Avatar n tn I want to understand IgE numbers better...(I did read the link to the Wikipedia information on IgE and it was somewhat helpful but didn't address the questions I have below...) I was diagnosed with a wheat allergy 2 years ago and the IgE level was 1.56. About 1 1/2 years ago I had it checked again and it was 1.72. I went in last week and it was 1.27. Are these numbers indicative of a mild allergy? I don't have the scale which shows what the numbers mean. Do IgE numbers fluctuate?
Avatar n tn My pediatrician wants me to take my son for allergy testing, but his only symptom is coughing. He has no other symptoms, has had a chest and sinus X-ray, which were normal. He has had antibiotics and steroids. The cough has not gone away. Not sure why he thinks it is an allergy... Please advise. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Allergy testing in children is not terribly reliable, my son's doctor says. She says they can come up as sensitive to something that in real life they don't actually react to, and not show as sensitive to something that the parents know from observation that they are allergic to. She says it is better to just observe carefully, and test by experimenting with one food at a time.
Avatar n tn m allergic to cats and dust mites. After allergy testing when I found out it was my two cats and not the grass I thought I was reacting too, both cats got daily brushing, weekly water baths and weekly rub down with a product to get rid of the dander proteins. If I tried to push their baths by a couple of days I would pay with sneezing, chest tightness, red swollen eyes etc. My one cat I realized, was making me red and itchy everytime I petted her.
Avatar n tn Hi, what are your numbers after eating? Ideally, your 2 hours posting eating will be < 120, and never more than 140. For your information, people without diabetes or risk of diabetes will typically have post eating blood sugar numbers in the 80 - 95 range.
Avatar n tn I have just received old results of my daughters allergy testing. The first column labeled "*****" has various "2+" , "1+" "4+'s" : the second column is unlabeled but has check marks in it: the third column is labeled "ID" and aligned with the checks in the previous column there is either "0" , or "9x9/30x30" next to cladosporium and cat, or "6x6/9x9" next to dog. What do these last 2 fraction numbers mean?
Avatar n tn That way the allergens can be identified and you can get allergy shots to cut down on your lung problems as well. I take it they did methacholine challenge testing on you as well along with your lung function tests? Here is another way to monitor your airways, do peak flow tests daily to see where you are sitting as far as your numbers go. Check them before exercise, after exercise...see if there is a reduction in numbers. Peak flow monitors are relatively cheap and portable.
Avatar f tn Where can I get the titanium allergy testing to see if I am sensitive to the hardware in my neck? I believe it is called the Melisa test and it is a blood test. Does anyone know where I can get this done?
Avatar f tn is generally used as the control for intradermal testing). After the testing I was told I showed no allergies, but to still use caution. As a result, I haven't eaten any nuts & am pretty much petrified that they could appear in any foods I eat. This morning I went in for a food challenge w/ walnuts, since that seems to be what caused the initial reaction. They did this by first having me eat a small piece of walnut (about 1/4 of a walnut).
Avatar n tn As I understand it an echo looks at the structure of the heart/valves and dynamics of wall movement and blood flow through the heart while a nuclear stress test monitors the electrical activity and blood flow within the heart muscle itself. Two complementary tests each with its own set of values..... As patients we tend to see more in these reports than there actually is...
Avatar n tn ve done to determine which could be the trigger to this allergy. If allergen is not known, patch testing is recommended. Miliaria or sweat rash, on the other hand, is a skin disease marked by small and itchy rashes which is common in hot and humid conditions. It occurs when the sweat gland ducts get plugged due to dead skin cells or bacteria. The trapped sweat leads to irritation, itching and to a rash of very small blisters, usually in a localized area of the skin.
136956 tn?1688675680 I am just curious if any of you have done Vega testing and what your thoughts are. I usually dont go to holistic doctors but I have been chronically ill for 20yrs. I have read that there is no scientific evidence and that it is only 70-80% accurate She said that Wheat, Spelt and Dairy allergy plus candida in both the small and large bowel.
Avatar m tn A careful nasal examination, Allergen-specific testing includes Skin testing, Serum tests for allergy, Allergen challenge and as well as Evaluation for concurrent conditions like Sinusitis and Asthma is necessary and it directs further steps for management. Avatar f tn My doctore told me that she cannot specifically tell me that I have herpes because my numbers are so low; therefore, she wants to retest me in 2 months. She further stated that my blood work displays that I was expose to virus but the test is indetermine. I then asked her does my three autoimmune diseases (ulcerative colitis, raynaud syndrom, and systematic lupus) could have affected my blood work and she stated possible.
