Avatar n tn My Daisy, 2 1/2 yr old Chihuahua & Terrior mix, has had weepy/ teary eyes since birth & it causes the nastiest looking, dark brown stains in the fur under her eyes. She also gets little clumps, or what we call "eye-bugers" in hair under eyes, too. I haven't really noticed any odor or smell to it, though. I get Angel Glow or Angel Eyes powder to clear up the stains.
1420469 tn?1282372493 t relate, but it sounds like you have a dust/dust might allergy. You would probably benefit from allergy casings on ALL bedding - pillow, matress and box springs. Then wash sheets and blankets weekly in HOT water. Another good idea would be to shower just before going to bed to wash off any pollen that has collected in your hair and possibly skin. FYI - It is recommended that people with dust/dust mite allergies get a new pillow every year. Feel better.
Avatar n tn Hi forum members, Since few weeks I am noticing that I am having some sort of white discharge from my eyes (both) and some time times it is not only irritating but also has some burning feeling. It also leads to headaches often. I had shown it to one doctor who thought it was some sort of allergy, but this is lasting too long. Can any one advice please?
Avatar f tn I've used the same type of make-up and face-wash for three years. I went on a vacation to south america, and while i was there, I got sick. I continued wearing make-up and face-wash while I was sick, and ever since, my eyelids get swollen a lot. They swell whenever I use face-wash, make-up, shampoo, conditioners, or any lotions, even if not on the affected area! Even the "for sensitive skin" and hypoallergic products make my face swell.
Avatar f tn Eye drop versions of cromolyn sodium and antihistamines are available for itchy, bloodshot eyes and these can also be tried. Also maintain hygiene and avoid rubbing the eyes. You can wash your eyes with fresh water and put cool compresses over the eyes.If the symptoms persist then pls get the other medical conditions ruled out. I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
Avatar m tn When the filters do not work properly, allergens may be released into the air, causing typical allergy symptoms, such as watery eyes, runny nose, and wheezing. Wash shower curtains, bathroom tiles, and grout regularly and use a dehumidifier in your house. Also remove drapes, feather pillows, upholstered furniture, non-washable comforters and soft toys. Replace carpets with linoleum or wood. Vacuum (with HEPA filtered vacuum cleaners) soft furniture and curtains as well as floor.

Avatar f tn Discard clothes that have been washed in detergents that have a high level of chlorine, and take a wash after every swim. Chlorine allergy symptoms are generally not persistent, but its best to see a doctor to rule out any complication that prolonged exposure could cause.
Avatar f tn Thank you both so much! I have been using the eye wash kit, zyrtec and also allergy eye drops - the combination has finally started to kick in and make a difference today. I didn't even think about the dermatologist - if this doesn't clear up completely within a few more days I will definitely call for an appointment. I appreciate your advice!
Avatar m tn If you have recently changed lotion or shampoo, go back to your old kind, or if you recently used an antibiotic ointment on your body somewhere, it could have transferred over to your eyes, so thoroughly wash your hands and then rinse out your eyes, then use some PLAIN saline drops as directed for a couple days. Or if you haven't gotten enuff sleep lately, or you're overusing your eyes, then put those drops, and REST your eyes a lot more, and get enough good deep rest.
535882 tn?1396576685 , taking an antihistamine, plus eye drops. allergy, eye drops, plus doing saline nose rinse. ice pack, eyes also itch a little. any suggestion?
Avatar m tn I use contact lens saline solution in an antique eye wash cup to wash my eyes. I usually follow that with a good OTC antihistamine eye drop. I like Zaditor. You may benefit from seeing a doctor and getting a nasal steroid spray and nasal antihistamine spray. Those really help my nasal allergy symptoms. Also, there is an OTC nasal spray here called NasalCrom. It contains cromolyn which is a mast cell stabilizer. Basically it stops the allergic reaction at the source, the nose.
Avatar f tn I normally do not have allergies but this year is awful! Thought this might help some of us fellow sufferers.... Friday, April 16, 2010 8:14 AM Spring of 2010 is shaping up to be one of the worst allergy seasons in years. "We're seeing people come in who are complaining of feeling run-down and tired," Dr. Stanley Fineman of the Atlanta Allergy and Asthma Clinic told ABC News. "They're sneezing. Their eyes are itching. Some people are coughing.

