Common Questions and Answers about Allergies natural therapy

allergies

Avatar m tn Has anyone used natural therapies for allergies with success? I found this: http://***.*****.com/allergies/all-modality/allergies/miscellaneous/which-alternative-therapies-are-used-in-the-treatment-of-allergies-and-how-effective-are-they.html which seems like a great resource. I've tried QBC (quercitin, bromelein, Vitamin C) mixes and had some luck with those, but only if I remember to take them all the time.
Avatar m tn I suffer from all sorts of allergies including pet allergies, trees, and pollen. Does anyone know of any natural ways to get rid of my severe allergies? I'm tired of prescription medicine because they cause more side effects than good and just do not work for me. PLEASE HELP~!
Avatar m tn I will try to make it short, I have suffred for 7 years with body odor that is coming from my vaginal area, my stool and urine. I have been to many docs and the wholisitc docs tell me its food allergies (soem food allergies show up in the blood testing but not the ***** testing). My regular allergy docs say no way related and tehy dont trust the blood testing. Wholisitc Doc says funny things can happen with food allergies and Docs arent willing to admit it. This is my only link so far.
Avatar f tn My nine-year-old granddaughter has been diagnosed with steroid-resistant asthma with multiple allergies, but we are told hers is a non-allergic asthma. She was recently also diagnosed with sarcoidosis. Her asthma is complicated by URI's that require hospitalizations every 4-6 weeks for IV steroid infusions, antibiotics, and RT. Two weeks ago she was in the PICU for pneumonia and a pneumothorax plus all the rest.
Avatar f tn Ask him about low stomach acid, possible food allergies, food intolerances, maybe just simply high stomach acid. If I were you I would try out some natural remedies for all these problems, because all that medication is not good for you. How are your stools, normal?
Avatar f tn First, the two drugs you were put on aren't effective usually for anxiety -- Buspar hasn't shown to work that well in clinical trials and wellbutrin is more for depression, as it's very stimulating and can cause anxiety. Also, allergies don't cause anxiety -- the way you think about them does. I'd look into therapy with a psychologist who specializes in anxiety treatment and see if you can't solve this.
11803947 tn?1430842645 I have really severe allergies and benadryl is not doing it for me. Today I woke up with a bloody nose. My eyes are so itchy and watery. My throat hurts a lot and etc ... I dont like taking anything while pregnant but I can't handle this anymore. Any natural remedies ?
Avatar f tn My take is this: if you're life isn't severely disrupted, you don't need medication yet. The first natural approach is therapy with a psychologist, preferable one who specializes in anxiety disorders. There are many natural remedies that help some people and not others; an overview of these can be found in a book called Natural Highs by Hyla Cass, a psychiatrist at UCLA. There are also many other books by practitioners of natural medicine.
Avatar f tn Anyone feel like pregnancy has made their springtime allergies a million times worse? I can barely breathe, have no voice, and if I lay down my nose stops up. I broke down and took a claritan earlier(I haven't even taken an aspirin the whole time I've been pregnant and I'll be 33 wks on Fri) and it didn't really even help. Have any of you tried any natural remedies for allergies that have actually worked?
Avatar f tn Most allergy medications are in a class that is not safe or the safety is unknown. I would use more natural remedies such as a Eucalyptus rub (Vicks Vapor Rub), steam, tea, etc. to be on the safe side.
1839630 tn?1346513783 I am 23 weeks tomorrow and my allergies are making me miserable. the list of drugs my dr gave me says it is ok to take benedryl and claritin but i feel like anything that has bad side effects on me will have similar ones on the baby. So benedryl makes me sleepy therefore it will make the baby drowsy... idk if there is any truth to this at all but its what I keep thinking. Is there any truth to this? She has been moving like normal today after i took it.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried BAX 3000 for allergies and sinus problems? My chiropractor now has this for treatment of many issues. Insurance does not cover any of the cost. I was windering if anyone has used this treatment for any kind of issues, what were your results, was it worth the cost, etc??? Thanks! http://www.bioallergenix.
560272 tn?1311350293 There a lot of natural remedies for allergies that might help. A good start would be freeze dried nettles by Eclectic Institute and Bromelain Sinus Ease by Natures Life. There are also many homeopathic remedies at you local health food store. As for the anxiety, a book by Hyla Cass called Natural Highs might get you informed on what's available. But you should be in therapy regardless to work on that anxiety!
Avatar m tn Allergy-induced asthma is the most common type of asthma in the United States. Some of the same things that trigger allergies — pollen, dust, pet dander — also can trigger asthma attacks. The most common asthma symptom is coughing, which is far less common in allergies. You need to see an allergy specialist to determine if you have asthma and what triggers your attacks. Allergies cause your immune system to respond to a substance abnormally. They can produce severe reactions.
Avatar f tn I wish there was a natural medicine. I always try and go homeopathic or use a natural medicine, but in the case of asthma , as far as I know, you need an asthma puffer obtained through a doctor's prescription.
Avatar m tn Dog allergies are very common and due to saliva of the dog. “Allergy to dogs is relatively common, as dog allergen can be found in public places, including daycare facilities.” “For people with dog allergy, avoidance of dogs is the mainstay of therapy. Allergy medications are likely to help control symptoms, but in many instances symptoms may persist if the person owns one or more indoor dogs. Allergy shots may also be a good treatment option for people who are allergic to their pet dogs.
Avatar f tn I recently had a yeast infection. I took monostat 1 and a pill prescribed by a doctor.. I thought I was cured but after 2 weeks, I started getting VERY itchy after taking showers. Yes, I do scrub down there, but I've ALWAYS done that and I've never had problems. The only problem is itching all in my vagina area after I come out of the shower. It's never been THIS intense before...
Avatar m tn I suffer from allergies, and this sounds like an allergy, but I also went through a period when I was about 12 or 13 where I was clearing my throat all the time. I think the allergies combined with what would become an anxiety problem just made me focus on it more than I had before. Maybe that's all this is.
Avatar f tn Hormone replacement therapy or HRT, known in Britain as Hormone Therapy or HT, and the SSRIs appear to provide the most reliable pharmaceutical relief. ref:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menopause The extreme fatigue may be the reason for the feeling of breathing difficulty.Alternatively it could be asthma for which you will need to be assessed medically.
