Avatar n tn The plan is to find another service and use our own vacuum if we have to. This experience has really showed me what allergy sufferers go through on a daily basis.
Avatar f tn Hello Natachu, Welcome to the allergy forum. I see you joined Med help recently. Just wondering if a doctor or allergist has confirmed the hay fever diagnosis or did you come up with this. The reason I say it this way is this. Have you ever been to see an allergist ? Based on your comments, you are having really severe what appear to be allergic reactions i.e. blurry vision, inner lip swelled, coughing and difficulty breathing.
Avatar f tn I just read something that suggested spraying garlic juice on dogs food to eliminate fleas and ticks - just want to know if this is safe. My dog is having a terrible time with fleas and flea allergy even after a Frontline Tritek treatment. I just did her 2nd month of the Frontline Tritek and she is just miserable with the biting and itching and scratching - she's a short haired boxer/lab mix about 14 months old - any suggestions will be appreciated.
Avatar n tn But Now it started again in October with suddenly rashing. She has no food allergies per allergy tests of 100 foods, condiments and environmental. Only a very low allergy to dust mites. I changed her room to dust mite covers, sheets changed to microfiber, rugs out to hardwood a few yrs ago, no curtains, etc. i use a vacuum with hepa filter. I have her on Zyrtec now and have a steroid cream from dermatologist. If not left on Zyrtec, I notice rashing still.
Avatar n tn I don't think it matters, honestly. I think whatever is easier and allows you to actually DO it is best. I have an allergy cover on my mattress, too. I've never vacuumed my mattress for dust mites, just always covered it. Since you haven't covered it, I'd go with auntiejess's suggestion, and just vacuum it, then cover it. That's more economical than buying a new vacuum, I'd think.
Avatar f tn Morning Everyone, Lately, I become increasingly sick whenever I eat any dairy products. I have been on this new "Paleo Diet" which requires me to ONLY eat protein. Maybe this has something to do with it?
1152061 tn?1262040956 Sore throats can mean many things. Your post is so incredibly basic for a post to allergy forum, that you probably believe you have allergies, and you may very well have them. Only way to know is to get the tests.
Avatar m tn Dog allergies are very common and due to saliva of the dog. “Allergy to dogs is relatively common, as dog allergen can be found in public places, including daycare facilities.” “For people with dog allergy, avoidance of dogs is the mainstay of therapy. Allergy medications are likely to help control symptoms, but in many instances symptoms may persist if the person owns one or more indoor dogs. Allergy shots may also be a good treatment option for people who are allergic to their pet dogs.

Avatar n tn Hi, ItchyM could be right about you being allergic to any of the products you are using. try stopping the products and also using products approved by your skin specialist or dermatologist. Have you started using any new products recently or changed any of the products you were using otherwise? How are you doing now? Is there any improvement in your symptoms? have you been to see an allergy specialist yet? Let us know if you have any doubts. Regards.
Avatar m tn Hello, You have already taken allergy shots for your allergies.Along with these allergy shots, you can have some environmental modifications which will help you inkeeping allergy at bay. . Maintain/clean dehumidifiers and air conditioners regularly. Air filters of the ac trap allergens, like molds, dust and pollen. When the filters do not work properly, allergens may be released into the air, causing typical allergy symptoms, such as watery eyes, runny nose, and wheezing.

Avatar m tn I had a few allergy tests and all negative for dog allergy but positive for pollen and mold allergy. I have a 100 pound poodle with 1/4 inch fur. (shaved) The dog has a smell that only I can smell. It is a dog smell. Triggers asthma, burning - dry eyes, throat gets sore and sticky. He goes out side 5 times a day for walks. Is that enough to collect enough pollen to do this to me after 3 days? Bathing the dog every Mon, Wed, Fri is getting too much.
Avatar f tn I have taken him to the vet and he has had antibiotics steroids and has tryed Claratin,Zyrtec,Benadrill allergy meds and still sneezes etc. He is eating and at times drinks more water than usual. The vet says I can try x-rays. And I am considering allergy tests all of these things are spendy and I am feeling confused as to what to do. I am afraid of spending almost 300.00 for allergy tests when he is a indoor dog and if he is allergic to dust I can get a air purifyer for alot less.
Avatar f tn I was fine until this last week or so when my brother was moving out of the basement so mountains of dust and **** were everywhere (when we finally got enough out to vacuum, we had to stop and empty the vacuum canister twice because it was so full!). So even though I have been using my inhaler a bit for chest tightness that comes on faster than normal, my peak flow readings have been amazing.
Avatar f tn I have NEVER had an issue with dairy products. However through my pregnancy I feel as though I'm almost developing a mild intolerance to it. It wasnt bad in the beginning, but now at 37 weeks any time I take in dairy it upsets my stomach. Kinda makes me afraid that my little one may also have an allergy to dairy then since I plan to breast feed. Any one else ever encounter this??
Avatar f tn Go to a kenisiologist/MD and get rid of your allergy. I got rid of lots of allergies that way - much more efficient and light-years faster than going to an allergist.
Avatar n tn -200 hours after I drink it. Well I did the allergy test and it had about 10 things I am allergic. Not dairy. One thing is geotrichum. I looked it up and it said it was found in dairy products ect... I am moderately allergic to it. Does this have anything to do with me feeling sick when I drink milk and sometimes when I eat cheese on stuff?

Keep pets out of the bedroom and avoid using carpeting, draperies and upholstered furniture in your home since allergens will collect there. Also wash and brush your pet each week. If your boyfriend is still allergic to cats then he can go in for allergy shotsImmunotherapy gradually make a person more and more resistant to the cat allergens.
203342 tn?1328737207 I say that in all seriousness. My allergies have gotten worse and worse, especially this last year. I've had sinus pain and headaches almost daily. I've gone to the doctor several times for antibiotics for sinus infections but then they wondered if I was having tension headaches. All I know is it's miserable and almost daily. I'm taking allergy medicine and/or a pain reliever for the headaches almost daily. I really don't know what else to do.
Avatar f tn Also since you have allergies, make sure that you vacuum your bedroom regularly and dust there too. I have allergies too and an allergy to dust so we make sure to vacuum our bedroom often and dust. Also make sure your mattress has a protector as well. If you have old worn out pillows, throw them out and buy new ones. I hope my suggestions have been helpful.
17727171 tn?1459515686 Tiny black jumping bugs sound exactly like fleas. As Margot explained, take a comb and back-comb the hair so that you can see down to the skin to see if there is flea dirt present on your dog. The places flea dirt most commonly collects is in the tail, at the base of the neck, on the shoulders where they slope down toward the chest and on the backs of the legs (like between where their butt cheeks would be).