Avatar n tn is this a normal allergy symptom? why does it go away after i get up for a few minutes? is there anything i can take before bed that would help for the morning?
Avatar n tn Personally I would not recommend using hydrocortisone cream near your eyes. The skin around the eyes is already thin and hydrocortisone creams thin the skin so care needs to be taken when using this type of cream. It appears that you may have an allergic reaction to something. I would suggest you see your doctor for a correct diagnosis and for him to prescribe the appropriate medication for you. In the meantime do not use any make ups or eye make up.

Avatar n tn For the past couple months I've noticed that my eyelids have been unusually dry and itchy - Now they are constantly peeling (both the upper and lower lid) and still very itchy and super red (it looks like I've been slugged in the eyes). I read online that I should do a warm compress and then scrub the skin with baby wash and then use aveeno, but that hasn't been working at all - I'm so embarrassed by it, I don't like going out..
1823918 tn?1317422435 Tried putting cortisone cream but that only burned eyes also watery and feels dry at times. Eye dr said my eyes were fine and that I had an allergic reaction to something. I have not changed anything or tried anything new. The only know allergy I have is penicillin. I am at my wits end, I have search the internet but have found no answers. Please help me!!!
Avatar n tn Been since October. We live northeast. Mostly at times on her cheeks or under her eyes or around eyes, but its mostly under her mouth or sides of mouth. No bumps or pimples or anything like that. Just rashing. Over her lip it always bothers her (maybe burns). and I dont see a rash there. She wants me to apply aquaphor on lips and above upper lip alot. Dermatologist said okay to use that. She has Autism and can't communicate well or speak so I dont know what to do.
Avatar n tn I have to wash my dog every 3-4 days. If not I get asthma. You can get allergy shots from an allergist. They can help. My allergy shots are doing wonders. I just changed doctors and the doctor has tried a new brand of serum that seems to be a little different from my old one. The new one didn't work for dog but with the old brand name did. So it might depend on the dog breed and brand of serum for allergy shots. But getting tested for dog allergy could be your answer too.
Avatar m tn Some infections can develop from an original allergy, and maybe your nasal cavities are getting infected from all the mucous that develops from the allergy, and thus not only the dark swollen eyes and itching, but you've also got those neck lymph nodes swelling up from the infection.
Avatar f tn My patch test was negative but I have read that it may take up to 72 hours to react not 48. The day after dying my hair, my eyes were red. itchy and swollen. That subsided. But in the meantime, I am in real misery.
Avatar n tn If it comes and goes quickly that is more likely an allergy since its only one side one would think of a contact allergy (not contactlens) but something your skin comes in contact with. I suggest you see an Eye MD ophthalmologist that specializes in cornea/external disease. Find one at www.aao.org Take some pictures (the one you posted is out of focus) of the swelling and take them with you to the MD especially if it looks okay at the time of the appointment.
Avatar f tn I was out in the high heat and perspiration was dripping and nose was running. My eyes got blurry and now are closed and swollen? .
Avatar n tn My lids (all or part of them) will swell, they will get red patches on them, they itch, they get scaley, they burn, under my eyes will swell, and my eyes will continuously water. This eventually clears up but always comes back. Nothing I try helps-eyes drops, nose sprays, antihistimines. Several months ago I went to my doctor and was given creams that did not help, an antibiotic that did not help and eventually a predinisone prescription taken by mouth cleared it up.
Avatar f tn The allergy reduced considerbly, however, the skin around my eyes has become quite dark. It makes my eyes look worn out and dull. The colour of my eyelids is uneven with certain areas darker than the other. Is there anything i can do about it? Please help me out.
