Avatar n tn I do urge all of you who read this to watch the food labels and if it says ASPARTAME to throw it in the bin, dont give it to your children, and please if you are pregnant dont even think of taking anything with this substance in it. It could be responsible for hurting not only you, but your unborn baby...... Claire I also had migraines when ingesting this stuff, fuzzy lights, headache and vision blurryiness...
1666434 tn?1325262350 It may be allergies. I get mild to severe heartburn when I ingest somethings that I am not aware that I am allergic to...
306455 tn?1288862071 When she got to Florida March 22, all she had to take was one pill, and that was a pill for the Aspartame poisoning! She is well on her way to a complete recovery. And she is walking! No wheelchair! This article saved her life. If it says "SUGAR FREE" on the label; DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!
Avatar m tn It may be a food, fabric, or a med that you have been using for years without any side affects. Mine was diet coke. My body just said enough to the Aspartame. Aspartame by the way is a deadly toxin. Read about it here: http://www.aim4health.com/nutrasweet.htm . Since I quit drinking any diet sodas my hives are gone but I am left being sensitive to other things as well so I have to watch everything I eat, drink, and wear until my body settles down.
Avatar f tn Can drinking diet soda and using Equal in my coffee cause anxiety to get worse? I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression over a year ago. Neurontin helped the anxiety in the beginning but increasing the dose has not helped anymore. My doctor gave me Klonopin to use as needed and I only take 1/2 pill when I need to because a whole pill makes me way too sleepy. I drink 2 cups of coffee a day, but only at work, so 5 days a week. I also drink about 1 diet pepsi a day, every day.
Avatar n tn Both neuros I saw asked if I used aspartame. I don't so I never gave it another thought. Actually my lung specialist asked the same question....go figure.
Avatar n tn t have to look long before you find scary findings in studies done.. Even the ones that are suppose to be good I.e. stevia 'people love cus its natural' well, it's been shown to cause reproductive problems.. I'd almost rather shoot up high fructose corn syrup into my vein.. Lol.. This junk is in a lot of stuff.. Even your mouth wash.. I probably sound like a nut, but I can't help it I just read about lots o things.. And I'm nuerotic..
Avatar n tn Hi, it sounds like you have had quite an ordeal with these allergies! i also have allergies, but mine were bad enough that i developed asthma and had to go on several medications to get it under control, now i only take zyrtec as needed. i don't know about allergies that are "digested first" with zyrtec, everyone has different reactions- but zyrtec is systemic so it should be help equally with your sore throat and itching.
168348 tn?1379357075 I would also have to agree. It seems that there are so many more with food allergies today then there used to be and I have often wondered how much of it was a true allergy. I too tend to be lactose intolerant, although I can have it in small doses. I have never considered that a dairy allergy, although I know others who do.
Avatar m tn I was trying to drink more water & added flavor crystals that had aspartame. My Dr said I had high blood pressure that I never had before. He said it was "natural." I disagreed. Then I researched Aspartame and found high blood pressure was one of the many side effects. I stopped ingesting any aspartame -- it is in many food products. No more high blood pressure. Now I have floaters I never had before - maybe from the aspartame. I would suggest you not ingest ANY aspartame.
5913031 tn?1382391190 ve been craving diet Dr pepper and I have been wanting it... I drank one but when my mom seen me she said oh your not allowed to have diet soda ... I asked why not and she said your just not suppose too.. does anyone know if you can or can't have diet soda ? And why?
Avatar n tn Hello Dear, 90% of all migraines are caused by allergic reactions to food or food additives. Aspartame is the most common food additive related to migraines. Also 10% of all migraines are related to aspartame consumption. You should avoid diet drinks and sweetning agents. For more information refer http://www.migrainewatch.
Avatar n tn Back to the doctor for different steroids, prednisone?, hives eventually went away. Went to allergist, no food allergies, no other allergies except molds, cats and grasses. Allergist told me may be sand fleas or bed bugs from a hotel, which it was not. They come back every so often. Someone told me maybe from advil, so I switched to Tylenol, but hives came back. Someone else told me maybe from Tylenol, so I switched back to advil (when I get headaches) and I still got hives.
Avatar f tn Causes may include reduced blood flow or oxygen supply to brain, past infections, migraines etc. usually this is not a significant finding but needs to be looked in detail due to possibility of migraines in your child. Multiple sclerosis looks unlikely in this age group. Consult a pediatric neurologist to investigate your child in detail. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar n tn They have said that neotame (an offshoot of aspartame but more potent) does not need to be labeled in the ingredients-- including organic!!! This is absolutely appalling!!
Avatar f tn You will need to convince me of the dangers of aspartame as I have yet to see a credible study to prove to me that it causes all of the symptoms the homeopaths claim. It has been in use for gee, I think over 30 years now. Why do we not all have MS? How many people do you know that also drink products with aspartame but seem to have no problems at all? I know several who do and do not have a thing wrong with them.
Avatar f tn can aspartame cause more damage to liver ? is it safe to drink pepsi or coke as i read thse softdrinks contain them.
710547 tn?1295446030 You are not drinking methanol when you drink something with aspartame in it. Methanol is formed if the aspartame is exposed to temps greater than 86 degrees F. It is also formed in the small intestine when aspartame is digested. However, for a person to show symptoms of methanol toxicity, a person would have to drink large amounts of aspartame. And the signs of methanol toxicity would disappear when the aspartame wasn't ingested anymore.
Avatar m tn I would expect people to get the same effects from drinking aspartame as they would from taking phenylalanine as a supplememt, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Or maybe not to the degree that I would expect. Actually, phenylalanine IS a metabolite of aspartame. When metabolized, aspartame is broken down into aspartic acid, phenylalanine, and methanol. Avatar f tn Yea, I didn't realize how many products aspartame is in these days until I read the book "Sweet Poison." I was shocked to learn that it's in over 5000 products in the grocery store. It was even in the Fiber One cereal that I was eating. I'm sure a lot people don't realize this and may be consuming more than they realize.
Avatar n tn Hi, a study published in April 2006 sponsored by the National Cancer Institute involved 340,045 men and 226,945 women, ages 50 to 69, found no statistically significant link between aspartame consumption and leukemias, lymphomas or brain tumors. The study used surveys filled out in 1995 and 1996 detailing food and beverage consumption. The researchers calculated how much aspartame they consumed, especially from sodas or from adding the sweetener to coffee or tea.
645390 tn?1338555377 Hi Michelle! Oh boy... that must be stressful! Sounds like you're handling the situation with grace, though - although I wouldn't blame you for busting at the seams. I mean, saying your MS is actually an aspartame allergy?? I just wanted to chip in: while I'm pretty sure aspartame does NOT cause MS (oh man - EVERYone would have it then!), I do know that aspartame is a very common trigger for migraines.
Avatar m tn aspartame also interferes with gcmaf and macrophges activation and can be used for those under immune modulatory therapies, in particular gcmaf becomes totally inefective here is the report about aspartame. sorry it is all italian language http://www.report.rai.it/dl/Report/Page-8200206a-0877-46c1-ab57-c774db2c6d38.html http://www.rai.tv/dl/RaiTV/programmi/media/ContentItem-5e7c7e8b-0de1-43fc-95f6-4ecbf4ec405a.
Avatar f tn And be sure to also check out the threads titles "Aspartame Safety I " and ""Aspartame Safety II " where over 10 studies are presented liking aspartame to increased cancers risk, insulin insensitivity, NACL metabolic disruption and several other icky things. Where there's smoke ....
