Common Questions and Answers about Allergy research vitamin k

allergies

Avatar m tn Vitamin K is an essential vitamin but too much can be toxic to the liver. Vitamin K2 has shown more benefits to the liver, particularly in the area of fibrosis, also known as MK7, you can read more about it on the life extention web site. I think the verdict is out on whether this is a good thing or not for liver patients, and especially while on tx the risks may outweigh the benfit..
Avatar f tn Hello and hope you are doing well. It's unlikely that you are having vitamin D allergy as you are getting this from other sources. Vitamins A, D, E & K are fat soluble and can cause hypervitaminosis, but unlikely in your case as you have a deficiency. Also, in case of doubt the blood levels of vitamin D can be checked. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I think those who are opposed to a vitamin K shot for baby should do more research. Vitamin K can prevent a bleeding disorder, not blood clotting. Vitamin K aids in the ability of blood to clot, which is why it is given to newborns as a preventative measure. A lactation consultant friend sent me a link to an article, which includes statistics, about this very debate. http://evidencebasedbirth.
Avatar f tn Just got an email from the np that said she had talked to the doctor and wants to put me on Vitamin k 10 mg daily. I gave her the pharmacy number and asked her to send me the lab results. Still waiting to hear back. Have any of you had to do this before? What is the Vitamin k used for? Thanks!
Avatar f tn If you are afraid of not having enough, you can explore taking vitamin K supplements yourself. Vitamins are better absorbed through food though, for Vit K try eating salads, broccoli, and cauliflower. There may be more, but those are the ones that come to mind off of the top of my head. There is evidence that cutting the cord too soon leads to more problems, such as bleeding on the brain and in the lungs than babies not given the vitamin K shot.
Avatar f tn 1.Allergy Antidotes, 2. NAET (Dr. Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques) I use the first one with great results. No drugs, safe and efficient. Seek Practitioners/Doctors trained in this field in your area. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn There is research that items like dermatitis might be the lack of Vitamin K2 or K in your body as well. I would check K, D ,Calcium, and Magnesium levels or get a Dr to do it. Also, with scalp dermatitis it can be caused by dandruff Dandruff is caused by 3 types of fungus, so if you only use one type of shampoo it will never go away. I think using Cesium Blue, Head and shoulder and another... check the active ingredients on the back.
535822 tn?1443976780 Be careful with taking too much vitamin K -- it's a blood clotting agent. Just need the right amount, not too much. Too little, though, and you're in trouble. Magnesium is responsible for relaxing the heart muscle, as well as other muscles. Most Americans have been conned into taking so much calcium, especially in dairy, which is low is magnesium, and too much calcium leaches magnesium from the body. Too much magnesium leaches calcium from the body.
Avatar n tn Thank you for your response. I think you are right. This only happens when I scratch the part of the body that itches due to an allergic reaction. I have very sensitive skin that bruises very easily. I'll try to get more vitamin C, K, and B12. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Warfarin which antagonizes vitamin K increases calcification of the arteries. Vitamin K is concerned with the formation of a protein called matrix gla protein (MGP). This protein protects against arterial calcification. It is clear that vitamin K deficiency leads to reduced formation of MGP and therefore, the onset of hypertension is promoted.
Avatar f tn How do you feel about the vitamin K shot? Are you going to give it to your new born?
Avatar f tn I am. If your baby gets a cut and doesn't have the vitamin k, he/she might not have the ability to clot blood. I am also getting my son circumcised, so it's required.
Avatar n tn To get back to the original post, I was wondering if it is Ok to take vitamin K supplement. I can't seem to find the research I read that taking vitamin A and vitamin K supplements is harmful. But I'm suddenly not very sure. I'll look for it later. Would it be better to get you Vit K fill from leafy green veggies? As for Vitamin D3, I'm pretty convinced it has tremendous benefits, just not yet "proven" or published.
Avatar f tn so, if could be inflammation from a vitamin deficiency. Like vitamin K or D etc. Gluten allergy or Fibromyalgia . There is also items like conditions that keep a person from processing vitamin D by way of the sun. Have you ever had a tan. Ever had a allergy test.
Avatar f tn I am too allergic to iodine and have been diagnosed with Graves 13 years ago (untreated). I'm pretty sure mine has turned hypo because of it but can't find a doctor to listen. I just made the connection between the thyroid and iodine allergy by my own research and I'm interested to know if you ever found anything that helps.
Avatar f tn The vitamin K **** is extremely important. Babies die from brain bleeds due to not getting a simple vit K shot.
Avatar m tn Vitamin E might worsen clotting problems in people whose levels of vitamin K are too low. An eye condition called retinitis pigmentosa: All-rac-alpha-tocopherol (synthetic vitamin E) 400 IU seems to speed vision loss in people with retinitis pigmentosa. However, much lower amounts (3 IU) do not seem to produce this effect. If you have this condition, it is best to avoid vitamin E. Bleeding disorders: Vitamin E might make bleeding disorders worse.
Avatar f tn ve never had allergies (other than an apparent dust allergy I developed not too long ago, as I have sneezing fits when I dust), but starting last week, I began to feel absolutely terrible. A lot of people I know with allergies are miserable right now too, but their symptoms seem different. The best description I can give of mine is: - it feels as though the lower front part of my brain is on fire.
Avatar n tn t seem to find any specific research or other information that gives me a specific amount or what exactly I should be taking to promote soft skin. Every place seems to have their own version of what should be taken and many don't have a specific amount. I don't know if there has been research regarding this but I'm guessing there is and I just can't seem to find it.
Avatar f tn Tingly feet, legs and hands, unbalanced and lightheaded and have passed out a few times. Now, with my new bloodwork my Vitamin K is elevated at 1453. I have no idea what this means. Am I not processing vitamins correctly in my body because of the MTHFR gene mutation. My doctors don't seem to have an answer for me.
