Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed, by a consultant allergy specialist within the UK, as having severe allergy to the allium family. My syptoms are mainly neurological and respiratory but I have noticed that this last anaphylactic episode has left me with GI symptoms as well. I am inhaltion sensitive making management of this allergy difficult. I carry 4 epipens, anti histamine and steroids at all times. I also take Fexofenadine and Montelukast tablets daily.
Avatar m tn Thank you both. I did ask ILADS but they say they don't give recommendations. It's personal recommendation and patient experiences I am looking for. Yes, I'm in the UK but it appears that some UK patients are travelling to the USA if they can afford to as the treatment is superior to anything on offer in the UK or even Europe.
Avatar n tn Well, if you find that your tongue is sensitive to these fruits, then it could be due to the pollen in them. Kiwi allergy is due to the birch pollen allergy. Orange allergy is also due to the allergy to orange rind. The only thing that can help you is avoid these food items. Is it that you are sensitive to fresh fruits or are you sensitive to food ingredients too as in sauces, jams , juices etc. “As mentioned, the Birch pollen-Apple oral Allergy Syndrome is commonly seen in the UK.
Avatar f tn I have been trying to post in the titanium dental implant allergy section but failed last time. I have several implants in my upper jaw which I am desperate to have removed as I have felt unwell for over 8 years since having them placed. I live in the uk and would like to find someone in the London area who could help me. I cannot believe i did this to myself and so wish I still had a denture.
Avatar f tn I have a constant pain in the back of my head-neck and numbness and pins and needles in my hands. I would like to see a doctor that specialises in this condition can anyone help.
Avatar f tn I've been getting allergic symptoms (runny nose, blocked sinuses, sneezing, itching eyes) on and off the past few years. I get it during spring, but I'm also getting symptoms at this time of year (I'm in the UK). I've noticed it's worse at my parents house, so it's unlikely to be dust (they dust more than me!) or their cat since I also have a cat. Any ideas?
5919779 tn?1402699972 Some people do have a bad reaction to the flu shot, it is usually those people who have an allergy to eggs. Before you are offered a flu shot, the medic doing it will ask if you have a cold or feeling unwell and whether you have an allergy to eggs. If so, you would not be given the shot at that time until you are well. In the case of an allergy to eggs, you would not be given the shot at all.
Avatar f tn I am 17 weeks today and I have a rash on both my legs it's bumpy and really itchy unfortunately I can't get to my doctor until tomorrow(in UK time here) has anyone else had this before or going through it too?

Avatar m tn Doxycycline was prescribed by a NHS doctor in UK after having a blood and skin scratch test. He did not check if i am allergic to anything but only if there is any fungus, virus etc (i guess). The tests did not show any problem at all but he told me if doxycline helps there is not problem using it (my understanding was that it is not a harmful antibiotic especially when there are not any side effects).
Avatar f tn I was just wondering if any one is from the UK on this app?
Avatar f tn I get itchy watery, puffy eyes.I sneeze a lot. The doctor says its allergies and noticed that in the upper parts of my nose i am swollen. I also have been having some dry cracked skin on my upper lip and am not sure if this may be part of the allergy, but its there. does anyone here have the same thing or know what it is for sure. doc says its allergic rhinitis, but i thought that it should have stopped by now.
Avatar f tn You may be allergic to pet dander. Only an allergy test would confirm that. There are also allergy shots you can get from your doctor should you be allergic to certain things. Anyway, I hope something I've shared with you , may be helpful for you. I am , of course, not a doctor so this isn't professional medical advice. Wish you the best.

Avatar m tn what do you do when you find out that you are metal allergic to all 11 coronary stents installed? Stents aren't like hips and knees. Those can be removed if allergic to them. but not stents. Metal allergy to metal implants is nothing new. It's well documented. So why no procedure for stent removal. Not to bright. shouldn't there be formal metal allergy testing before this one product (that can't be removed) is installed?

194555 tn?1264286923 Like a tingling feeling, no pain, just so annoying! She said it could be an allergy and to try an over the counter allergy med, but what scares me is it could be something more? She was not interested in testing me for any difficincies (sp), Nor was she interested in giving me anotbiotics for boils. (just a referel to a dermotologist).. Anyway, i will try her advice about an allergy med, BUT i am sensitive to palpitations, and worried they may make them worse, can anyone recomend one?
Avatar n tn So almost 2 weeks ago now, I woke up with my right upper eyelid (only) so swollen that my eyebrow looked like I just had an overdone face lift on one side of my face. I tried putting cold compress on it, no change, as the day progressed swelling decreased, but not completely. Next day same thing, took some Actifed and rested for a few hours. This seemed to make the swelling go down quite a bit.
Avatar n tn In the Uk they advise not to,Personally i have avoided them in all my pregnancys as they say if you have a family history of asthma or exma you should avoid them,my husband has very bad asthma abd anything that i can do to prevent my children from having them is worth a try.....although most the stuff they tell you to avoid i think is rubbish because back in the day when my mum had me you could eat anything.
Avatar f tn You need to speak to the doctor who prescribed the medication. What is GAD? Dr. O.
Avatar n tn Hi,doctor. I come from china and working in the UK, 38 days ago, I went back to China for a holiday. I had a sex with a prostitute. I remember that we had a deep kiss and oral sex between each other without condomn. That means my tongue touched her vaginal fluid. And her gum secretion touched my penis. I remember I had a little gum disease at that moment. Then We got vaginal sex with condomn. And the condomn seems been intact. About two days later, I feel my UNCIRCUMCISED penis was itched.
Avatar f tn I would think to start with you see your normal doctor who will make a referral to a fertility specialist.who will run test on you and your partner.but that is in the uk,im not sure if its different for you,but your doctor will certainly point you in the right way.
