Avatar f tn as well as afrin and a couple of allergy medicines (not all allergy medicines though)...every pregnancy is different though and every Dr is different as to what they prefer so I would definitely call.

I usually take 10mg of generic Claritin once a day and I'm fine (about 4years now) but yesterday I broke out in Hives and the claritin hasnt helped. I took 20mg last night and 20mg this morning. 1754037 tn?1327886811 What kind of allergy medicIne can a pregnant person take when sick? I already took Tylenol for my fever. I have running nose & keep sneezing! Ugh!!! Pls. help me! I feel so miserable! I am 34 weeks pregnant & my baby shower is tommorow! I want to feel semi better by then!
Avatar f tn You should NEVER give a prescription medication to someone for whom it hasn't been prescribed. It not only could be dangerous (say, suppose they have an allergy to it that they/you are not aware of), but it's also illegal to give someone a medication that has not been prescribed for them. I would think the 4 advil would be ok for him, based on his weight, however, I would make sure he took them with food, as they can be very hard on the stomach.
Avatar f tn If it's allergy related you can take Claritin... Or however it is spelled. If it's cold related really you can only take Tylenol cold and flu. Web MD has a list... Here is the link http://www.m.webmd.com/baby/guide/taking-medicine-during-pregnancy?
Avatar n tn Which brands of these beverages have you been drinking? It could be other ingredients that you're allergic to. Consult a doctor, and they'll test you for the various things in them, and hopefully give you medication to prevent it from happening again.
Avatar m tn Has anybody experience these little itchy rashes? And is allergy medicine like Benadryl or zertac safe with having hbv? Dr on vacation for next three weeks.
Avatar n tn You can find out whether you are allergic to mint or any other ingredient by getting allergy testing done. Skin tests are used for this purpose. This test involves pricking, scratching or injecting food extracts into the patient’s skin. The skin will react with redness and swelling for those extracts capable of eliciting an allergic reaction when consumed.Other tests used are blood tests like RAST and food challenge tests. Treatment is complete avoidance of the offending agent.
Avatar f tn Had bad sinus pressure 2 weeks ago.. took some walgreens sinus medicine..now I have a bad rash on my chest, stomach and back.. I figure it came from the sinus medicine.. also have diabetes. Tryin to see what I should take...
696149 tn?1314320959 m bi-polar and I took these meds at the time. Wellbutrin, Lamictal, Lunesta, Unisom and Zyzal (for allergies). I went off all meds for a week and nothing changed. So I switched the meds that I thought might cause it, even though I didn't notice any change while off. I'm wondering if I need more time off the drugs like two weeks. I've stopped all meds now to test that theory.
4244557 tn?1371701336 for allergies she had 2 different shots listed and an over the counter medicine. I myself suffer from seasonal allergies and so does my friend who is due the end of July. I had told her that we could take the over the counter meds and she told me that we couldn't because allergy meds dry up the amniotic fluid. is that true or is it safe to take the medicine.
Avatar f tn at first i took claritin for my allergy then i had emergen-c drink (vitamin c) but both didnt work so i had to take tylenol then changed it to sudafed and a nasal spray. it took me 2 weeks to feel better. but of course i consulted my OB bout the medications that i can take.
Avatar f tn You'll find a lot of conflicting info on the internet about medicines to take while pregnant. I've used the website safe fetus . com to look up the drug classifications of medicines. If her OB and PCP are okaying this medicine, then it's okay for her to be taking it. All OB's vary on what they allow, but if they say it's okay, then I would continue to use it.
2022859 tn?1342283129 I had the same problem as you. Im allergic to grass which means summer lawn mowing makes me miserable! I bugged my midwife incessantly and she precribed me a generic allergy medicine (its the same as claritin) she also gave me a nasal spray because i was complaining so much lol. Thankfully my allergies have died down but when they get really bad i take my allergy medicine.
Avatar n tn In a nut shell it sounds like hay fever. You may just need to take allergy medicine daily, but I'm not a doctor so you might want to talk to your doctor for more insight and what is the best treatment.
