Common Questions and Answers about Allergy testing ohio

allergies

Avatar f tn It sounds more like allergies than a cold, maybe even chronic sinusitis. I would get allergy testing done and try antihistamines instead of cold meds. Vitamin C with Quercitin and bromelain are great natural antihistamines, I prefer liquid natural treatments. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn We can develop allergies to different things throughout our lifetimes as the allergy develops in response to a repeated stimulus. If you haven't undergone formal allergy testing, that might be beneficial. Under a doctor's supervision, foods that have caused allergies in the past can sometimes be added slowly back into the diet.
Avatar n tn My pediatrician wants me to take my son for allergy testing, but his only symptom is coughing. He has no other symptoms, has had a chest and sinus X-ray, which were normal. He has had antibiotics and steroids. The cough has not gone away. Not sure why he thinks it is an allergy... Please advise. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Allergy testing in children is not terribly reliable, my son's doctor says. She says they can come up as sensitive to something that in real life they don't actually react to, and not show as sensitive to something that the parents know from observation that they are allergic to. She says it is better to just observe carefully, and test by experimenting with one food at a time.
Avatar n tn It sounds like it could be an allergy too. Try some allergy meds that are on an approved list for pregnancy. Same goes for cold meds unless you'd like a more natural route. If its not allergies rest, fluids, extra vitamin C, non caffeinated tea with lemon, ginger, honey, etc.
Avatar n tn i see you got your labs done in ohio, could you tell me where in ohio you got the biokit done? i am having a hard time finding any place, thanks This discussion is related to testing results/questions.
Avatar f tn When you say allergic to acrylic, what do you mean? If you are referring to the burning sensation, this is not true allergy, but a side effect. True allergy implies rash, itching/swelling, or wheezing. I have personally never seen an allergic reaction to acrylic or silicone intraocular lenses. These materials are very biocompatible within the eye. Even patients who had problems with silicone breast implants do not have to worry about the silicone intraocular lens implants.
Avatar f tn Where can I get the titanium allergy testing to see if I am sensitive to the hardware in my neck? I believe it is called the Melisa test and it is a blood test. Does anyone know where I can get this done?
Avatar f tn is generally used as the control for intradermal testing). After the testing I was told I showed no allergies, but to still use caution. As a result, I haven't eaten any nuts & am pretty much petrified that they could appear in any foods I eat. This morning I went in for a food challenge w/ walnuts, since that seems to be what caused the initial reaction. They did this by first having me eat a small piece of walnut (about 1/4 of a walnut).
136956 tn?1688675680 I am just curious if any of you have done Vega testing and what your thoughts are. I usually dont go to holistic doctors but I have been chronically ill for 20yrs. So I thought, well lets just go see what she says. She is reputable and I know many who have gone to her. I have read that there is no scientific evidence and that it is only 70-80% accurate She said that Wheat, Spelt and Dairy allergy plus candida in both the small and large bowel.
Avatar f tn Any Ohio mommys? Just curious moved to Ohio in april with my husband and I'm 8 weeks 1 day!
635835 tn?1272539383 Well, first of all, sorry that the test showed something. But I know it's reassuring to know there really is a reason why you're having these problems. If I haven't mentioned this already, ask your neuro about optical coherence tomography. It's a test that measures the thickness of your optic nerve. It will show atrophy common to MS, even when the MRI shows no lesion activity.
Avatar m tn My doctor has suddenly started asking for a urine test each month to prescribe my medicine. I have been taking this for years now and never been asked before. The medicine is xanax and is for the shakes i occasionally get with graves disease. Does anyone know if this is required by the state(Ohio) or federal govt? My bill for this test is $450 each this is monthly as doesn't make sense. Obviously this is more than the regular visit and my prescriptions.
Avatar m tn A careful nasal examination, Allergen-specific testing includes Skin testing, Serum tests for allergy, Allergen challenge and as well as Evaluation for concurrent conditions like Sinusitis and Asthma is necessary and it directs further steps for management. You need to avoid the exposure by covering nose with a cloth, whenever you are exposed to dust. It should be differentiated from vasomotor rhinitis and Atrophic rhinitis for which consult ENT specialist. Take care and regards.

Avatar n tn When I was looking into possible solutions to my own situation, I had several phone conversations with staff at the Aniseikonia Service at the Ohio State University College of Optometry. They are experts on the subject of iseikonic glasses and might be able to answer your questions. (I think that "slab-off" relates to a prism effect rather than image size, but I'm not an expert in optics.) In theory, a yag will not affect your prescription.
