Avatar n tn I had been diagnosed with Prostatitis some time ago and antibiotics and diet change has not helped it to go away, is it possible that I am allergic to my own semen? Would that have similar symptoms to prostatitis? if so is there any way to cure it?
Avatar f tn Hi, We just discovered our 8 week old has a milk allergy including soy. We are giving him Allimentum as his new formula but I'm torn about breastfeeding anymore. I wanted to breastfeed for the antibodies but now I wonder. 1. he got severe RSV at 6 weeks old and stayed in the hospital 6 days. 2. now this allergy. For me it makes me wonder what is the benefit of breastmilk and the antibodies if these things happened? Now with the milk allergy, I LOVE dairy.
Avatar n tn My wife has serious allergy problem, now it is effecting her eyes also. I dont know which topic was right to select from above hence done randomly.
Avatar m tn Also I read today that this kind of allergy might cause an intestianal damage, so if I started a wheat free diet is that damage is recoverable (reversable) or I have to take treatment ?? Thanks Dr.
Avatar f tn These arise from altered body ecology due to usage of medications, improper diet, environment and even unhealthy lifestyle from recent years. Further evaluation like allergy tests may also need to be done. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I think if a child has an allergy or intolerance that it is going to cause them to show increased behaviours basically because they don't feel well, have headaches etc etc. By removing the substance from the diet there can be a reduction in some children in some behaviours. But allergy or intolerance do not cause autism and you cannot recover from autism. By supporting the child for their difficulties eg.
Avatar m tn There is really no way for you to guess as to what she is allergic to...unless you sit there and make notes as to what she does NOT eat. If she's the one trying to figure out what she's allergic to,it's a different story. She would have to eliminate every thing from her diet that she THINKS she's allergic to, and then slowly reintroduce those things back into her diet. That way if she has an allergic reaction, she'll know what's causing it.
Avatar n tn Also, I would be a bit leery about diagnosing allergies through bloodwork in a young child. They are notoriously inaccurate. A skin ***** test would be better. You run the risk of false positives in a child who already should be on a very limited diet. True milk allergy is very rare, so it's likely that he is dealing with an intolerance. Even if the bloodwork is negative.
874521 tn?1424116797 Antihistamines can be helpful in some cats with atopy (pollen and dust allergies) but are not likely to be helpful in cats with food allergy (since the only effective treatment for food allergy is the hypoallergenic diet and nothing else orally but water). I do not often use benadryl in atopic cats, but I have had some success with chlorpheniramine 2-4mg/cat orally twice daily.
Avatar f tn Anyone have any experience with raw diets? My poor dog seems to be allergic to everything he eats. Hes on a prescription hypoallergenic diet now and he's doing ok with it but its super expensive and it gives him bad breath. There has to be something better for him out there but until I find it I was thinking of going raw. One of my coworkers highly recommended it but all the information I can find on it is either all for it or all against it.
Avatar f tn Someone else told me their son changed within a week of being on this diet, but when he was allergy tested, he had allergies to it. So, seriously, get your child allergy tested before removing foods from their diet. Wheat is a good source or whole grains. Removing this from a child's diet removes their intake of fiber, generally. Milk is a good source of protein.
Avatar f tn I am getting this kind of allergy past five months. It comes only during night and stays till morning. But recently, I am getting it even during day if I am travelling and working throughout the day. The allergy starts with an island of rashes and joins! At night time, I am not able to sleep and even if I do, I itch unconsciously.
Avatar n tn yes, dr doctor considered eliminating things like milk
Avatar m tn HI...I am working with a Dr on MedHelp for an exercise program for us!! As soon as I know it is doable I will let u all in on it... Now as for a diet, I have a few questions...do u know if u have a thyroid issue? were u checked lately for an autoimmune issue? How about Ehlers-Danlos? Do u ever have issues with IBS? Sorry for the questions, but they will help in answering ur question.
Avatar m tn Whether your baby is having these rashes due to milk allergy or weather allergy(hay fever),that can be confirmed after skin ***** tests or blood test.If hay fever is suspected due to any allergen,be it pollen, molds or dust mites etc,it can be confirmed after these tests only.I am sending you a good link on milk allergy which you will find useful: http://www.foodallergyinitiative.org/section_home.cfm?section_id=3&sub_section_id=3 Hope it helps.Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with a wheat allergy. It isn't just wheat it's wheat, corn, sesame seeds, hazelnut and peanuts. I'm struggling! Majority of the things wheat free tend to be dairy free also, and do not taste very nice! Just wondering if anyone knows of any books that are any good with wheat free?
2065896 tn?1373685384 I take cortisone nose spray and anti histamine tablets to no avail. I have had allergy tests that have come back negative but food allergy tests have come back with a number of food allergies. Could a food allergy cause a runny nose?
Avatar n tn Doctors thought it was an allergy but she is now on such a strict diet she is rapidly losing weight. Any ideas? She has been through menopause and had buning mouth syndrome.
Avatar m tn I will be doing another complete allergy test tomorrow. The previous allergy test only showed an allergy to Ash, Grass, Rye, and Plantain pollen. Milkprotein was tested negative (!) I was tested for Milkprotein, Dustmites, Cats, Dogs, Horses, Guinea pigs, Rabbit, Hamster, Mold Fungus (Alternaria, Cladosporium, Penicillium mix, Aspergillus), Hasel, Birch, Ash, Rye, Plantain, Mugwort, and Ragweed Pollen. Any suggestions? I uploaded pictures of my CT scan on my profile.
Avatar m tn Is dizziness upon standing a symptom of gluten intolerance, wheat allergy , or oat allergy? I have read that oats don't have gluten is this true, or will they affect people who are gluten intolerant? Im pretty sure they do affect me.
Avatar n tn t been back to an allergy doctor in some time now... Lately I have tried to introduce new foods into my diet which have not gone well... I do not have hives I do not have any skin reaction however, my stomach feels like its being ripped apart and gets distended to no end... its the same foods each time... My question is, are there "allergies" that react in this manner? Or is this just my stomach being a food snob?
