975357 tn?1252704723 Now it begins around march and goes all through ragweed season in late September early October. When I was 19 I only had mild symptoms through the month of September. Problem is, I went to an allergist, and he tried to do the skin scratch test and stopped and told me my skin was dermatographic and that the test would generate false positives on everything. He did a east panel, but it was for mostly food allergies not pollen and outdoor allergens.
Avatar n tn I just suck it up and deal with mine:P I do occasionally need an inhailer when ragweed season rolls around.
1152061 tn?1262040956 My general practitioner thought the sore throats were from ragweed. It was always ragweed season when they occured, and batteries of tests for strep throat, yeasts and other things always came back negative. I just got interdermal testing and did in fact come back reactive for ragweed, as well as molds, some pollens, dust mites and, unfortunately, cats ( I have a cat).

Avatar f tn I have suffered a great amount with so many seasonal allergies, food allergies and intolerances, medication allergies, and other allergies. I cannot name them all. But, in the last couple of years I have been on a quest to find out what can stop these. I don't know if you are a believer, but I am, and I have let my Spirit lead me to answers. I began changing my diet to only whole foods (nothing processed). That had me feeling better, but still allergies.
Avatar f tn There is such a thing as environmental allergies like gas exhaust, pollen , dust. There are all kinds of things someone can be allergic to. Even something like grass pollen.
Avatar f tn Oftentimes fruits and veggies cross react with other things like pollen, ragweed, etc. Are you on allergy meds for env. allergies? During peak season on those allergies, the other ones can flare dearly. Latex is also a cross reactor to fruits and veggies. Carrots to mugwort (weed). Hope this helps and let us know how you are doing.

Avatar n tn s allergies. Even though these are signs of inhalant allergies, check for food allergies too. When I quit drinking milk, my hay fever symptoms almost disappeared.
5986700 tn?1380791380 Hey my peeps, I haven't chirped very much lately as I've been feeling really sh*tty. Anyway, I was starting to get concerned as I thought that I was allergic to the L-Tyrosine, which has been giving me energy and I didn't want to stop taking it, Or I thought maybe it's the Milk Thistle for my liver.
Avatar n tn I usually have allergies in the spring (pollen, hay fever, etc.) But all through the summer, I've been having sudden extremely itchy throat. When I try to use my tongue to relieve the itching, I can feel the itching in my ear and sometimes my nose. The itching is very bad at first, but after a minute it subsides but doesn't totally go away until about half an hour later. This does not sound to me as my usual allergies. Usually, I just have a constantly mild itchy or sore throat.
Avatar m tn I've been suffering with chronic sinusitis for almost a year and a half - long story short, I ended up with sinus surgery and having tonsils removed. Bad, bad situation - couldn't swallow, couldn't eat, lost a ton of weight etc., etc. I've been doing better but I just can't get my appetite back and my stomach is contantly sick. Dr. says that all will heal in time but it is frustrating.
Avatar n tn I figured out when the antibiotics were not working, that this was related to my allergies. The ragweed count is very HIGH at this time of year on Long Island, NY. I went back to my doctor and she suggested trying Claritin or Allegra once a day with asterpro nasal spray at night for the post nasal drip. Do you have a good allergist? Are you drinking enough water? Where do you live? I have a feeling your symptoms are related to the change in weather and the ragweed being so high.
Avatar m tn ve moved to a foreign country and I have had terrible reactions to what I assume are airborne allergies since March. My eyes are VERY red and stingy almost all day + recurring runny nose. The nose is better after some sprays I got, but my eyes get so red and bothersome that it has affected my social life---I literally just don't want to go outside anymore! In the last few months I've been prescribed Aerius, Telfast + Allegra, Tafen, Claritine, Xyzal, etc.
1666434 tn?1325262350 OHHH on the gummies .. those with ragweed allergies .. some of the gummies contain the immune boosting ingredient that actually is derived from the root of a plant .. I wish I could recall the name of it .... it's very common. OH OH --- Echinacea (not sure how to spell it). Our allergist suggested we stay away from Echinacea due to my kids documented and symptomatic weed allergies.
Avatar n tn I need to get some kind of medication before the ragweed season comes at the end of this summer. I have never got allergy tested, nor do I think I can afford it right now. I get unbelievable allergies during the end of each summer and I pray for the winter. I have tried many otc pills and I am never even 50% after them. Are there any certain prescriptions that helped people during this season?
Avatar n tn nt seem to help, the throat clearing seemed to be getting worse. He was then tested for allergies and it was found that he had only a very mild allergy to ragweed and it was so minor the doctor said it did not need to be treated. This is the 2nd doctor we have seen Please help!!
Avatar m tn Sometimes it brings up phlegm; other times not. We know she has allergies to ragweed, grass, weeds, flaxseed. Her food contains nothing that she's allergic to. I understand that her allergies may act up in the summer, but her coughing is year-round (we live where we have winter from Nov.-Mar. so the grasses are dead part of the year). They have diagnosed her with pneumonia and found a shady spot on her lung (our vet thinks this may be scar tissue from a previous bout of pneumonia).

Avatar n tn I suffer bad hay fever allergies, and this is the worst time, besides ragweed season... I highly doubt the aggression occurs without a cause. Another idea is, some antihistimes cause drowsiness. It could be the drowsiness that is making your son cranky.
Avatar f tn My allergies are killing me. As if they weren't bad already before getting pregnant, they are worse now and NOTHING helps me. I've tried all of the acceptable allergy and cold medications, I have tried a humidifier, I have tried vapo rub, and NOTHING helps. I am getting so frustrated and annoyed, I don't know what to do anymore!!!!
Avatar f tn I get itchy watery, puffy eyes.I sneeze a lot. The doctor says its allergies and noticed that in the upper parts of my nose i am swollen. I also have been having some dry cracked skin on my upper lip and am not sure if this may be part of the allergy, but its there. does anyone here have the same thing or know what it is for sure. doc says its allergic rhinitis, but i thought that it should have stopped by now.
Avatar f tn would depend on what you are allergic too. Allergy to grass pollen would make you worse in the fall, ragweed I believe is in the summer months and dust mite allergies are all year round. I got told from my allergist that dust mites peak in june and it feels the worse come winter (october-november) when you start spending more time inside with the dust mite dander.
Avatar m tn Hello, thank you so much for your very informative answer. The pollen count for my area has been extremely high the past three weeks and this is when the phosphenes and the dry eye syndrome started. The ragweed is in total full bloom where I live, it's all over the place. There is a lot of wind which is blowing it all over and into my house. I have to keep the doors closed. My eyes have always been healthy until Aug 15 when the high pollen count happened.
