Hello~Certain drugs will say not to, but if they don't, or if they are vitamins, herbs or minerals, I don't see any reason not to. I use to do it with all my vitamins due to food allergies, you see, most of the capsules are made from beef gelatin, I was allergic to beef, so I opened them up and put the contents in orange juice, it didn't taste too great, but it was the way for me to get my vitamins.
Avatar f tn I dont think its the prenatal vitamins I think its prengnacy alone haha I had terrible headaches in my first 3 months of pregnancy. They are better now and only come and go. They will get better and will go away eventually. Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy!
Avatar f tn Tired of the whole thing I went to an Allergy doctor and he seems to think that it is NOT a food allergy or anything related to my laundry washes - he said it might be a fungal infection and told me to use Lotramin on it for 2 weeks and see how it goes. He also said I could get tested for common cosmetic ingredients, etc. but I don't put any of my skincare or makeup on my actual neck...
Avatar n tn ve tried taking womens vitamins, all kinds of immune vitamins... nothing seems to improve or help. I even ended up getting c diff and landed in the hospital for about a week due to taking so many antibiotics... last course they put me on for 3 weeks... I am so afraid to get sick again... but I already feel it coming on now that I'm toward the end of the c diff issue..
Avatar m tn I am hoping to get information from anyone who knows about or has a vitamin D allergy. I've recently realized that Vitamin D causes me to itch. The itch can start anywhere on my body and tends to spread over the course of 30 to 60 minutes. This always happens after taking Vitamin D capsules or tablets. It often happens after having foods that are high in Vitamin D such as milk, cheese, raisins and red meat. I would like to learn as much as possible about allergies to Vitamin D.
Avatar f tn My cousin was allergic to peanuts before she got pregnant. Then when she got pregnant, her allergy went away and she was able to eat them. After giving birth, her allergy came back. Her son isn't allergic to them.
