Avatar m tn Pink eye is just that: pink eye. Our conjunctiva can get inflamed so easily from a variety of things. The seasons are also changing again, and it's that time of year where allergies and other things in your body will flare up. It's normal, and it's not HIV.
Avatar n tn After two weeks I went to the doctors and they told me I had bacterial pink eye and gave me eye drops (3 drops a day for 7 days). It's been over a week since the eye drops and still my eyes are very wet (but don't really drip) and water seems to just build up for some reason. Sometimes theres a lot of liquid in my eye to the point that things look blurry. I went back to the doctor today and now he has me trying allergy eye drops. What do you guys think?
Avatar f tn If her eye ball is completely red then I would say it's pink eye and would take her to the er. But if there's redness but doesn't cover her entire eye ball I would say its eye allergies.

Avatar n tn She could also have a blocked tear duct. Or pink eye. Call your doc AND wash your hands. Pink eye is really contagious! My guess is it is one of those two things. They prescribe a simple eye drop for it and some docs will even just do it over the phone as this is so simple to treat and common. So, call and check on this. My allergies affect my eyes but in the way most allergies do, a 'histimine' way in that they itch and water and swell.

Avatar f tn I first started with a stye in my eye, then once it went away, I got my first pink eye about 6 years ago. After that I would get it about once every 2 months or so. The doctor said that it was due to my eye glands producing too much oil. He gave me pills that reduced the produccion of oil and it help. I live in las Vegas for a year. That whole year I had no problems. Once I moved back to where I lived orifinaly the problem came back. Not to mention my seasonal allergies.
Avatar f tn Hello, There is no relation of farting and pink eye. Pink eye can be due to conjunctivitis, uveitis, dry eye, blepharitis, angle closure glaucoma, subconjunctival haemorrhage, corneal infection, injury, contact lens wear and allergies. I would suggest you to get it evaluated from an ophthalmologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn It looked like pink eye without the itchiness and crusty eye. This went on for about a month or so, until I decided to treat it with some antibiotics I had laying around the house (my childrens pink eye medicine). I used this medicine for a week or so, which didnt clear up the red eye, but seemed to keep it at bay. Finally, wiht no explanation, the red eye went away. About two months ago, my right eye began showing the same symptoms. Sometimes it would be clear, sometimes flaming red.
Avatar f tn They work for me and my allergies are horrible every year. Mine get so bad people think I have pink eye. Another thing you can do is soak some paper towels and hold them on your eyes for a few minutes or get a spoon real cold and hold it against your eye.
1006035 tn?1485575897 I brought him to the vet and they said it was definitely pink eye and gave him some eye ointment. I find it so odd to put ointment in an eye...he doesn't seem to care though. Do you think he'll have allergies like this every year? He is a 2 year old labradoodle.
Avatar f tn Hi Doc, I have a red ring around my pupil that only shows up when my pupils get small. This isnt pink eye, allergies, or bloodshot eyes because it dosen't look like it or feel like it. Now i have a hazel or greenish colored iris. And when my pupils get small i see a red ring that shows up around my pupil that is like a scattered ring it spikes up to different lengths in different parts on the outside of the ring.
Avatar f tn The sclera of her eye is still white and she is able to move her eye normally. She has not had any new foods, no new detergents/soaps. I just cannot pinpoint why this happened again to her?!? I have considered seasonal allergies as my middle son also struggles with seasonal allergies as does my husband. Her ped does not seem too concerned as she is otherwise playful, eating, drinking, peeing, etc. Thanks for any input!
Avatar f tn These medications all help to relieve short term symptoms of allergic reactions. However, there is a way of preventing the long term symptoms of allergies. This is through a process known as immunology, more commonly referred to as an allergy shot.
Avatar n tn My Eyes have been doing this strage thing for awhile now. For a whole month it will appear like I have pink eye (no itching or burning) but then for two months they will be crystal clear. Now they are pink and my eye sight has gotten very worse in the last 3 days. I can still see, but everything is blurry.
Avatar m tn Hello, I have a red spot in my eye that has been reoccuring for almost 8 years. It is inflamed and will calm down within minutes. I think it may be due to allergies? Any thoughts on what this could be? I have visited an optometrist and she prescribed steroid drops for 10 days. Problem became almost non existent until i stopped using them. It's a little pink and when inflamed it can become more red. I can post pics if needed.
Avatar n tn A little over a week ago I'm pretty sure I had what I thought was pink eye. I had the red, the discharge, the whole thing, but my eyes were always redest at the outer corner for some reason. I took eye drops from the doctor for about a week and most of it cleared up. When I leave the house my eyes tend to start getting red but I'm pretty sure its just allergies, so I've just been using some visine and it helps for the most part.
480331 tn?1310403529 My 2yr old daughter is always itching in between her forearm and upper arm crease. She also has it behind her knees. Her right eyelid is pink, "Not pink-eye". She has what looks like a rash on her back, little red dots. Does anyone know of a good home remedy to relieve the pink and itchiness? She loves eggs and cheese, and she probably has an allergic reaction to dairy.
1503643 tn?1311518238 I was recently exposed to pink eye from my nephew. I have been diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma. I do not have any symptoms and am practicing standard precautions. Do I need to worry about this? I am staying at his home for 3 1/2 more weeks while taking a class 12 hours away from my home. Should I stay somewhere else until he is cleared up?
Avatar m tn I think I have pink eye. I am trying to get an idea if I have viral or bacterial. I read that if I have viral I would not need medicine and that it would go away in a certain amount of time. Doctors are expensive and I do not have insurance. I do not have any discharge during the day but I do have some crusting over night. There is redness in my eyes and they do itch. There is no feeling of grittiness, light sensitivity, swelling, or other symptoms.
