Avatar f tn For the last week my eyes have been swollen both top and bottom when i wake up, but through out the day it goes down a bit and then occurs again when i wake up in the morning. i was wondering what could be going on ?
Avatar f tn That is usually an allergy.
Avatar f tn Hi, welcome to the forum, swollen eye indicates allergic conjunctivitis or angioedema. You have a positive history of allergy. This can be complicated by bacterial or viral infection. Also swollen eyelids or face, esp. in early morning, are sign of kidney disorder. The renal disease (kidney) like nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis, and renal failure can cause such symptoms. You need to undergo urine analysis, renal function tests and radio imaging of the kidneys to rule out the cause.
Avatar f tn I am also having allergy-like nasal problems. This morning, my eyes were almost swollen shut. Could I be allergic to this drug? All I was warned about by my psychiatrist was a severe rash.
Avatar f tn After about 10 minutes it spread to the other side of her face and under her eyes. Now, the rednedd around her face had subsided a little but now her under her eyes are so red that they look purple. THeyare not ithching swollen or tearing any more than usual. A friend of mine said that she look like a zombie. Any one know anything about this.
Avatar n tn my son just took cephalexin. He now has swollen eyes and lots of redness. Is this an allergy? Now what?
Avatar n tn They also get really itchy, but i use allergy eye drops to help that. However, my eyes still continue to get swollen and dry. I am currently taking Allegra-D and Singulair for my allergies. My doctor had prescribed me to Pata-a-Day Eye Drops as well, but they became too expensive and weren't working very well, so i switch to an over the counter brand. My medicine is obviously not working very great either. Does anyone know of an effective treatment that will help me with this? Thanks.
Avatar n tn I have suffered with allergies for about 15 years, mostly occasional sneezing and itchy skin when in contact with some cats. The main problem is a blocked up nose, I have had allergy testing which confirm allergies to cats, dogs and rabbits, and a mild allergy to pollen. I have also have asthma which is under control. I have used various anti-histimines and nasal steroid sprays with some success.
Avatar f tn Before I went to bed last night my eyes were really red and when I woke up this morning my eyes were swollen on the top and bottom. What are some ways to make the swelling go down. I went to a heath center today and they gave me some Medicine and it is working but my eyes are still swollen. Avatar f tn I recently started having significant under eye swelling. I've had "bags" under my eyes before, but this is different. It's more like fluid filled "sacs". My nose also looks swollen. This will reduce slightly as the day progresses, but not completely. My allergies are under control, so I am concerned. The swelling seems to blur my vision slightly and my eyes have been watering more despite having my allergies under control.
Avatar n tn I woke up today and I could barely open my eyes. My eyelids are very swollen...almost swollen shut and my eyelids are itchy and scaly. I took allergy medicine but nothing seems to help. What could this be from and how do I remedy it?
Avatar m tn Some infections can develop from an original allergy, and maybe your nasal cavities are getting infected from all the mucous that develops from the allergy, and thus not only the dark swollen eyes and itching, but you've also got those neck lymph nodes swelling up from the infection.
Avatar n tn I have a recurring condition that affects both of my eyes (more the right than the left). It begins with a burning sensation, then I awake in the morning with swollen, itchy eyes that are red on my eyelids and below my eyes almost to my cheek bones. I am left with scaley, sagging skin above and below my eyes, and bags of fluid that collect under my eyes right above my cheek bones. My skin responds as though it has been burned by crusting over and collecting fluid.
Avatar f tn s spring and I have a dog and a cat) so my eyes have been swollen for a majority of the last 6 weeks. Antihistimanes don't really work all that effectively, only solving the problem for an hour or two, and ive tried zyrtec, benadryl, XYZAL (oral solution), and cloderm (1% cream). Could my derm be right? Could that cause this? Is there a name for that? What else could be the problem and what could fix it? This has been going on for over 3 months and Im desperate for an answer!
Avatar f tn My left eye is very swollen and it appears to be a blocked tear duck, However I have been to see two Opthamologist, eye doctor, and Allergy doctor, and General Medicine doctor. No one has been able to figure this one out. It is at its worse i the Morning when I wake up. The eye lid is full of fluid, which looks like my tears . It drains slowly throughout the day and fills back up over night. I've taken antibiotics, Steroid drops, ointments . Nothing has worked.
Avatar m tn Usually I used to get red eyes, sneezing, runny nose and swollen eyes most of the times after drinking beer, Though Sleeman is my favourite (may be due to classical bottle style and color), but I like to try new beers from different countries (especially cans). I drank Holsten 3-4 years ago nothing happened but this time I got red face like red pepper, red eyes, rashes on forehead, below front of neck, knees and red palms with little nervousness but no itches.
Avatar f tn My son has had sore eyes for around 6 months now which were making him blink incessantly and he complained that they were itchy. The outside scorners of his eyes are sore, particularly the inside which is a little swollen. There is no crusting. I took him to an optician before Christmas who said that his glands were blocked and he suggested warm compresses on the eyes for 15 mins a day, but to go to the doctor if it didn't improve after 4 weeks. So I went to the doctor after 4 weeks .
Avatar m tn Each time, I complete course of antibiotics, I begin sneezing up a storm !! My eyes feel horrible, swollen, pressure, ithcy, etc.... Opthomology did a very in depth exam of my eyes twice, could not find anything abnormal. Since last year, I've tried Zyrtec, Claritin, Allegra, and now Xyzal. No allergy meds works, I still sneeze up a storm. All my troubles began after allergy shots. Any feedback appreciated.

Avatar n tn This has happen to me several times during the last five years. Beside the swollen eyes, I get a bad headache with it. Went to the eye doctor and he couldn't tell me what was the cause of it, that he can only think that it was allergy. As the day goes by, the swollen and the headache goes away. Yesterday, I had a swollen eye after taken Motrin, and it got me to think if that can really be the cause of my swollen.
