Common Questions and Answers about Allergy testing nz

allergies

Avatar m tn The only thing I can think of is allergy. It is spring and there are starting to be a lot of pollen around. NZ is particularly bad for hayfever I believe. The other thing could be the clothes you are wearing. Wool is notorious for causing allergies. I get welts from sweating no matter what I'm wearing but find if I wipe down afterwards with a cool cloth things are much better. You might need to take an anti-hystamine (claratyne is brilliant) until hayfever season is over.
Avatar n tn My pediatrician wants me to take my son for allergy testing, but his only symptom is coughing. He has no other symptoms, has had a chest and sinus X-ray, which were normal. He has had antibiotics and steroids. The cough has not gone away. Not sure why he thinks it is an allergy... Please advise. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Allergy testing in children is not terribly reliable, my son's doctor says. She says they can come up as sensitive to something that in real life they don't actually react to, and not show as sensitive to something that the parents know from observation that they are allergic to. She says it is better to just observe carefully, and test by experimenting with one food at a time.
Avatar f tn Just thought I would let you all know for future reference if there are any sufferers in NZ, that I saw Dr Andrew Law yesterday, and found him to be excellent in every way. He has a good understanding of Chiari, Syrinx, Spina Bifida, amongst other things and was very helpful to me. He's very experienced (I did some homework!) and a really down to earth guy who takes a patient seriously.
Avatar m tn Here in Australia it is spring time and the pollen count is through the roof. As a result I am suffering from hayfever/asthma and typically do each year from 20 October to 20 November and pretty much to those dates. At 34/63 weeks on tx it certainly is adding an extra dimension to my sx's but still upright. I have found it necessary to take 180mg of 'fexofenadine hydrochloride' an anti-hystermine I guess.

Avatar f tn Where can I get the titanium allergy testing to see if I am sensitive to the hardware in my neck? I believe it is called the Melisa test and it is a blood test. Does anyone know where I can get this done?
Avatar f tn is generally used as the control for intradermal testing). After the testing I was told I showed no allergies, but to still use caution. As a result, I haven't eaten any nuts & am pretty much petrified that they could appear in any foods I eat. This morning I went in for a food challenge w/ walnuts, since that seems to be what caused the initial reaction. They did this by first having me eat a small piece of walnut (about 1/4 of a walnut).

136956 tn?1688675680 I am just curious if any of you have done Vega testing and what your thoughts are. I usually dont go to holistic doctors but I have been chronically ill for 20yrs. So I thought, well lets just go see what she says. She is reputable and I know many who have gone to her. I have read that there is no scientific evidence and that it is only 70-80% accurate She said that Wheat, Spelt and Dairy allergy plus candida in both the small and large bowel.

Avatar m tn A careful nasal examination, Allergen-specific testing includes Skin testing, Serum tests for allergy, Allergen challenge and as well as Evaluation for concurrent conditions like Sinusitis and Asthma is necessary and it directs further steps for management. You need to avoid the exposure by covering nose with a cloth, whenever you are exposed to dust. It should be differentiated from vasomotor rhinitis and Atrophic rhinitis for which consult ENT specialist. Take care and regards.

There was no kissing at all with the girl. Then I left the place. After that I have been fearing to get some STD's like HIV, Chlamydia etc from that single encounter. Please help me regarding this. . . . I am quite worried these days . . .

Avatar f tn In fact, I was the first G3a non-responder to start the trial worldwide, by virtue of the sun rising here in NZ first! Anyway, on my screening day, which was my also my first appointment, they took bloods for a CBC analysis, LFTs and for a viral load and genotype confirmation. I also did a urinalysis sample as they were testing for creatanine (monitors renal function), amongst other things, as that was one of the big inclusion/exclusion factors for my trial.
Avatar m tn Allergy blood testing requires only one needle stick (unlike skin testing). This may be more attractive for people who are afraid of needles. Allergy blood testing is the preferred test for infants and very young children However..... Disadvantages of allergy blood tests include: 1. More expensive than skin testing. Many health insurers do not cover allergy blood tests. 2. May be less sensitive than skin tests. 3.
1249990 tn?1269455940 Maybe, but there has to be an easier way to get metal testing. I received a list of clinics from the State Dental School, so I'm going to start calling the clinics in my area. If they don't do testing, maybe they will know who around here does. Thanks!
