Avatar f tn t have experience with long qt or the medicine but might suggest getting a second opinion to be sure. Her rate is borderline high but from what I have read it is when a female goes to 480 that it becomes a concern. Other factors like unexplained fainting or seizures or a family history of long qt as well as sudden cardiac death. So why was your daughter's qt tested? I would research the medicine to know the side effects versus the benefits.
Avatar m tn These are not generally considered mainstream treatment for food allergies because there effectiveness in food allergy is doubtful, but neutralization and low dose immunotherapy has been found to have some efficacy in treating food allergies.Pls discuss this option with an allergist. Avatar f tn You should NEVER give a prescription medication to someone for whom it hasn't been prescribed. It not only could be dangerous (say, suppose they have an allergy to it that they/you are not aware of), but it's also illegal to give someone a medication that has not been prescribed for them. I would think the 4 advil would be ok for him, based on his weight, however, I would make sure he took them with food, as they can be very hard on the stomach.
Avatar f tn You could have a mold allergy and in your case with swelling of the mouth causing breathing issues, whatever is actually causing it is serious. If you can't get to a dr quickly, get some liquid Benadryl to try the next time this happens. I had some itching with pollen allergies this spring. The liquid gels worked great as a boost to my normal antihistamine for the itching. They were very portable and still and liquid for faster effectiveness. See a dr.
Avatar n tn It is possible for any pet to be allergic to any of the ingredients in pretty much anything, if allergy prone, though allergy to Chinese herbal formula's are fairly uncommon. The most common problems I have seen with Shen Calmer was increased sedation, and occasional loose stool or vomiting. The only side effect I have seen to Liver Happy is that it over cooled an already cool patient (Chinese diagnostic lingo).
Avatar m tn Ewww, that must have tasted NASTY. Aside from not working, have you had any symptoms of other issues? Bleeding, nasty smell or taste, pain, headache, nausea, vomitting? If you haven't had any other symptoms, I wouldn't worry too much. Chloraseptic isn't swallowed normally, it's just topically applied. Absorption is minimal. If you start feeling weird or gross, you can call Poison Control, and they'll be able to let you know exactly what to do. Good luck and take care!
Avatar f tn If it's allergy related you can take Claritin... Or however it is spelled. If it's cold related really you can only take Tylenol cold and flu. Web MD has a list... Here is the link http://www.m.webmd.com/baby/guide/taking-medicine-during-pregnancy?
Avatar f tn I quit 20 years ago and the chronic sinusitis never let up. I have had the classic allergy tests and gone in for shots 3x per week and that did nothing. I have gone to a dozen allergists and they have tried sprays and medicine that work for a month and assumed that I had asthma which none of the treatments work. I took a cat scan and was scheduled for turbinate surgery, but that fell through. I have been told since then that it would likely not have helped.
Avatar m tn Do any of you find your medications lose effectiveness if you are withdrawn from them for whatever reason and go back on them shortly after? Perhaps your doctor screwed up or you decided to stop taking them on your own and then changed your mind. I have had this happen in the past with a medicine and heard of it happening to people before. Is this due to building a tolerance to the said medication?
Avatar n tn Which brands of these beverages have you been drinking? It could be other ingredients that you're allergic to. Consult a doctor, and they'll test you for the various things in them, and hopefully give you medication to prevent it from happening again.
Avatar m tn You had a low risk exposure to begin with, and then you took several antibiotics in different categories. If you did have anything bacterial, you don't now. And there is no such thing as shadow of a doubt with medicine, it's reasonable doubt that's important for medicine, the same what it is with law. The only realistic risk you have now is for HSV-1. That can cause burning on urination, but rarely without obvious sores or other symptoms.
Avatar m tn Has anybody experience these little itchy rashes? And is allergy medicine like Benadryl or zertac safe with having hbv? Dr on vacation for next three weeks.
Avatar n tn You can find out whether you are allergic to mint or any other ingredient by getting allergy testing done. Skin tests are used for this purpose. This test involves pricking, scratching or injecting food extracts into the patient’s skin. The skin will react with redness and swelling for those extracts capable of eliciting an allergic reaction when consumed.Other tests used are blood tests like RAST and food challenge tests. Treatment is complete avoidance of the offending agent.
